Love and hate are not opposites, but sometimes they’re born from the same fire… know it’s not going to work. I can’t deal with this pain in the ass. I want him gone. It looks like I’m stuck with him, but I don’t have to make it easy…
Aidan: I didn’t ask for this, I don’t want this. I’ve been thrown into this dysfunctional team with a team leader who’s out to get me. The guy’s an ass, and he’s driving me crazy. I can hardly think straight when I’m dealing with him. Then everything changes when he pins me to a wall and kisses me…
Before Sean and Aidan can figure out what to do about that kiss, Team Maelstrom is thrown from the frying pan into the freezer. Fear and peril changes people, but will it change these two hot military men enough to keep the team alive? Can they work things out between them and get everyone back home in one piece? And what about the future?

This series is amazing!
I cannot say this is my favourite book in the series, but that’s mainly because enemies to lovers is not my favourite trope.
That being said I enjoyed many things in this book: when Sean and Aidan finally get their heads on straight and start to treat each other as actual human beings they discover they actually like each other a lot.
I loved the sense of camaraderie among the mean members that made it so that the two overly stubborn MCs become so much closer than they actually expected.
Audiobook review:
Overall – 5
Performance – 5
Story – 5
I really enjoyed this.
Michael Ferraiuolo is one of my favorite audiobook performers. He can make a less than stellar book shine. Fortunately, Trust Me, I Hate you was a good story to start with. I loved the different voices that Michael used in this story.
I’m not a huge fan of enemies to lovers, or hate sex, but this was a really good book. The sexual tension between Sean and Aidan was palpable. There’s just the right amount of angst for me in this story. While parts had me holding my breath, and others shedding a tear or two, I loved the found family aspect and the HFN that Sean and Aidan got.
A complimentary copy of this audiobook was provided to me but my review was voluntary and not influenced by the author and/or narrator.
It was the perfect follow up novel and I do love a good enemies-to-lovers story. I particularly liked Aidan’s character. Loved his sense of humor ( I think Aidan and I would make great friends) and how he took every situation in stride (even when Sean was being a straight A*shole to him). The after club chase-backed -against -a -dark -alley-scene was HOT!!
Liked how they connected at the end.
The side characters were really good too. I totally want to know more of the dynamic Nick and Matt share and also what Richardo’s back story is. He seems like this quiet, brooding but smart character.
Overall, it was a great read to work away the Mondays blues.
Want more !!!
Looking forward to the next book in the series.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is another offering of The Men of Fort Dale series. I am partial to military romance so these books are a must read for me. Team Maelstrom is down one member after their last mission. The whole team is still grieving but Sean Harris is the team leader and the member that was killed, Clint, was their intelligence officer and the second in command. As the military brass doesn’t care much for a team’s adjustment process, just that they want the team back out. Aiden Rider is just back from the Middle East and thrown right into Ft. Dale as the new intelligence officer and second for Team Maelstrom. Needless to say, the team was not informed and it was a surprise to say the least. Sean is livid and doesn’t want Aiden there. Aiden takes everything Sean throws at him and then some. So much so that the rest of the team is affected too. They both have secrets and worry that if things come to light it will ruin each of them. It takes an accident, Sean falling off a mountain, for these two to find some common ground. The team was way more adaptable than Sean was, but together they will become the best team ever. I loved Aiden’s attitude and patience. There were a few times I wanted to smack Sean with a stick. This was such a good story and I’ve loved both books. I requested an advanced reader copy from Booksprout and am under no obligation to leave this review.
