A Wall Street Journal bestseller.
From bestselling author Susan Stoker comes a sizzling new series about four former military operatives who rid the world of the worst of humanity while fighting to protect the best part of their lives: the women they love.
Former military operative Carson “Bull” Rhodes hasn’t dated seriously since he and his teammates left the army. Since then he’s opened … the army. Since then he’s opened Silverstone Towing—which is a front for his other job: hired killer. When kindergarten teacher Skylar Reid calls for help while stranded on the side of the interstate, the attraction is instant. The problem is Bull’s career has jaded him. Skylar’s innocent, and he wants to keep her that way.
Cautious by nature, Skylar never expected to fall in love with her tow truck driver. Even so, once Bull reveals what he really does for a living, she’s not sure she can handle it. When Skylar faces threats that have nothing to do with Bull’s job but are just as deadly, the stakes are higher than ever.
With the help of the Silverstone team, Bull will use everything he’s learned over the years to bring the woman he loves home—because the alternative is unthinkable.

This is an enjoyable read and a great start to a new series.
The storyline has plenty of action, loyalty, love, romance and trust.
Trusting Skylar is the first book in the all-new Silverstone series by author Susan Stoker. After the Army does Bull and his teammates wrong, they decide to set out on their own after a mysterious visitor offers them a better deal than the Army is offering them, and Silvertone Towing is born. But it’s more than just a towing company. So much more…just like its owners.
When Bull gives Skylar a tow one evening, he’s immediately charmed by her trusting nature. And as their relationship grows, he’s wary of telling her the whole truth about who he is and what he does. But when danger comes calling, will she trust Bull and his friends to save her and become more understanding of who he is and what he does?
Susan Stoker has been a favorite author of mine for several years now. Her consistently well-written romantic suspense books keep me coming back time and time again. I really like that she gives us imperfect heroines and heroes each time. And when one or the other has some sort of disability, she never makes them helpless. The issues she tackles in each story seem to be well-researched and well thought out in ways such as how it would affect the character’s daily life. In this case, it’s our hero, Bull. He’s struggling with what kind of man the Army made him and what kind of man he is now. He’s a good man, but he can’t quite see that yet. And when Skylar balks at the revelation, it makes him feel even worse. But she’s young and a lot naive. So when real evil strikes, it opens her eyes to the shades of gray in the world. And she’s able to help Bull see the good in himself once again.
Susan Stoker consistently delivers quality entertainment if you’re looking for a quick and satisfying read in the romantic suspense genre.
I give Trusting Skylar by Susan Stoker 4 out of 5 stars!
This was a surprise – I wasn’t expecting to get to read this for another couple months!
Carson & Skylar’s story is intense, wonderful, and highly enjoyable! I love the beginning of this new series & am looking forward to Eagle, Smoke & Gramps getting their HEAs! Especially after the tease of Eagle’s book. The way all the guys rally around Bull & Sky’s relationship was very heartwarming in a BA Alpha sort of way. ; )
I love the way Carson & Skylar meet – he’s immediately protective of her & she’s drawn to him at least in part because of that. He makes her feel safe, and she makes his heart beat. The majority of the story is their getting to know each other, and us getting to know them. There’s the sweet, the fun, the steam & of course the (should be patented) chance for Sky to be a hero as well as Carson. She proves that just because you’re innocent & naive in a lot of ways doesn’t mean you’re weak. She is a BA in her own right!!
Love the story & so happy to have been able to immerse in it!!
: )
Loved this book! Great read, kept me interested beginning to end. Definitely going to continue reading this series. Great book one!
Another hot and steamy book from Susan Stoker! I love this new series.
Susan Stoker has absolutely done it again! Trusting Skylar is the first book in her new Silverstone series and it blew my mind!
Skylar is as sweet as can be. Good, kind, loving, caring, sympathetic and empathetic, and a brilliant teacher. She’s innocent and naive in the best possible way, always seeing the good in people. She just wants to love and be loved in return.
Carson, or Bull as his friends and teammates call him, is gruff and growly, a bit of a curmudgeon, and is immediately attracted to sunshine Skylar when he arrives to give her a tow. He’s got a lot of history, and it could be a major barrier between them. That being said, he just wants to love and be loved in return.
There is action, tension, chemistry, sweet moments, heartbreaking and heartwarming scenes, and I fell head over heels in love with these two as they worked their way to their own HEA.
I adored starting to get to know the other guys, and I cannot wait to read their stories!
If you’re looking for some delightful romantic suspense Stoker style, this will fit the bill perfectly! So, what are you waiting for? Dive in!
P. S. So so so so so excited for Eagle and Taylor’s story! I’m already fascinated and CANNOT WAIT to see how the story plays out!
This is a wonderful introduction to the Silverstone Boys! I loved meeting them! This story is written wonderfully. It has a nice flow and the Susan Stoker stamp on it. The characters are fun, smart and sexy. Skylar being a kindergarten teaches is lovely. She really comes off as the sweet, kind teacher who cares for her kids. Bill is exactly what one would think of him. Strong, quick witted and worried about everyone’s safety. On paper they don’t mesh but in real life they fit together well. She smoothed his rough edges and he offers her the feeling of safety.
Overall this is a good story. I really could feel for the characters. Meeting this new team is great! I can’t wait for their stories! Especially Eagle! The narration in here was nicely done.
I really love this author’s brand of romantic suspense. Trusting Skylar is the first book in a new series and the guys of Silverstone are worth getting to know. Skylar is naive but not helpless. She is sweet but strong and the best partner to help Bull open up and trust.
I loved being able to listen to the wonderful narration of the audiobook and switch to ebook and back without losing my place, all through the kindle unlimited program.

This is the first book in the Silverstone Series and it is a great one. Four former Delta team members leave the Army and work with the FBI and Homeland Security to rid the world of the worst of the worst. They also operate Silverstone Towing as a cover for their other job. This book features Carson “Bull” Rhodes. He goes out to tow a car for a woman having car trouble and encounters kindergarten teacher Skylar Reid. Bull is instantly attracted to her innocence and body and ask her out. He knows he’ll have to tell her about what he does but wants to soak up her innocence in case she can’t accept the fact he is a killer. This book has action, suspense, romance, hot steamy scenes and and will have you ugly crying. This is a great start to a new series.
FIVE STARS Trusting Skylar is the first book in the Silverstone series about a group of former military special operatives turned secret assassins (yes, please). If you’re looking for a swoony alpha-hero romantic suspense, this is your book. Highly recommend.
Having read almost all of Susan Stoker’s novels, I was excited to see the start of a new series. Once again, she has created a set of characters that immediately draw you into their lives and have you invested in whether or not they get their well deserves happily ever afters. In this latest series, four former Delta soldiers have had to readjust how they protect America from the evils of the world. I have to say one thing that I really liked about this series starter is that, Carson (Bull) meets Skylar under ordinary circumstances rather than most Stoker novels where the heroine is in trouble when she meets her rescuer. Don’t worry, there is still plenty of room for suspense as our former Delta operatives can’t avoid danger. If you enjoyed Stoker’s Mountain Mercenaries or Ace Security Series, you will definitely love this series!
Susan Stoker never disappoints. I’m a huge fan and I’ve known about this series since Susan announced it. I had faith that she would make her readers feel more than okay about a band of hired killers as
heroes. And she did!
For as jaded as Carson “Bull” Rhodes is, Skylar Reid, a woman he meets while responding to her request for a car tow, is just as innocent and trusting. But there is a spark between them and Bull doesn’t hesitate to act on it. As their relationship develops and Bull teaches Skylar to be as safe as she can be in the environment in which she lives and works, neither of them foresee the danger ahead.
Not to mention, Bull has to decide if he can trust Skylar with his and his best friends’ secret. That owning a tow truck company is just a cover for his real purpose in life.
This is what I love about Susan’s characters. Her men are always honorable, Alpha men, confident in just about everything they do (except, perhaps, with losing their hearts). Inevitably, there is a heroine to be saved. But Susan’s heroines kick butt. They may need help, but they are strong women and more often than not, they are saving someone right back, both in deed and in heart.
Susan Stoker is one of the very few authors I pre-order. She’s written another successful story, full of action, suspense, wonderful supporting characters and best of all, romance. I highly recommend this book.
4 stars . Another great book by Susan Stoker.
One of my favorite author’s She always keeps it interesting & hot. Loved it.
Holy cow this is a great book! I found this book to be absolutely riveting. I could not put it down nor did I want it to end. I will say this book, and possibly this series, is more edgy and graphic than her other books. I was a little surprised, but I think it fits in with the idea/tone of the book. As usual the characters are amazing and the writing engaging. I cannot wait for the next book!
She calls for a tow He has just returned from a mission and needs goodness so he goes and gets her they get to know one another he finds out that she loves her students and wants to help them learn he encourages her to get wasp spray for her classroom they have sizzling romance but then its time for him to go on another mission she has a hard time when he tells her what he does she talks to her neighbor and decides she can live with it but before she can tell him she and one of her students are taken her neighbor is able to help them find them with her connections the team rescues her because the student was able to make it back to her dad she tells him she can live with it and they love each other she moves in with him and have a happy ending
Trusting Skylar by Susan Stoker
Silverstone #1
Excellent introduction to what will no doubt be a splendid series! The first chapter set the stage, introduced four men that I admired, and made me want to see what would happen next.
What I liked:
* Carson “Bull” Rhodes: capable, precision shooter, great teammate, friends closer than brothers, excellent boyfriend material, really liked him
* Skylar Reid: kindergarten teacher, warm-hearted, caring, a bit naïve, great friend, fierce, loyal, really liked her.
* Smoke, Eagle and Gramps: business partners with Bull in Silverstone, teammates, exceptional men – can’t wait to learn who they will end up with when their books are written.
* Shawn Archer and his daughter Sandra: good people that needed a break as their life wasn’t easy
* Tiana and some other neighbors of Skylar
* Dayana and Corey Reid: Skylar’s parents…they made me smile
* The relationship that developed between Carson and Skylar
* The way Silverstone treated their employees
* All of it really except…
What I didn’t like:
* Jay Ricketts: so glad he didn’t get away with what he had planned
* Having to say goodbye to the characters and now having to wait for the next book to be available.
Did I enjoy this book? Yes
Would I read more in this series? Definitely!
Thank you to NetGalley and Montlake for the ARC – This is my honest review.

This is the book you will stay up half the night to finish! This is the story-line you will not soon forget! Former military experts now own a towing business which allows them to work behind the scenes to accomplish covert operations against sex trafficking, drugs, terrorists and other illegal activities. Get ready to feel anxiety, tension and drop some tears because this book has it all and more. Great read!
Susan Stoker always takes you on a page turning, heart racing journey with twists and turns you just never see coming. Loved this book and looking forward to the next one.
Susan Stoker doesn’t disappoint. The characters have great chemistry and the story line keeps you interested all the way to the end. Excellent.
