From a New York Times bestselling author comes a new story of love and money…My story starts with a plunge into the cold water of Manhattan’s harbor. A strong hand hauls me back onto the deck of the luxury yacht. Christopher was supposed to be my enemy.Instead he protects me with fierce determination.
Stunning and visceral, it evokes all the right sentiments. From pity to love to despair to apathy. Skye masterfully gives us back story to the Poor Little Rich Girl , Harper St. Claire. her life swinging from Mom to Dad, penury to riches, wants to needs. Her rebellion is anticipated and expected beaches she has to suffer through the conveyor belt girlfriend of Daddy Dearest. The flavour of the season women and her constantly changing stepsiblings.
She visits Daddy Graham on his boat “Liquid Asset” and meets the latest one.
This time is different however. Christopher Bardot is unimpressed stepsibling of this year, who saves her life twice in a short span of the cruise. Somehow he wiggled his way into her heart and her life changes forever.
“he looks like some kind of a conquering Warrior, like a knight from the old medieval days. the kind who would have defended the peasants, but who would also have demanded his due ”
The story is a great intro into the tumultuous relationship to come. I’m excited to read it
4.5 “Medusa” stars
“Nothing is so cold and so calculating as money in a void where love and hope had been.”
Loved re reading the prequel to Harper and Christopher’s story. Typical of Ms. Warren’s style, it is beautifully written, with imagery and plot twists to satisfy even in a short such as this.
Poor little rich girl, Harper, or so it seems. Her white Knight and step sibling Christopher, and their love hate relationship fostered even more so over the years.
Harper is a trust find child. After her parents divorce her father married a new woman almost every year. Her mother married a few rich men to help maintain her social status.
When Harper was fifteen she met Christopher a stepbrother. She knew the marriage was temporary as well as his stepbrother status. Yet they kept in touch for three years until Harper invited him to her art exhibit.
Harper’s character is young, reckless, and impressionable. When she’s needed money her father always provided it. Her mother on the other hand was cut off financially.
Christopher’s character is intelligent, a man of his word, and a protector. He admired Harper’s father and wanted to do right by him.
While the description gives the reader the impression that this is a romance between stepsiblings that not accurate. They met while her father was married to his mother. The marriage was temporary therefore the stepsiblings were no more. They are free from the forbidden aspect. Except the trust fund has stipulations that causes further issues on their status.
This story did not appeal to me the way I had expected. I was anticipating some sexy forbidden scenes with the stepbrother. That’s not what this book is about. It’s an enemy to lovers story. Christopher is the executor of her trust fund. Since Harper relies on daddies money to help her mother thrive Harper tries to charm her way into getting her inheritance. I’ll pass on this concept. Spoiled rich brats don’t appeal to me.
This is my first read by this author, and I am still undecided. You don’t need to read this book before reading the first book because this is in the first book, so just start with book one. This was a quick read getting to know the characters and learning how they first met.
This is the Prologue to Survival of the Richest.
This is the start of the story of Christopher & Harper. It begins when she is 15 years old. She’s on spring break on her father’s yacht with him. He gets married frequently, and there are step siblings for a while. At this time, there is a stepbrother on the boat, who is Christopher. He’s protective of her, but distant. Things are complicated between her mother and father after their divorce, and with her. There are puzzles in this prologue. This is very well written. I can’t wait to see what happens going forward.
Trust Fund is the beginning of this amazing story, a story of power, love, and betrayal.. secrets that still lurking to make Harper’s life even harder.
wow I just started this series and it seems like I can’t/want to stop, Harper and Christopher have me glued to my chair and wanting more and more about their story..
Harper’s life was perfect, she was beautiful, smart, very well educated, talented and sophisticated, her father loves her and will do anything for her, her mother loves her and will sacrifice her own happiness to see her shine but life and circumstances are about to change forever and now Harper has to learn how to survive in a cold world, full of people wanting to see her done..
“I learned early not to trust men or money. Both of them have a way of disappearing when you need them most.”
Christopher a strong, handsome guy and very enigmatic we still not so sure about him, we’re just learning more about him and his intentions but there is no denying there is so much chemistry between Harper and Christopher, no matter what the chemistry was very strong since the very first minutes.
“He looks like some kind of a conquering Warrior, like a knight from the old medieval days. the kind who would have defended the peasants, but who would also have demanded his due”
The story of Harper and Christopher is just starting and the intensity between these two already feels so strong. Love the way he treats her and protects her from the very first moments without even knowing her, love how he keeps seeking her no matter how many times she tried to dissuade him..
I really can’t wait to read more about Survival Of The Richest!!
“You’re plenty better, Harper. Don’t you ever doubt that. You’re fucking gold.”
Great
A wonderful story written by Skye. She is the daughter of a very rich man. But lives with her mom who has nothing, she spends a week a year with him. She tries to help her mom who has nothing. Now her dad has died and she still can’t help her mom.
Do you have a thing for hot stepbrother stories? I sure do!
Harper spends the summers aboard her father’s yacht. Being the daughter of divorced parents, and who, by the way, dislike each other, she lives with her mother and takes the holidays to spend time with her father. Despite being the daughter of a wealthy man, Harper can not be considered privileged. Her father pays only for her education, her mother did not receive any money in the divorce, so Harper works to pay the bills and support her and her mother, who makes through various marriages her mission to continue leading the life of luxuries she is accustomed to. During the period when her mother is not in a relationship, their lives are difficult, but she does not ask her father for help because she is afraid that he will separate her from her mother. Harper is an heir with no money.
In a summer, Harper knows his father’s new wife, who also, by the way, marries as a change of clothes. Knowing that these women never last, she never bothered to meet or approach. But this time it will be different. Her new stepmother has a son, and however much she tries, it will be impossible to ignore Christopher.
Time passes, the two become friends, communicate by letter, until at age eighteen, Harper takes a blow from fate that will bring about a drastic change in her life. With the death of her father and being his only heir, she will finally be able to give a decent life to her mother, but a condition of her father will destroy what she most cherishes, her friendship and feelings for Christopher. Her father will appoint him guardian of her inheritance, which she will only have access on the age of twenty-five. And so, Harper and Christopher will never understand each other again.
Great introduction to Wonderful characters. Father with multiple marriages, mother struggling to get by, young girl trapped in the middle. A stepbrother and friend. I know the stepbrother had to “change” for the series but it was almost too drastic.
Best prologue I’ve read.
That’s one hell of a prologue. It’s actually also my first read from this author and I absolutely loved it!! Wow! I can’t remember when a prologue ever hooked me like that. Talk about tension.
An unputdownable prologue where you can’t just ignore how the story continues, you gotta dig in now.
The Story:
Harper’s Daddy is rich, which doesn’t necessarily mean that she is, because in this case it’s quite the opposite. She knows the world of rich and poor like no other, living them both at the same time. She never much cared for her parent’s new spouses or their appendages until Christopher, her stepbrother, comes along and he doesn’t disappear as they usually all do after a while. He stays, at least to some degree. If that’s a blessing or a curse is another thing. Harper has to learn early on that money and men are not a constant in her life.
Harper is the epitome of the poor little rich girl in other people’s eyes. Daughter to a billionaire who has divorced her mother and married a new woman, giving her step siblings, almost yearly since she was 8 years old. This year is no different. He’s married a woman named Louise Bardot who has a son older than her named Christopher. This is the beginning of their tale.
Skye Warren quickly grabbed my attention from the beginning of this story with words so captivating it automatically painted a picture in my mind and wouldn’t let go. These two go through a traumatic event together when they first meet and even after the divorce of their parents secretly remain in contact with each other. I enjoyed the way the author took those correspondences and gave you a glimpse into each of their personalities bring them further to life.
This ends with a cliff hanger which made me quickly purchase the next book to continue their story, as I’m sure you will once you read this one.
Holy Medusa Trust Fund!!!!!!
Wow!
Holy crap… this prequel was good. So, so good! I can I just say that it makes me really freaking happy that I don’t have to wait absolutely anything to dive into Survival of the Richest because it’s already sitting pretty on my kindle.
Perfect amount of information to suck you in and leave you craving more.
Can we talk about that cliffhanger??? Whoooo…. deep breaths.
Diving in to the next book right now!
Five intriguing stars! It is a tempting way to introduce you to a new series.
Every time Skye Warren announces a new book release my heart beats impossibly fast and my soul craves the stunning writing that has bewitched it since the first book I read of her. Words are a dangerous weapon. They have the power to create and destroy. So, Skye you have my heart and my soul surrender to your will. Your writing has the power to save me or to break me beyond repair.
This time she delivered an intriguing and seductive novella to introduce us to the Survival of the Richest Series. It was a clever move. Here, you will find the missing pieces for the puzzle that is this tempting series. This prologue will help you to understand Christopher and Harper’s story. A fall will seal their fate but it won’t end there. The fierce attraction between them will be denied but it won’t be forgotten. There is more and they future is uncertain.
Christopher is, and will always be, the white loyal and respectful knight even though he also has his demons. He will be a master in hiding his real intentions and denying the feelings that could be stronger and all-consuming just because of moral and a last will of a man. It is going to be really hard and difficult to honour and respect them when his soul desires to fall into the temptation called Harper. But who is really he?
On the other side we have Harper, the poor little rich girl. She has daddy issues. After her parents’ divorce she is forced to face every new woman who marries his Father. Each marriage leaves her with more step siblings than she can count because those marriages don’t last more than a year.
However Christopher is different. He defies her. Something drawn her to him like a firefly to light.
What will you do if you are attracted for the man who you are supposed to hate?
A prologue for The Survival Of The Rich, Trust Fund brings you Harper and Christopher.
A rich trust fund girl meet her daddy stepson of the month, Harper already prepare her self for another a** stepbrother. But Christopher is not who she think he is. The boy who jump the boat to save her from drowning, become her friend. Her crush. Her special secret. Until her dad died and his will read.
As always, Skye Warren have ways to hooked you to her writing right from the first page. Definitly need to read the full book to see Harper and Christopher story go on. I know its gonna be good.
Revolving door step-mothers and step-siblings are the story of Harper St Clair’s life. Don’t get attached is the mantra her mother instills in her. And, it works until she meets Christopher Bardot. He’s driven, studious and serious. He saves her life, becomes her friend, her champion and her protector. Now he must carry out her father’s wishes even if she learns to hate him because he is a man of his word.
Like the men in my life, money is only temporary.
Loved it! This prologue is full of chemistry, heartache, rebellion, sexiness and emotions as the appetizer for the main course – Survival of the Richest.
I absolutely fell in love with Harper! She is independent, artistic, and kind. She is also fiercely protective of her mom. Harper goes from rags to riches as she lives with her mom and visits her dad. Although she is provided for, it is only for her and not her mom, leaving Harper to come up with some creative ways to make ends meet. Both parents marry many times over which is how she meets Christopher, son of one the many wives.
Despite their slight age difference Harper and Christopher find common ground and keep in touch after their parents’ divorce. Christopher is on a path to create financial freedom.
Fate steps in and Christopher must decide between his heart and his honor. I cannot wait to read Survival of the Richest and see where the pull between Harper and Christopher will go…..
Well written and delicious!

I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review.
Trust Fund is the Prologue to Skye Warrens soon coming Survival of the Richest. In this prologue we meet Harper St. Claire when she is fifteen years old. Coming to stay with her dad and newest step family for a week on his boat. These new wife’s and kids never last long with Harper’s dad who is a very rich man so she knows better than to even get to know any of them. However with Christopher the latest stepbrother she is drawn to him. Yet the next year he is no longer her stepbrother but Harper writes to him. Now in college and having a art showing Harper invites Christopher never expecting that night to change her life forever or throw Christopher into it in a way that she doesn’t want him there. Her life is falling apart and I for one can not wait to get my hands on Survival of the Richest to see what happens. I loved this prologue and it has just enough information in it to keep you reading and then wanting more. This is a must read for sure.
This novelette is a great teaser to the novel that will soon follow. I just finished it and cannot wait to read the rest of the story.
Harper is the daughter of a super billionaire. Although the child supports her dad pays can only be spent on the exclusive school she goes to and the luxury loft she and her mom live in, she adores her dad. Whatever happened between her parents to cause the divorce is still a mystery. She only knows they hate each other now. Food is scarce and there is no money for other necessities, so her mother keeps marrying men who do not stay loyal just to support them.
This is the story of how Harper meets Christopher, son of one of the many wives her father goes through in the last ten years. Their friendship is one that will last longer than either of them could have predicted.
I will not give away the plot of this prologue, just know unexpected events will set the stage for a story that you will not want to miss.
I am voluntarily reviewing this book. I thank the author for sharing a copy with me.
This is a prologue to Harper and Christopher’s story. What a great beginning! Angst, passion, secrets, and family drama. My curiosity is piqued! I love Skye Warren’s books and I am confident this is no different. I highly recommend reading this book.
