It’s been a decade since I divorced the love of my life, after her confession while I was deployedTen years since I spoke to Vi, my soul mate, the girl who had brought me to life only to stab me in the heart, sending me into an even darker state than where I was before I met her. Ten years, I’ve been watching her from afar, keeping tabs. After a decade in the Army, two Purple Hearts and a Medal of … and a Medal of Honor under my belt, I was kicked out with an honorable discharge, knowing no other skill than One Shot One Kill. Two years later, I’m part of a group of mercenaries who carry out justice. Criminals who hide behind their fancy lawyers and power—we take care of them and make it all look like karma. And with intel from our founder, Dr. Walker, a therapist with a long list of predators whose victims were too scared to turn them in, work is plenty and fulfilling.
Until Vi begins her sessions and I discover the reality I’ve lived the past ten years was nothing but a lie, when the truth is revealed.

So, I got sucked into this series by reading the second book first. I know, I know: what sense does that make? Going back and reading this story truly pulled me into the Club Alias world. It also gave some great insight into the world of BDSM that is deeper than the sexy headlines it mostly garners. The story of Corbin and Vivian was raw and real – it completely broke my heart for them. I love that they were able to find healing and that life offered them a second chance. Super excited to continue this series!
Fan-bloody-tastic!
Book one was epic! Book 2 was…WOW! If someone would have tools me that BDSM in a novel could be classy and heart touching, I’d have said “yeah right!” However, this book had me hooked from the start. I love Corbin and Vi! I shared every emotion with them, from the rape, to the BDSM, to her finding Corbin again. OMG! I am really speechless tonight and not many books have done that to me. The series has been wrapped up so well. The story is one I’ve never read before and it will stick with me for a while.
Well done, KD Robichaux!
What a ride. A fascinating, intriguing, heart rending and beautiful story. Corbin and Vi’s love has stood strong and with the help of good friends abd a brilliant therapist they overcome all the painful experiences that kept them apart. A fantastic ending.
So many emotions! I was all over the place with this book! I felt Corbin and Vi were perfect for each other right from the beginning of Before the Lie, and that hasn’t changed at all. The continuation of their story brought me to tears, had me angry, and filled me full of hope. It was an amazing story!
Corbin is former military, now part owner of a BDSM club. He also has a bit of an obsession with his ex-wife. Despite it being his decision to divorce, he can’t quite let her go. When he catches sight of her entering his club, he kinda goes off the rails a bit.
Vi hasn’t moved on with her life. She is still alone, unable to move past Corbin. He is always on her mind, and she still loves him. Even so, she has been able to make her life somewhat fulfilling, and has found a career that makes her happy.
This book……I can’t get past the myriad of emotions it brought out. The connection between Corbin and Vi is absolute magic, exactly what I look for in a romance. The heat level between them is off the charts, but its that connection between them that stays strong despite a decade apart that really makes this book so fabulous. This duet is definitely an amazing beginning to the Club Alias series, and definitely going on my recommend list!
Oh, WOW! I don’t even know where to start with how much I loved this book! This does pick up where Before the Lie ends. Please, please, PLEASE read Before The Lie first if you haven’t already. I loved Corbin and Vi in the first book. But I’m head over heals about them now. It’s 10 years after the lie was told, and through some interesting twists and turn, the truth does come out. Dr. Walker has to be one of my favorite characters of all time.
The strength of the relationship between Corbin and Vi is positively magical. It’s amazing the things you can overcome with love. Definitely one of my favorite couples and books.
