Not much bothers him…until his best friend’s little sister moves to town.Carefree personal trainer Drake North is long on charm and short on connections that do more than skim the surface. His main ties are to his family and his best friend, so when his friend’s little sister moves to town, Drake promises to look out for her. But when he offers her his spare bedroom for a few nights, he might be … few nights, he might be getting in over his head.
High-end honeymoon planner Mackenzie Shaw can take care of herself. In her job for the rich and famous, she leaves nothing to chance. Moving back to Nashville gives her the opportunity to finally get what she’s always wanted—a fulfilling career, a close-knit group of friends, and a permanent address. All she has to do is ignore her years-old crush on her brother’s best friend.
Though opposites attract, Drake has no interest in settling down anytime soon. But when Mackenzie travels overseas for work and he finds himself following her around the world, he’s forced to admit there’s nothing shallow about his feelings. Can he prove he’s ready to dig deep and convince Mackenzie he’s everything she needs?
True Colors is a stand-alone novel in the North Brothers series (which is a spin-off of the Hale Street series).

When Mackenzie temporarily moves in with her brother’s handsome best friend Drake, Mackenzie knows not to get involved with him. Drake knows that even though Mackenzie is beautiful, he promised her brother to take care of her. Mackenzie is starting a new branch of the Honeymoon planning business and doesn’t want a relationship at this time. Drake is commitment-phobic. Maybe a fling would help or maybe not. I received a free copy of this ebook from the author. This is my honest and voluntarily given review. I love this book. I like how Drake opens up to Mackenzie. I love how Mackenzie stays focused on what she wants. There is definite steam when these two get together. I love how this book ties with the Hale Street series, but it can definitely be enjoyed as a standalone.
I have read a number of books by Amy and I couldn’t tell you which one is my favorite. Each new one I read becomes a favorite. The new ‘North Brother’s Series’ are related to the’ Hale Street books’. All are great and can be read as stand alone but so much better in order.
Drake North is a carefree, wealthy, fun loving and all around good guy. He loves his live. He is a personal trainer, and also
works at the family owned store. He loves women and with his good looks and charm he doesn’t have to look far for dates.
Most or one time as he doesn’t like commitment. His life was changed when he was 14 and lost his father.
He is very loyal to his family and one long term best friend, Ezra who has been around since high school.
Mackenzie Shaw is Ezra’s little sister. She has had a really hard life with a father who is never around, and a mother who
thinks of her self first and the kids later or not at all. Mackenzie one true friend and love is her brother who has always been there for her. Mack is moving back to Nashville to open a branch office of ” To the Stars” a high end honeymoon planner. She has been saving for a long time to be able to buy a house/home and finally have something permanent.
Ezra is out of town and asks Drake to pick Mack up at the airport for him. Now neither Mack or Drake have seen each other for 10 years. One can do a lot of changing and growing up in 10 years.
Both Drake and Mack can’t believe it when they meet for the first time…. It’s wonderful.
When the apt Mack has planned to move into falls apart, Drake offers her his spare room …. let the fun begin.
Guy code is one never hits on his friends girl and never, ever touches his sister.
Humm what do you think is going to happen when a single handsome guy and a beautiful single gal share a small space.
Especially when Mack is all grown up now and knows what she wants. Mack had a teenage crush on Drake.
Get a copy to find out what happens when Ezra finds out what Drake has done. How Drakes and Mack come to terms with there different outlooks on life, when secrets are shared and family gets into it all.
This is a fast moving story with great characters. Hope you give it a try am sure you will love it too…
I can’t wait to see which North brother is next… I know it will be a great read too…
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Another great North family love story!
I thoroughly enjoy the way that Ms. Knupp has portrayed the dynamics of the North family and how she expands on it in each book showing that family is an integral part of their lives.
As Drake & Mackenzie try to navigate their pasts, their growing feelings and their hopes for the future, you will feel their pain; you will laugh; you will want to smack them both upside the head, lol; but you will be rooting for them the entire time.
Drake has some serious hidden romantic skills that even he didn’t know he possessed!
Can’t wait for more Norths!!
Falling for your best friend’s little sister isn’t a good idea!
Mackenzie is Shaw is opening a branch of their successful high-end honeymoon planning company in Nashville. All of her plans have gone out the window when she finds out the new apartment she was going to rent isn’t livable. Her brother’s best friend offers to let her stay with him until her apartment can be fixed.
Fitness trainer Drake North was definitely the footloose and fancy free type of guy but when he offers his spare bedroom to his best friend little sister, he didn’t expect his life to change but Mackenzie helped him realize what he really wanted to do. Mackenzie was attracted to Drake and made the first move but when they were interrupted by her brother, Drake had to decide which he wanted more, the friendship with Ezra or love for Mackenzie.
True Colors is related to the Hale Street series and you really need to read all of the author’s books because they are worth putting on your keeper shelf!

We are back with the North brothers onf Nashville. Handsome men whose losses and past have had them avoiding love and relationships. But fate intervened in the last book, and Cole is now in a thriving relationship.
Drake is the youngest of the brothers. He’s a personal trainer, with no full time job, carefree, not interested in working in the family business full time, and is with a different girl each week. What few know is that he’s got his secrets hidden behind his charming smile.
When his best friend asks him to take care of his sister who’s returning to town, Drake is surprised to find out that the lanky teenager is now a stunning woman.
Mackenzie is a honeymoon planner for the rich and famous and about to open an office in her hometown of Nashville. She had a crush on Drake when she was young and knows he’s a womanizer. But when an unexpected situation has her staying with him, a friendship develops.
Neither wants a relationship but once again, fate and life surprises them. But can they find their HEA or will their past , believes, etc keep them apart?
It’s a touching story about how our childhood affects us as adults. About friendships, family and new beginnings.
Another entertaining and engaging story by this talented author.
I was entrusted a copy of this book. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
