This is a great paranormal romance. I really liked it! It is entertaining and fun to read. Sweet and steamy. The characters are wonderful together…
I voluntarily received this book for an honest review.
Trust the Wolf is a pacy tale of shifter discovery and romance, and it gripped me from the off. Emilia is our no-nonsense heroine, and human, or so she thinks. When she is accosted in a nightclub by a nasty man who calls her ‘little cub’, she’s saved by a hero who turns her life upside down. In more ways than one.
It helps that Jason, our hero, is dreamy gorgeous, so when he shifts into a grey wolf in front of her and names her Ms Bear, it takes little persuading for her to want to know more.
You guys, I loved this story so much. Ashwood’s tone is playful and light, the romance is sparkling and entirely angst-free, and the chemistry is off the scale.
The story is humorous, and the emotional tone breezy and satisfying. There’s a scene where Emilia and Jason stay overnight in the same room on a road trip, and the sexual tension is through the roof. It’s resolved in a super hot way – I’m blushing remembering it.
The supporting characters are fun, setting up nicely for their own stories in this linked series. I can’t wait to read on.
Trust the Wolf has made it to my top-reads list, and Ashwood is my new favourite author.
I enjoyed this book and the world this author built. Shifters have their own Big Brother watching out for them. I loved Emilia’s acceptance of her situation and her need to change how shifters and half-bloods were treated. Jason was hot and cold until he listened to his heart. There was plenty of steam and danger, and family support. I recommend this story, and I look forward to the next in the series.
I received an ARC through Enticing Journey Book Promotions, and this is my unsolicited review.
Loved it!
A really good start to a promising series. I enjoyed the author’s writing, the interesting world that was presented, I can’t wait to read about the rest of the characters.
I absolutely loved this book. It has a bit different of a take on the shifter world that is really interesting. It is action packed and a great romance. I was hooked with the story right from the beginning. I love the characters. They are strong, independent and relatable. They have great chemistry together. The ending of the book is perfect. I highly recommend this book and will be looking to read more from this author.
I read the prequel to the Shift series, Bearly Married, and absolutely loved it. So I couldn’t wait to get my hands on Trust the Wolf.
Ashwood is a brilliant writer. She has this amazing ability to pull the reader into a story and get lost in its pages.
Emilia’s and Jason’s relationship unfolded in a way that felt so real, and the world-building in this story was just incredible. And there was tons of action, which I really enjoyed.
I also loved how she connected this book to the prequel. Even though they can be read independently of each other, she wove the stories together beautifully.
Trust the Wolf has much more steam than I’m used to reading, so I did find myself having to skip a few pages here and there. But the story was SO compelling I didn’t mind – and for fans of this genre, that will be a big plus anyway. Just keep in mind this isn’t a YA read. 😉
I think Ashwood is a writer to watch for sure. If you like steamy paranormal reads, you will fall in love with her stories.
This was my first book ever from this genre and I must say, it did not disappoint!! The storyline was believable, which for me is important in a book. I was drawn in and couldn’t put it down. I just had to know what was going to happen on the next page!
Jason is just soooo smooth and sexy and Emilia is a perfect match for him. Their chemistry is off the charts and it’s all very well-written.
Absolutely loved the whole book! Can’t wait for more from this author!
TRUST THE WOLF by Zoe Ashwood is a wonderful story to read. This is a wonderful story to read by a brand new author for me. This is book number one in a brand new wonderful series that I loved reading. I highly recommend this story to everyone who loves reading about shifters.

Zoe Ashwood’s TRUST THE WOLF, is a wonderful start to the Shift series. Jason Evans is a Shade for SANA (Shifter Assembly of North America). His job is to report shifters without ID, but when he meets Emilia Vega, he doesn’t have it in him to turn her in. However, after discovering who she is, he needs to come clean.
TRUST THE WOLF was a fun and entertaining read. I enjoyed the plot. Zoe Ashwood did a great job laying out the shifter world politics. A lot of interesting and unexpected things occur during this story. Jason and Emilia are likable characters. Jason is a great guy. He is protective and strong. Emilia’s life has been turned upside-down. She handles it with grace and adapts well.
TRUST THE WOLF was skillfully written. The novel was fast-paced and kept me engaged. I’m interested in reading book two, TRUTH OR BEAR. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
AH! It had to be strange and scary when Emilia found out she was half bear and human. Then to fall for a wolf. All kinds of things going on. Finding out about her biological family, politics (which she does not care for), the guy she fell for was told to get into her good graces. So much, will it get better, the felling of betrayal? I like this book and the way the author dealt with all going on. I received a complimentary review copy of the book and I am voluntarily leaving a honest review.
Bearly Married is a sweet little story to introduce you to the Shift series. If you enjoy reading paranormal romance, this is right up your alley.
Christine and Alexandre get married weeks after they first meet each other, each for a different reason (that they don’t keep secret from one another), and soon fall in love. But once Alexandre takes his new bride back home trouble arises and things get touch and go for a while.
I loved both main characters. Christine is sweet and good at math (it’s important in the story) and Alexandre is strong and considerate, which is a breath of fresh air considering how many paranormal romance books feature alpha men wannabes that are actually cavemen. Alpha men are hot, cavemen put me off.
The story is intriguing, well-paced, the characters well fleshed out and endearing and the villains get what they deserve. What starts off as a marriage of convenience turns into true love. Expect some delicious sexy time to seal the deal!
Rest assured, the couple will get their happily ever after (this isn’t really a spoiler, is it? If a book doesn’t have a HEA, I want to know).
I look forward to reading this series and I’m curious to see if characters from Bearly Married make a cameo in other novels. I’d love that a lot.
I received a free advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
I didn’t realize that this was the first novel from this author until after I’d read it. Often you’ll find errors in the flow or plot within an author’s first, but that wasn’t the case here. The story was gripping right from the start and held momentum all the way through. As Jason – a wolf shifter – introduced Emilia – a half-bear shifter – to a world and family she didn’t know existed, we’re taken on a wild ride of reluctance, belonging, a fair amount of satisfying sexiness, and that happy end we always hope to stumble across.
While there’s a conclusion to this particular couple’s story, there is an overreaching plot that will no doubt continue onto other books, so some ends are left hanging. I, for one, am eager to jump into the next.
WOW!!!! What else is there to say. This was a really HOT story, and you will be missing out if you do not read it. I could not put it down it was that good!

I really enjoyed reading Trust the Wolf. Emily’s and Jason’s chemistry was hot. This book contained danger, suspense, humor, and romance. Couldn’t put it down. Highly recommend.
his is my first book by Zoe Ashwood and it will not be my last! Loved it! Fast paced, full of action and all kinds of shifters!!!! Ready for Book 2!!!!
4.5 stars
Great debut book and what a fantastic start to this series. Emilia has been happily raised her whole life as a human, but she is not as human as she seems. Once she is rescued by Jason in a club her whole world is turned upside down and is introduced to the world of shifters. It seems, according to Jason, that she is a half-blood bear shifter and once Jason proves to her that he is not crazy she begins to slowly believe him. There is so much protocol in the shifter world and by Jason not reporting her he is breaking the law he believes in that keeps the peace among the shifter species. Emilia finds her biological family, is falling in love with a wolf and is coming to realize that she absolutely hates shifter politics. Will Emilia adjust to life as a bear shifter? I can’t wait for this series to continue!! I highly recommend this book!
Great characters that have great chemistry which makes for a great book! I enjoy well written shifter books, and this easily falls in to that category. The plot is interesting and has some drama as well as romance. It’s a wonderful romance and I can’t wait for the next book! What a great start to the series I just loved this book and would recommend it to all romance/shifter fans. You cannot help but love Emilia and Jason they were great characters and they have so much chemistry he is a wonderful strong guy who is determined to protect her but I also liked that she knew her own mind. A really great read I cannot wait for more.
