Holt and Baker had me hooked from the start. What a first chapter.
Such an instant attraction but his insistence he wasn’t looking for a relationship and her past kept putting up blocks.
I loved the character growth with these two and how they were able to move forward both has a lot of past hurt and insecurity. Both of them had a vulnerability and had to fight their own demons in order to move forward.
A roommates to lovers story about trust and moving forward in order to love again.
I was given an ARC but voluntarily chose to review
Eeek!! All the feels rolled up into one. When one of Graham Claire’s books shows up in my kindle I drop whatever I’m reading and start theirs. Just when I don’t think she can top her precious book, she always proves me wrong.
Most words can not describe this story except maybe perfection. Holt and Baker are perfect characters and their fun, flirty exchanges makes this a wonderful story. These are two very broken souls with deep trust issues that they need to overcome to have some kind of future. The story is entertaining and gives you hope and joy. I volunteered to review this ar.
Trust Me is the second of the Free series and tells the story of Baker, the rough around the edges woman from the first book and Holt, brother to Andrew, newly returned to New York from Montana. The two become roommates and try to fight their mutual attraction as each battle their pain from the past.
Baker and Holt are both complicated characters because what drives them are past hurts that neither wishes to talk about and yet would be the thing that sets them free. Baker is trying to rebuild her life, moving out of the shelter, working, and making her cosmetics and decides to not fight her physical attraction to Holt but not to allow it to become emotional. She is a character that you both want to help and also shake while asking what is wrong with her. Holt is a little more open but only to a point. He makes plans for the future but it comes with internal conditions that he can’t seem to get past.
The story has a good mix of humor, seriousness, and sexy. Characters from the first in the series make appearances and add to the story immensely. The book reads at a nice pace making it hard to put down once you open it with a HEA that is sweet.
After seeing his life implode Holt has returned to his hometown to be close to his family. He is working as a mechanic with dreams of opening his own shop but having Baker as his roommate is a curveball he wasn’t prepared for.
With the help of a great support system Baker is trying to heal from the emotional scars of her past. She is working at a magazine but her true love is the makeup line she is creating.
They start out as roommates however the chemistry between them is too strong to deny. The only thing standing between them is their trust not only in each other but themselves as well. This is an emotional story about love, family and beginnings that will have you captivated from beginning to end.
I’ve just recently stumbled across Grahame Claire’s books and I’m so glad I did! Trust Me is Holt and Baker’s story which was full of amazing chemistry and swoony moments! I loved both of the characters immediately and was immersed in their story! I loved every moment and highly recommend the book!!
Amazing read! I love Baker and Holt so much, though Holt made it hard sometimes! They have both been hurt and betrayed multiple times. They both just want to love and be loved. Baker wants a family to call her own. She was involved in a tumultuous relationship at a very young age and that shaped her, but she never lost sight of what was right. Holt has a horrible mother and her leaving at a young age shaped him. They developed a connection as roommates that quickly becomes more, but they have to let go of so many ingrained beliefs. They have to work for it. The journey is heartbreaking and frustrating, but I loved the highs and the lows. Awesome writing, wonderful characters! So happy to get another glimpse of Daniel! Oh and the babies characterizations were so funny and true! Another wonderful read by the awesome duo of Grahame Claire! I was given the opportunity to read a copy of this book.
I enjoyed the second book in the Free series. This is Baker and Holt’s story. They met when Trish (Baker’s best friend) and Andrew met and fell in love. Baker and Holt both have trust issues. Although Baker wasn’t physically abused, she was emotionally abused and controlled by her former boyfriend that she was with since she started dating. Holt deals with issues from his mother’s abandonment of the family when he was an infant. They have their issues throughout their relationship as each one wants to hear the other’s story but doesn’t want to share their own. In the end, they work it out, they both start to heal and move forward together. This book was a bit easier to read than Trish’s story since her abuse was pretty bad and her ex was still around so the danger was still present in her life.
I received an ARC copy of trust me through Book Funnel in exchange for an honest review.
Baker needs a place to stay and Holt needs a roommate. Both have difficult pasts that make it hard for them to trust but can they find a way to trust each other? Can they help each other heal?
From the first page, I knew that Holt & Baker would become my new favorite couple by Grahame Claire!
Holt & Baker were imperfectly perfect for each other. I loved that both of them had pasts and together they were stronger to address them. There were some great twists that kept me flipping the pages.
I hope Marlow’s story is next! These characters and their stories are wonderfully written and I can’t wait to read more in this world.
I voluntarily reviewed this book.
WOW! Holt & Baker had me all up in my feels. These two have very difficult pasts to overcome, and their journeys just had me stuck in my chair until I got to the end of the book. I loved seeing these two interact and figure out how to live with each other. This book was so beautifully written! I loved it SO MUCH!!!!
I fell in love with Holt and Baker. The story grabbed me from the beginning and I felt as though the relationship developed organically and didn’t feel forced. It’s sweet, swoony, and sexy!
Trust Me drew me in from the very beginning, and kept my undivided attention till the end. This story is slow burning, angsty, secrets, family and friends. Oh Holt I think I’m in love with you! He’s sweet, charming, and struggling with past/present happenings. But one thing is certain he loves family, and Baker.
Baker is working hard to move forward with her life, she’s smart and caring, but also uneasy about being hurt again. Their banter was fun, and they were so in tune to what the other was feeling. One thing they couldn’t deny was the sizzling chemistry they had for eachother. I liked the family/friends dynamics in the story too. I can’t wait to read the next story.
What can I say? Holt and Baker are hot as hell! Their connection is hot, sexy, sarcastic and electric. The story is heartbreaking, sexy, and very well written. The characters are very well developed throughout the story!
Holt is feeling guilty, betrayed, lost, death of his best friend, and his lack of trust in relationships.
Baker has feeling of guilt, blinded by manipulation, control and trust issues.
Both are broken souls that need to get over their pasts before they could move forward with their lives.
This is deep, emotional, and complex. Not just for Holt and Baker, but conflicts involving the relationships within his famIly, his Dad, Marlow and Andrew.
They show them all at their strongest, weakest and most vulnerable moments.
I loved this story. Each story in this series is getting better and better! This one is really the best by far. I received an ARC and offered my honest review
Both Baker and Holt had issues from the past that seemed like a huge obstacles in the way towards happiness. I honestly thought they would never find a way for HEA.
The story kept me rooted to my seat and cheering for them to open up and let the feelings heal them.ike said it was a close call.
All in all it was a good read and I’ll definitely be picking up Grahame Claire books in the future.

Roommates/Friends/Lovers Holt and Baker start off as roommates that at times seem like they get a thrill of irritating each other while fighting an intense attraction that neither one really want because they both have secrets and trust doesn’t come easy for either one. Holt was this amazing character that I instantly loved. He was caring, loyal to his family, worked hard but at times you could see some vulnerability peek through. The more we learn about what he has been through and his insecurities with his estranged mother you can’t help but fall hard for him. Baker has her own secrets and just wants to make the things she thinks is her fault right. These two are amazing together but have a lot of trust issues to work and Baker just wants to be there for Holt, but he has a lot he needs to work through. I loved the side characters and the family dynamic this group have.
The second in the series is just as good as the first! There are a few storylines that continue which would be better if you read the first book but can definitely be read on their own! Holt and Baker’s story is definitely one of triumph and determination. They both had to make the hard choices to trust in each other so that they won’t be hurt like they were from their previous partners. I loved reading their story and seeing if they worked out their problems or not! Highly recommend!
Good, well-written romance that is writes with the slow build-up of trust between the two characters who have huge walls around them which they slowly tear away as events assault them.
The story is hot, but also tender between Holt and Baker, with twists and turns because of their pasts that each of them hides and fails to share.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book
Hold on to your coveralls things are about to get messy!!!
Honey flavored lips and a grease monkey man should never work, but be ready to have your emotions worked over cause this one’s coming in hot!!
When everyone who was important in your life lets you down it’s very hard to trust anyone regardless of their words or actions. Baker is trying hard to change this and the first big step is leaving Paths of Purpose and becoming room mates with Holt Dixon.
Baker isn’t the only one who has been let down by the ones they love. Holt was burned by two important people in his life as well as a very tragic event that’s better left buried.
Both are not ready to share their stories and definitely not ready to move on, but what if they can’t stop what’s happening and they’re both in way over their heads before they know it. Will their pasts be the end of something good or will it help build the future neither knew they wanted.
I loved Baker and Holt so much. They both were dealt a crappy hand but maybe they found in each other the reason to let go and move on.
This is a standalone but I suggest you read Trish and Andrew’s story first, Free Me
Five Grease Monkey Stars for Holt and Baker! I knew Trust Me was going to be amazing from the beginning shower scene. Holt and Baker drew me in from the first page and kept me up way past my bedtime to learn their story. I laughed, I cried and just wanted to tell them how the other felt so many times. I am loving the entire Dixon family and also the mentions of characters from the Paths to Love series. Grahame Claire brings characters with all the baggage and yet some how manages to heal them one tiny piece at a time. I will happily read all the words these ladies write.
