Try – verb: to make an attempt or effort to do something or in this case…someone.
Sex. Logan Mitchell loves it, and ever since he realized his raw sexual appeal at a young age, he has had no problem using it to his advantage. Men and women alike fall into his bed—after all, Logan is not one to discriminate. He lives by one motto—if something interests you, why not just take a chance and try?
… and try?
And he wants to try Tate Morrison.
Just coming out of a four-year marriage with an ex-wife from hell, a relationship is the last thing on Tate’s mind. He’s starting fresh and trying to get back on his feet with a new job at an upscale bar in downtown Chicago.
The only problem is, Tate has caught the unwavering and unwelcome attention of Mr. Logan Mitchell – a regular at the bar and a man who always gets what he wants.
Night after night Tate fends off the persistent advances of the undeniably charismatic man, but after an explosive moment in the bar, all bets are off as he finds his body stirring with a different desire than his mind.
As arrogance, stubbornness and sexual tension sizzles between the two, it threatens to change the very course of their lives.
Logan doesn’t do relationships. Tate doesn’t do men. But what would happen if they both just gave in and…tried?

Hands down, Tate and Logan make my list of top 5 favorite book couples. They are wounded, stubborn, and so darn hot. They make mistakes and fight and then make up beautiful. It’s so wonderful to watch them fall in love.
This whole series is a MUST read suggestion from me!
A fun, sexy read. The imbalance and bully aspect didn’t tick my boxes. I read MM to get away from the typical “alphahole” characters found in MF. But it was a hot read, nonetheless.
Talk about an abrupt teasing cliffhanger! I guarantee Tate ended it there on purpose! At first my brain got angry at Logan for the pause but then the ending info for the audiobook sounded and I wanted to scream. Given that my hubs is sound asleep next to me and its 11:38 PM, I refrained but barely! Once I processed the evilness of that ending, I realized Tate must be at fault. Being a cock tease, he clearly set us up! (Or Ella Frank is a sadist! Not sure which!)
Can I say, HOT DAMN these two had me gasping , grunting, and turning to my hubs for attention! (I know TMI but trust me when I say you need to be prepared!)
Try is all kinds of erotic tension, lust, and I dare say feels! Tate is exactly the kind of person I like, probably because I’m Logan to a T. The chemistry between these two is insanely explosive. Hot lava feels like AC when these two grapple. Fanning oneself is a necessity.
Also to avoid uncomfortable situations, do not listen to this on your way to work! Trust me! Wet panties first thing in the morning is awkward! There’s also trying to explain to coworkers why the volume setting on your vehicle is so high that they can here sex scenes across the parking lot. Which might not have been so awkward if they weren’t straight guys confused about a “lady listening to gay porn!” Lol. Water cooler talk will be awkward for awhile but only until I finish book 2 and can tell them what happened!
Wish me luck! I need answers on Tate and Logan can give me!
Try was my first m/m book and it was HOT! Logan grabs you from the start. He’s cocky, arrogant and knows what he wants. What’s not to love? Then you meet Tate. He may not have the confidence that Logan has from the start but he can handle his own and show you what it means to be seductive.
I did think that the first sex scenes were drawn out but I not only got over that but craved more.
Way to go Ella. You introduced me to a world I can’t imagine living without now.
This was my first book in the MM genre and damn it was HOT AS HELL and just plain amazing. It was so fun to watch Logan trying to hit on Tate and when he reciprocates, Oh. My. God.!!! I just re-read this series for the umpteenth time and I can’t get enough of Logan and Tate. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to try something new in their reading choices. After all the book too says, Try.
One of the finest MM stories/series ever written, even better in Audible.
“I want you. Am I supposed to walk away because you´re a man? Maybe. They´ll say yes for sure. But I´m sick of all the questions running around in my head.” Tate stopped and licked his lips. “I want the man who sat down across from me and changed the way I look at the world. And if that´s wrong, then I´m confused because when I´m near you, it feels so damn right.”
I simply LOVE Logan and Tate´s story.
Every time and again I need and love to revisit their epic lovestory!
Aside from a lot of delicious, steamy sexy times, in this first book of the series we follow Logan and Tate´s growing and changing relationship, their personal growth (oh my, what would Logan do with this sentence ?) and their growing feelings and trust they´re giving each other.
5 “I-want-to do-it-again” stars !!!
HOLY LORD WHAT DID I JUST READ??!!
At this point I am still new to M/M and I thought I had hit some steamy situations but NOPE, I was wrong. The brief synopsis is this book is HOT HOT HOT!!!
Logan was yummy but Tate is who I fell in love with. Straight as a board, but one-night Logan walks into the bar and realizes instantly that he must have Tate in his bed. I don’t want to give too much away but you can imagine where the story goes after that….
“This changes things. If you think I’m going to walk out of here and you’ll conveniently forget about what happened, you should think again. This wasn’t a fluke, no matter how much you try to pretend. You wanted it as much as I did, and you should remember that tonight when you jerk off, thinking about my tongue in your mouth.”
This story has chemistry, great flow with the MC’s and so much MORE! What I didn’t expect was the mother of all cliffhangers…. I mean seriously?! Book two will most likely be my next read because I can’t wait to see what happens with Tate and Logan.
I can’t tell you how much I still think of Tate and Logan. Ella took me down a rabbit hole and I devoured all the books in this series. Intense characters, raw emotion. I loved every page.
5+***
Wow!!
With tears streaming down my cheeks and and smile on my face, I’m sad this series is finished.
The imperfectly perfect romantic love story. I couldn’t get enough of Tate and Logan. Both strong men, who find the perfect love in each other. This ride has it all. I laughed, cried, I was pissed, I was turned on and in the end I am envious.
Read this series, you will not be disappointed, I dare you!

HOLY COW… where to start?? Logan is a sexy as f*ck lawyer and an equal-opportunity lover. Tate is a HOT, motorcycle riding, STRAIGHT bartender.
Tate is the new employee at the bar that Logan frequents. When they meet, Logan sees Tate as a tantalizing challenge. Tate learns that Logan has slept with most of women he works with and a few of the men too. Tate finds it very disconcerting that he finds himself unable to stop thinking about Logan and eventually he comes to terms with the fact that he is sexually attracted to Logan.
This book is about Tate examining his feelings for another man and Logan who, for only the second time in his life, is beginning to have strong feelings for another person. The sexual tension between them in the beginning is HOT! When they finally decide to ‘try’, their banter before and after their ‘encounters’ is so sexually charged that I HAD to reread this book as soon as I was done with it. There is no major ‘story’ other than each exploring new feelings and , honestly, I LOVED it that way. I think anything more would have diminished the heat between them. There were a couple of ‘bumps’ in their relationship but the issues were resolved fairly quickly (which I also loved). There was a slight cliff-hanger at the end but I didn’t think it was too major.
*****
POV … third person with slight first person insight
stand alone or series… first book in a series but CAN be read as a stand-alone
would I recommend it … yes
did it give me a book hangover… YES
would I read it again … yes
When I first met Tate and Logan it was a little backwards; through the Christmas Novella that came out and I absolutely fell in love with them! Logan is cocky as hell and he has a rock exterior that you think you know him and then he surprises you at every turn. Tate is perfect, you can’t help but want him and hope that he makes the right decisions. This couple is so full of passion and compassion that I couldn’t get enough and can’t wait to finish this series of this lusty, sexy and beautifully romantic couple.
I listened to the audible version of the story and let me start by saying that the narrator did a great job. The story itself was okay. It took me a while to like Logan’s character because he just wouldn’t take no for a answer. Logan’s unwanted advances towards Tate seemed a bit obsessive, stalker-ish and just a bit too much. I love a good M/M story when both males are into each other but in this story Logan truly wore Tate down. I honestly thought they would come to a few blows before everything was said and done. I only started to like the story when Tate really started to get into Logan and entertain the idea of them. This story was definitely a steamy one. The ending of the story was okay but I had no idea that this was not a standalone story and I wish it was a standalone story. I want to know how the rest of Logan and Tate’s story end because I became invested in their relationship, but I have no idea if I will listen to the next book in this series. This wasn’t a bad story but there were parts of it that I didn’t love.
This story sets a very high benchmark for the MM genre which many other books are ranked against. Many of us started our MM journey with this book (and series) and love it dearly – me included.
Tate and Logan are legendary characters and often list in the top 5 book boyfriends.
This story is a bisexual awakening for Tate who is the (many will say lucky) target for sexy Logan who doesn’t let much stand in his way. It’s hot, steamy and exactly what you didn’t know you needed in your life.
Trust me – you want to TRY this book.
The graphic novel edition is an abridged version which doesn’t have all the elements and subtlety of the full novel but carries the tone well and has the epic benefit of the pictures! Well worth the money.
Try has been one of the books my blog partner has been trying to get me to read for months. I was so excited to finally get the chance and I want to kick my own ass for waiting so long. This is not my first Ella Frank book, that was the amazing Veiled Innocence. Total opposite books and loved both.
Logan is a lawyer that knows exactly what he wants. He loves sex and it didn’t matter if it was with a hot redheaded woman or a even hotter man. If he wanted it, he got it until he walked into his regular bar one night after work and spotted the new bartender. He didn’t know if this bartender would even be interested but he had his eye on him from the start and he had found exactly what he wanted next. He felt there was something there with his bartender and he could not stop gazing at him all night. When they would talk it was with a mix of flirting….His new bartender Tate had no idea that his world was about to be turned upside down.
Tate is the opposite of Logan. He was a flirt when he needed to be, and this was often being a bartender but he did not act on it. He noticed Logan right away, everyone noticed him…he was confident and everyone who worked there seemed to know him in more ways than one. When He noticed Logan was looking at him and being very blunt about anything and everything Tate didn’t see the harm in being flirty right back. What he didn’t know is that Logan has his eye on him and wouldn’t give up until he was sure he couldn’t have Tate right where in wanted him….in his bed.
Tate did not see it coming…he was straight. But something about Logan had changed him but he didn’t want to admit that to Logan or himself. When he finally decided he would take Logan advice and Try….it was electric! Tate only needed one thing from Logan and that was for him to take his own advice and try something new as well….Can Tate accept that he life is going to change and can Logan change is sexual ways?
I love this couple! Logan is confident, sexy, and blunt as fuck….he says what he means and doesn’t care who is around to hear it. Logan is the opposite but he comes around and they are amazing together. The book was hilarious, sexy, dealt with real issues. I can not wait to read Take and to continue this journey!
Quotes:
As Logan opened the door to the bar and stopped inside, he immediately search through and found the shiny object he was currently chasing. Right there, in that moment, Logan knew that somehow, this time, everything was going to be different.
“Does every word that comes out of your mouth have to do with sex?” Logan smirked against Tate’s mouth. “Usually, eighty/twenty, but with you, it seems more ninety-eight/two.”
“You’ll get exactly what you want from me, then you’ll be done, and I’ll be stuck on my own, trying to decide what on earth I just let happen.”
How can you not love this beautiful developing romance story between Logan and Tate. They are so perfect for each other! Logan, the bi-sexual sassy, no-filter dirty talking Lawyer, who takes whatever he wants, whenever he wants, and Tate, the straight bartender who is going through a nasty divorce and really just wants to get on with his life.
Most of the storyline is set around the bar that Tate is working at, which happens to be the same bar that Logan frequents, or the law firm that Logan is in partnership with his brother, or their individual apartments. The pace of storyline is slow, but in all fairness, it would have to be. It takes a lot of persistence and coaxing from Logan to convince Tate to at least ‘try changing sides’ and go out with him.
The book mainly focuses on the insecurities and fears of both MCs. Tate’s insecurities of lusting for the first time after another man and the fear of his family finding out about Logan, and Logan’s trust issues and the fear of committing into a relationship to one individual.
The book is told from dual POVs and there’s some inner dialogue as well. The sex scenes are off the chart hot and pretty graphic, so if MM sex is not your thing, then this book is definitely not for you. Would I recommend this book to others? Most definitely! Go ahead and at least give it a “Try”, you’ll definitely won’t regret it…
I had a little trouble starting this book, it took me two tries before I was finally able to get through the first chapter, but it was well worth it. This book is heavy on the sex, but a plot and character development was still there, interspersed between all the hot and blazing sex scenes. Overall, Ella Frank is a wonderful writer, and this book was enjoyable.
Well, here we are. I was really trying to let my first MM book be [book:Lover at Last|13570854] but I was itching for some MM action. One of the gals over on the FB KU Fix said this was a good read. And I just couldn’t deny the urge to pick this one up to satisfy that itch. I wasn’t terribly disappointed. However, these boys are complete horn-dogs.
Tate Morrison is the hot bartender. Recently separated from his wife, he is trying to piece his life back together. The only thing he cares about at this point is his bike and his new job. Until he meets the regular at the bar – Logan Mitchell.
Tate isn’t into men, and he sure isn’t looking to start a new relationship. Logan just won’t lay off, though. He doesn’t know what to think about the attractive man that hits on him every night. What would happen if he gave in?
The only downfall to this book is the lack of an emotional connection between Tate and Logan. It was all about lust. Although, it did make for a *steamy* read.
4 stars!

The best M/M Romance I’ve read.
