Olivia Cole set me free. I am learning to live and breathe without him, but I still feel him all around. He doesn’t understand that without him, I will always be trapped as a prisoner of my own heart. I am trying to move on and be happy. The music academy is everything I dreamed it would be and more, but I can feel someone watching me. I have this nagging feeling in the pit of my stomach, … stomach, something bad is about to happen, and there is nothing I can do to stop it.
Cole
Olivia is gone. I feel the loss of her everywhere. My heart aches to have her back, but my vengeance has taken over. I will not rest until all those who hurt Olivia have paid the price.
Revenge is sweet, but the bitter sting it leaves in its wake stirs my restless heart.
If Olivia finds out what I have done, will she ever want to come back to me? Everything is so messed up, I can’t tell where the lies end and the truth begins.
Truth in Freedom is the second book in the Truth & Lies Duet and must be read after Truth in Lies, Book 1, to follow the storyline.

Wow!!! This continuation of Olivia and Cole’s story kept me on the edge of my seat to the end. I loved seeing Olivia grow into a strong independent women, and stay strong minded no matter what she goes through.

What an ending to Cole and Olivia’s story! A must read for sure. Be prepared for an intense rollercoaster ride of emotions! Maggie Kay knows how to make her readers feel every emotion she puts her characters through. I love it! To see the growth and strength of the characters in this conclusion really speaks to Maggie’s talent as a writer, phenomenal.

I feel like the odd man out on this one, but I loved it way less than I hoped to. The first was so enjoyable and I was excited for the conclusion, but a number of situations just fell flat for me. There was a lot of repetition, Cole was just a moron so many times, Olivia forgave a few things much too easily and while I was rooting for them to come back together, this just wasn’t as good as the first half.
Don’t let my view put you off – this duet is a great read if you enjoy dark romance!
I couldn’t wait for this book to the point I was scared I had built it up beyond all expectations, well I needn’t have worried because Maggie wrote this masterpiece that has left me feeling at peace for Olivia, she really had been through the ringer but I loved watching her grow stronger with every page I turned.
The fact Maggie didn’t sugar coat anything and showed us the dark side of Human trafficking through the victims eyes only made me fall deeper for this book. I felt sick reading so points but these needed to be shared in order to grasp the full extent of Olivias pain and trauma.
I love how love shined through even at the darkest times in someone’s lives we can still find beauty in the most horrible of circumstances.
Well…. I have been gutted and put back together… I thought the first book was tough but this one pulled my heart strings so tight they almost broke. Cole pissed me right the hell off for his “thinking it will help” crap while they were separated, but I still think everyone needs a Cole in their life. He is amazing with Olivia. I am sooooo happy Olivia-Kitten has grown from what she went though and woooo that shows in this book!!! For her to still be so strong was amazing. Great conclusion and thank you so much for the ARC!!!!
In book one she is rescued then set free by Cole for hr to live a life without him. No one asked her opinion they just made decisions for her. In this way, she was still in captivity, not making her own decisions. She doesn’t let this stop her even though she is hurt and feels betrayed. Cole’s got the can’t help its. Setting her up on her own wasn’t part of his plan he wanted her with him. While the focus is the captivity and healing of Olivia, it turns out the she becomes instrumental in helping the people around her heal. This, the second book of the series, is no less emotional, painful, revealing, healing. There is suspense and intrigue oh yeah and some action too.
This may be this authors first book (yes it is two parts, with a cliff hanger of sorts that lead to this one) but she has done amazing things with the characters who are flawed and vengeful, and human. She’s made sure that people who stick with it and read both books will not feel cheated but will rejoice in the skill and finesse this new author displays. It’s not an easy or pretty read, it can’t be with it dealing with human trafficking. It’s emotional and gritty and down and dirty and it’s an amazing read. If possible the second book may have been better than the first one. In reclaiming her freedom, living her life to better others, she has redefined her truth and earned her freedom to live, grow and thrive. It’s a wonderful read that wont leave you wanting or needing more.
This book hooked me right in. It’s much faster paced than book 1, I flew through it. Truth in Freedom is laced with the emotional roller coaster you’d expect from the cliffhanger Truth in Lies left us a on. Yet it doesn’t give the book hangover the first book did. Olivia really had great character development in this book, without drawing it out. I didn’t love how Cole conducted himself at first in this story, but he more than made up for it. The plot was epic and left me in tears by the end. Don’t worry, they were Happy tears!
