This book begins with Cupid’s Cafe – a mysterious and great backdrop for people needing to find true love. It therefore caught my interest right from the beginning and it kept my attention with interesting things – a stalker after a Pulitzer Prize winning woman, a man with emotional and financial struggles trying to protect her who falls in love with her, and dangerous, threatening situations. Truly an exciting romantic suspense book, my favorite genre!

A romance built on a lot of sorrow.
Rose is a journalist who speaks to perpetrators of crimes and writes a series of articles about it. One of the perpetrators she spoke to killed Jeff’s family, his wife and daughter. The articles written about the murder and the killer make it harder for him to resume life, even after 5 years.
Rose herself has not had an easy time as a result of the series of stories about criminals. She was threatened, called for rotten fish and had a stalker behind her. Because of all this she has developed panic attacks and she no longer dares to leave her home. Her journalist work also suffers from this. She hasn’t written anything for years.
An invitation from Cupid’s Cafe makes her leave her home, curious who wants to meet her. There she meets Jeff again. He himself is not happy with the meeting, it opens again the wounds of his grief.
When Rose offers him a job as her bodyguard, he sees this as an opportunity to save the house he lived in with his family. Slowly understanding for each other develops and love blossoms.
Jeff only dares to give in to his love for her when he almost loses her.
Beautiful, realistic and emotional story where both main characters grow and dare to let go. Both face their own past accompanied by the fear of moving on. Tears in my eyes when Jeff says goodbye to his wife who has been dead for 5 years.
