Trusting Gibson – amazing read! 5-Stars!
What I loved about Author KL Shandwick’s writing in the Gibson series, is that the problems Chloe faced when getting serious with a hot and sexy Rockstar with a legacy such is his, was that it seemed all too real. This made for one angsty and fast moving read.
Hearing from Gibson’s POV, speaking about the insecurities of being in a relationship that seemed on the verge of imploding, being scared that Chloe could no longer deal with the pressures of being with him, made Gibson seem even more of a normal male than God-like rock-star. Who would have believed that it was Gibson who was the insecure one, continually seeking reassurances that Chloe would be there for the long run.
Ms Shandwick’s writing was so descriptive, emotive, and on-point when through Chloe’s POV she shared the feelings of being with, and watching Gibson, her man, up on stage and performing for the crowds. Even her view when faced with a jealous woman determined to be destructive, and I could almost imagine standing there myself feeling those very same thoughts.
Of course, with the baggage that Chloe and Gibson have between them, their path to a deeper and trusting love didn’t run smoothly, and Ms Shandwick rewarded her readers with horrifying moments when Chloe’s past came back into play. This was most certainly another 5 or more star worthy read in the Gibson trilogy.
I fell in love with Gibson in book one, even if I wanted to slap him sometimes, and I continued to fall for him in book two.
A must read
Oh my freaking god!! I loved book one, but this?! This one I FLOVED!! It picks up where book one ended and Chloe is struggling with trusting Gibson which is understandable after what she had been through but in this, he truly does shine. I’m not going to tell you that he didn’t f*ck up or make a few stupid mistakes (you will have to read it to find out!). But what he did do, cemented him in my heart. Nothing is easy or straightforward for this couple, they both have issues but when they are together it is truly a beautiful thing!
This book put me through the wringer, emotionally it tore me up and put me back together. What a great read!!
After everything that Chloe had been through trust was a massive obstacles for her to over come and just when she feels her life is getting back on some sort of track it’s deals her a cruel blow but with Gibson by her side is it one she will eventually overcome. I loved reading more about Chloe and Gibson this book takes you on an emotional rollercoaster they were times it made me cry but also moments It made me laugh I would definitely love to read more of Chloe and Gibson.
Trust is one of the hardest things to do, especially when you have put your trust in someone whole heartedly and they have let you down in the worst way.
It’s something that Chloe struggles with. What makes her doubtful is Gibson’s legacy. He’s a Rockstar and can have women whenever he wants, but what he wants now more than anything is Chloe.
Life is not all Rock and Roll, after show parties and woman whenever he wants. Gibson has feelings, he’s a man first, who then became a Rockstar. People only see, Gibson the Rockstar not the real Gibson.
To me, I was not only reading about a Rockstar and all his flaws or about Chloe and her past, but a compelling story of love and trust. How life can change dramatically. How people cope with trauma, not just the person who has had a traumatic experience but all those around that it also affects.
Life can be cruel sometimes but I also believe, everything happens for a reason. You can survive anything, overcome anything if you have the right people around you, who love and care for you no matter what.
There is humour in this book that had me laughing out loud. It is also a sexy read, some very intense moments. I was drawn in to continue turning the pages. I would love to read more of Gibson & Chloe’s story. I hope there will be a book three. I couldn’t possibly sum up this book with one word because it was, brilliant, sexy, funny, compelling. I loved it.
4.5 stars
A brilliant conclusion to Gibson and Chloe’s story.
“I love you Chloe Jenner and I’m gonna make you love me back”
With a wild rock star reputation, the girls, the drinking, things going down at after-parties and clubs, Gibson had a lot of work to do as he tried to prove his love for Chloe, this meek, gentle, and fragile woman who had come from an abusive relationship.
Chloe had trust issues, to say the least, and even though Gibson basically threw himself at her feet, reminded her constantly that he was all in, he was up against the media, obstacles that kept being thrown in his path, but the biggest obstacle of all proved to be his past resurfacing which was something he couldn’t change so all he could do was prove himself and be the man Chloe needed now.
Chloe had jealous women and girls to contend with so the beginning of their relationship was anything but smooth sailing and this is the story of how they pushed through those barriers and climbed those obstacles together.
Life was never going to be normal for these two, this was evident from when they first reunited after all those years. Chloe still needed to grow in confidence a grown more backbone and
Gibson was still as cocky as ever and had a sexual appetite that was bordering on an addict. However Gibson’s redeeming qualities were his overprotectiveness and his patience with Chloe, that’s what made me grow to like Gibson more in this story.
“Sorry, okay, yes. I’d love to dance with you, but there isn’t any music yet.”
“Chloe…I’m a fucking rock star… I am the music”
There’s angst, heartache, and a wild rollercoaster of emotions evoked in Trusting Gibson and I loved it. The balance between the angst, the poetic words, and the heartwarming moments in-between all the sex, and yes there is a lot.
She taught me what it was to be intimate… to care so much for someone that they were the driving force behind everything I did from that moment on.
I’d love to read the next book and see what married life is like for Chloe and Gibson and thankfully KL has also written a novella and I can’t wait to dive into it.
TOLD IN FIRST PERSON DUAL POV, LEADS TO HEA. CANNOT BE READ AS A STANDALONE.
This book picks up where Gibson’s Legacy left off and it’s amazing. Chloe and Gibson struggle with having trust issues (mainly Chloe) and together they have their ups and downs and take you on an emotional rollercoaster ride. I loved the connection and chemistry between Gibson and Chloe. This book is a beautiful love story and it will tug at your heart strings….it’s definitely a must read.
This book starts right after the conclusion of Gibson’s Legacy, we continue with the story of Gibson and Chloe, where they both try to find their happiness. This book shows more of the side of the rockstar, the plotline kept me reading it and entertained, definitely a good story and characters It is steamy. It is not a simple story, it has complexity that will have you reading, some twists and turns but defiantly not the typically rockstar romance story.
Gibson knows happy that Chloe is willing to try, but he knows that his past and what her ex did to her is going to take time for him to build Chloe’s confidence and trust back again.
Gibson decides that he has to explain exactly how he feels and what he wants to help Chloe’s self-doubt. Chloe finally lets Gibson know that she’s scared, but after he calls her his girlfriend she knows that she wants to try, she’s never felt anything like what they have with anyone, knowing that she would regret not at least trying.
Chloe has so much to work through learning to deal with the media that surrounds Gibson, the fans the crazy ex, while she works through her feelings for Gibson and struggling to give her all to him.
Gibson stands by Chloe’s side through everything and even through his mistakes he fixes them straight away. He knows it’s going to take patience and love for Chloe to trust him and only hopes she will.
Chloe goes through A LOT of self-doubt, esteem and confidence issues around learning to trust Gibson. Then the unthinkable happens when Kace makes an appearance. Gibson is a changed man though, and Chloe finally sees beyond her first impressions of him. I totally enjoyed their journey.
I fell in love more with Gibson in this one. It was roller coaster ride I love being in especially the ending. I can’t wait what’s next from KL Shandwick.
The title of this book couldn’t be more perfect for this story. Trusting Gibson continues Chloe and Gibson’s journey where Gibson’s Legacy ended and trust is extremely important to Chloe but it is also something that she struggles with. Gibson is a mega famous rock star that every woman wants a piece of and add to the mix how the media often distorts what they publish, then you can imagine that they are probably going to have some bumpy moments along the way.
The first half of the book I felt gave us an insight as to how Chloe and Gibson’s new life together was evolving. The second part was unputdownable as the pace of the book changed and the couple faced situations that was so hard for me to read at times. I felt that the author did a fabulous job of showing us how certain scenes affected both Chloe and Gibson and it was heartbreaking to see them both go through what they did.
I love Gibson but there were times when I didn’t know whether I wanted to hug him or throttle him. I adore Chloe’s strength and determination which she shows an abundance of in this book. They really are perfect for each other. The love that they share and the chemistry between them is undeniable and I loved seeing the couple work to try to overcome the obstacles that kept standing in the way of them finding their HEAs together.
This is another great story from K.L. Shandwick and I’m feeling lucky that I have Gibson’s Melody ready to read as I cannot wait to see what Gibson and Chloe can achieve together.
This second book in Gibson’s series picks up right where book one finished which is awesome, it means no gap and no missing anything. Boy so much anguish and pain in parts of this had me reading with a massive lump in my throat, I do love stories that suck me right in so I just don’t hear or see anything else while I’m reading it and this definitely did that. There is so much content and so many different aspects of this couples lives and you just want everything to work out for them, Gibson has a great charm with his cheeky grins and hot looks. But he is honest about his faults and quick to own up when he knows he has done wrong, making him very loveable. He is also very loving and loyal, willing to give everything and protect those he loves to the maximum no matter the cost in money. Chloe has such a vulnerability from being abused by Kace before finding the strength to leave him, now she is trying to get stronger and learn to trust again until the unthinkable happens. The love between these two is strong and the bond they share will hopefully get them through all life chucks in there way. Honestly this series is a serious rival to the Ready For Flynn Series in popularity, it has everything and more that you could want from a romance and is well worth the investment of reading a continuing series. I read and am given a lot of arcs and early read books from authors in return for honest reviews but I am very happy that I actually bought these two books and still happier to give honest reviews for them. KL Shandwick has yet again shone through with her writing and I cant wait for more.
