Well written
Love her books
So glad no one lost their faith.
I love Karen Kingsbury and her books are awesome! The Baxter family series is awesome and never disappoints! I never tire of her books and she truly writes with a Christian theme and scripture too! Romance and believable story line of trials and victories lived out before God! So refreshing to read fiction that is God based! Thank you Karen Kingsbury for writing and providing a story that provides your readers with the real answer to life’s ups and downs and that is GOD!!!!!
As always, Karen doesn’t disappoint. I really love her stories and how she actually tells of families that aren’t perfect and have to survive what life throws at us. Believing in God doesn’t always mean life is easy and without struggles, but means we have a Father to lean on and help us through.
Wonderful, real story that makes you realize God is with us every day. I cried and prayed thru out the book
Karen Kingsburg again never fails me. From the first page you are into the book like no other author has done for me. The characters you feel as if are your family. Great read, be ready to laugh, and cry. Awesome book.
Very inspirational. Awesome book. Awesome writer.
This is truly a Karen Kingsbury book. Delightful, well written, and inspiring. With the description of young love that is so emotional, I was taken back over 50 years when my husband and I first started dating. Our love was so passionate, yet restrained, like Tommy and Annalee. If you’ve been reading the “Baxter” books, you will be reacquainted with many of the characters. Though this is a stand alone book, the author includes just enough history so you can understand all the emotion that is present.
Anyone who has followed the Baxter family will want to read this story of their grandson, Tommy! Tommy shows a maturity far beyond a high school senior as his girlfriend, Annalee, is diagnosed with cancer. I admired how both Tommy and Annalee had a deep faith in God and wanted His will in their lives. My heart went out to Reagan, Tommy’s mother, when Tommy announces that he wants to be a police officer. Reagan has to learn to trust God with her son no matter what his career is. Truly, Madly, Deeply reminds us to trust God rather than worrying about our health or our safety. I received a complimentary e-book through NetGalley. This is my honest opinion.
Another fantastic Baxter story! This one focuses on Tommy who wants to be a police officer, much to the dismay of his mom Reagan who fears what will happen to Tommy in that profession. It also focuses on his girlfriend Annalee who has a health problem that could end their relationship. With her signature style of bringing hope to hopeless situations, the author drew me into the story from the beginning and held me captive until the satisfying conclusion. It goes without saying that the plot brought tears to my eyes, but that was an expected bonus of reading a KK book. This book can be read as a standalone, as can any of the books in the series, but I would highly recommend that readers get all of the Baxter books and just binge read. They are that good!
A totally clean read that I can share with my teen granddaughters, so extra star for that! (We are up to six now, at least.) All of the Baxter books teach a life lesson and the one in this book is heart-warming and chilling at times. Enjoy the journey!

I purchased an autographed copy of this book. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions expressed are my own.
Faith and fear and peace. 9/11, cancer and police. A deep and heavy read all wrapped in the arms of Christ. Difficult topics are handled in an expert way. This is a book you definitely need to be in the right frame off mind for – it’s not a light read.
Karen Kingsbury is a amazing author. In this book you will see what is happening with our favorite Baxter family. You will learn about the stress and love the police officers have for their police families. The encouragement, faith and fear that Tommy, Annalee and their families are dealing with. This book is filled with faith, hope and love.
I had such high expectations for this book thanks to recommendations and reviews on Goodreads but for me, it just didn’t bring the punch I was hoping for. Maybe because this is part of a longer list of books in the Baxter Family series.
I found this book to be unbelievable on many levels and while I get that it’s a work of fiction, I have to think too much creative thinking can ruin a storyline. I also struggled with the spiritual aspects of this story. The way it was worked into this novel didn’t sit well with me. Especially Tommy’s thoughts towards the end of the book.
4.5 stars.
In true Karen Kingsbury fashion she has written another book that totally tugs at your heartstrings. From the very first word you get pulled into the lives of these two young people about to start the journey of their lives. You are right there with them page after page and you can almost feel what they are feeling. Thank you so much for such a great book!
I just finished listening to the audio version of this book and it was wonderful. The book really hit home for me since I work in Law Enforcement. Karen’s books always inspire me and remind me how we need to put our trust in our Heavenly Father and not the world. I have never been disappointed in any of the books by Karen Kingbury that I have read.
Once again make sure you have a box of kleenex when you read this Baxter family novel. I have only read a few of this series, but those I have read have been wonderful and this one doesn’t disappoint. I especially enjoyed the main story line because I have 2 friends with teenagers who are fighting similar battles. This can tear a family apart or bring them closer together. The relationship between Tommy and Annalee was amazing, and their Christian faith was strong. When it did weaken, they were so supportive of one another. The other story lines were equally well done and so realistic. And I especially liked how both Tommy and AnnaLee’s siblings were so tender and caring.
Kingsbury has the ability to bring everyday life and people alive and make the reader feel they are an important part of the story. This is one contemporary read you won’t want to miss.
** I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher through NetGalley. Opinions are mine alone. I was not compensated for this review.
Karen Kingsbury is an inspirational Christian writer and is an auto-buy author for me. I’ve loved all her work and was excited that the story of the Baxter family was continuing in this book. This book is part of a series, but can also be read as a standalone.
In this book, Karen Kingsbury touched on many hard and emotional subject matters. The book brings out all the feels when talking about first and everlasting love, the worst days of life dealing with a life-threatening illness, the struggles of parenting, the history and aftermath of 9/11 and the difficult decision of choosing a career for the first time and how that can affect the family. It’s a story about real life, joys and challenges. The challenges may seem overwhelming, but the Baxter family’s strong faith in Christ is what gets them through it and makes them stronger as a family. It was a breath of fresh air to read a faith-based story. It gives us hope in a time when many Christians may feel like they are being tested. We may have struggles and we may fail, but if we keep faith front and center, things will work out in the end. A good reminder during the difficult times of 2020.
It’s been about two weeks since I’ve read this book and it is still with me. I still think of the characters and everything they went through. I’ve had a few hard days lately, and I find myself thinking about how the characters in the book would have handled it. It has brought me much peace and renewed my faith just a little bit more.
I really liked this book and would highly recommend it to anyone that likes inspirational books.
Thank you to NetGalley, Atria Books and Karen Kingsbury for providing me an Advanced Reader Copy of Truly, Madly, Deeply in exchange for my unbiased review.
Truly, Madly, Deeply is the latest book in the Baxter Family Series. It can be read as a standalone but is richer if you have read Karen’s other books about the Baxter family. What I loved most about this book is the realness. Karen writes inspirational fiction and sometimes that can be too syrupy sweet with no basis in reality. Karen ‘s characters show that vulnerability, faith and strength can go hand in hand. This book covers 9\11, cancer and the difficult realities of being a police officer in today’s climate all in a way that makes you want to laugh, cry and hug your loved ones. If you like the Baxter family series in, this is a can’t miss!
Thank you Net Galley for the opportunity to review this book for my honest opinion.
