Raine Taylor has one goal – justice for her murdered sister. She knows Genie’s husband strangled her and left her in an alley – Peter had been threatening to kill his wife for years. The police said there was no proof Peter Northrup killed Genie. So it was up to Raine to make him pay. When Detective Connor Donovan answers a call about a trespasser outside Northrup’s house, he finds a woman running … woman running down the street. When he tries to stop her, he’s left holding her hoodie as she strikes out like a ninja then vanishes like smoke.
Connor quickly realizes Raine is his mysterious trespasser. Now he has to figure out why she was outside Northrup’s house at three A.M. Raine isn’t his usual criminal – she’s a schoolteacher who coaches a tae-kwon-do team of under-privileged girls. And he’s wildly attracted to her.
Raine needs to stay away from Connor. She has a plan to deal with Northrup, and she can’t get involved with a cop. But like two magnets drawing together, she can’t resist him. Can Connor help her find justice for Genie? Or will her sister’s killer claim another victim before they can stop him?

Wonderfully written, fast paced story. I was invested in Raine’s justice from the word go. I loved her character; she was strong, independent and motivated to help young girls learn to protect themselves. Connor is the yummy, hot, sexy detective who helps get involved with her cause.
The story is action packed, thrilling and filled with wonderful characters. Some steam.
Awesome read! Kept your interest from beginning to end. You can always count on a great read from this author.
Enjoyed all of the Donovan Family Series Books.
I enjoyed the plot and the characters. Raine and Connor were both good strong characters and Raine’s quest to prove her brother-in-law murdered her sister was interesting. Editing was good as well.
Good plot but..
It just felt short for me because I wanted more suspense and less he likes me he likes me not. It gets old and no one likes repetition. And another thing that bugged me is why leave the bad guy part to very end and instead focus on their lust filled supposed romance that basically has had them doing it against a tree. There was no sense of time and excessive description and inner monologue dragged this story for me that I skipped a lot. Trust me don’t read this story if you are looking for suspense because you’ll be left wanting.
Good read
An interesting story. Rain & Connor are wonderful characters and the storyline keeps you wanting to read straight through to the end.
Loved the story.
Connor and Raine have an amazing chemistry all through the book. With Raine trying to get justice for her sister and Connor being the detective who tries to stop her, their love story starts a little unexpectedly.
But the attraction that they share is mutual and amazing and neither can stay away from each other.
The story was great fun all the way especially Connor’s relationship with his own family which was very cute.
Enjoyed it.
I really liked the premise of the story, and when the story stayed with the premise, it was a great read. However, I found the graphic sex distracted from the good story. When the characters were between looking for clues, they were continually thinking about sex and the male lead’s privates…both of them. A little bit of sex can sometimes move a story forward, but too much reduces my interest. Out of the 259 pages, I probably skipped 70 to 100 pages. Without the graphic sex I would have rated it 4.5 to 5 stars.
I truly didn’t want this book to end. Excellent story telling and I will be following for more books by you.
Loved this book! This was a wonderful story, a page tuner. When I had to stop reading I kept thinking about the characters and what would happen next. Engaging characters and a story that just kept getting more and more interesting!
I loved the characters. His family is great.
Enjoyed!
Love the series
Better than the average “sexy man must protect the woman he loves” story, more depth and more realistic. I look forward to reading the rest of this series.
Insipid characters that are apparently more driven by hormones than a teenage boy. Even though she is supposed to be a Black Belt, she voluntarily takes a beat down to help her student?? Really? Lame.
4 stars
Raine has promised to get justice for her murdered sister. The cops say it was a mugging but Raine knows it was her husband Peter. Raine begged her sister to leave him because he was beating her but she always refused. Now she visits his house every night to watch him. Connor is a homicide detective and
answers the call about a prowler at Peter’s. He chases the prowler away and pulls off their hoodie. The next day he goes to a tao-kwan-do match and meets Raine. He is instantly attracted but there is something about her that’s familiar. He realizes she’s the one he chased off and wants to find out what she’s up to. Raine doesn’t want to get involved with a cop but Connor is irresistible. Can they prove Peter killed her sister before he comes after Raine?
Suspense and sex. First time reading this author and I really enjoyed this story. The only thing that got me was at the beginning Raine was brave and tough. My the middle she was scared and a little clingy. Connor would get mad at her and it would be his fault. Even with those things I couldn’t put it down.
The chemistry between Connor and Raine is immediate and off the charts. Neither are looking for anything lasting, but their attraction is strong and soon overrides their reticent natures. This is a fast-paced tale filled with captivating drama, nail biting suspense, and hot, steamy passion. It’s a story that grabs your interest from the start and holds it throughout, making this hard to put down. The Donovans are a strong, compassionate, and passionate family and each of their stories are well worth the read. I highly recommend this extremely entertaining and engaging series!
Margaret Watson’s writing is scintillating and immediately drew me in when I read the first sentence of “Trust Me” (nook). She has a wonderful way with words and the emotions portrayed are realistic. I loved this book and plan on reading more in the Donovan Family series.
Trust Me is the 4th book in the Donovan Family series and can be read as a stand alone. I haven’t read any of the other books in this series and I didn’t have any problems. Although as I got to know the Donovan family through this book and it made me want to go back and read their stories too. This book had a great plot and a steady pace. It kept my attention til the very last page. I really enjoy this book.
Connor and Raine were both great. Connor was sexy, protective, loyal, determined, and a cop need I say more. Anyone who’s ever read my reviews knows Cops, firefighters, Military men, or really any man in uniform just do it for me! They’re like my weakness.
So to say I loved Connor would be an understatement. The man made my knees weak. Although he wasn’t written perfect he was human and did stupid guy things. He said sorry and he earned that Trust!! Raine was this sassy, kick butt tae-kwon-do teacher with a stubborn streak a mile wide. I loved that she was strong and could take care of herself. She was also loyal, caring and when she let her walls down and showed her vulnerable side I as a reader couldn’t help but love her.
Connor and Raine as a couple has some smokin’ hot intense passion. Like can’t wait another minute rip the clothes off passion, but I loved that as they fell in love they also had that sweet slow love making too. Their relationship wasn’t bump free but they respected each other and I liked that. It made their love feel realistic. The bad guy was well written, evil and creepy without being ridiculous. I loved all the Donovans. They were a sweet tight knit family and I want more of them. I am thinking of reading Mac and Brendan’s books but I really want to read Mia and Quinn’s stories! This book is a HFN book so no epilogue 🙁 Over all a great read and I would recommend it to anyone who loves Romantic Suspense!
