STARTING OVER… Brave. Bold. Brainy. One woman reached for the gold, one for the law, one for the university, and one ran as far from home as possible. But often, the best laid plans fall apart, and Starting Over is the only thing to do.True-Blue Texan, Book 1 –A fish out of water. University instructor, Katherine Kirby, reluctantly faces a new city and a new job. How could she, who was used … could she, who was used to teaching eager undergraduates at a prestigious college, relate to a class of adult high school dropouts seeking an equivalency diploma? She has no family, no love in her life, and no choice but to jump into her new position and do the best she can. After all, it’s only temporary while she gets her career back on track.
Her new students, however, begin to touch her heart. Especially the tall, dark Texan in the second row.
Nick Martinelli’s presence in her class is a secret — from his parents, his customers and the entire city. But his interest in Katherine is no secret. In his desire to teach the teacher, however, Nick learns a little something himself.

Love the author’s character development and the realist situations. Thanks for a good read
A teacher who is doing afternoon classes to help adults get their high school diploma. She learns to become involved in their stories and find meaning in her life again. Very moving with some suspense thrown in.
Wonderful read–shows how a real man can be romantic and protective of a woman without using foul language and crude behavior.
This was a page turning, action packed, very entertaining with a happy ending. Thoroughly enjoyed this book.
Lovely story; page turned romantic mystery
This was a good book with some twists and turns in it and tells of love and family.
A good read. When i saw the title, I thought it would have some horses and it would be on a ranch. What a surprise. One of the main characters was a college professor but she was teaching GED classes. The other main character had his own construction business but had never finished high school and was in her GED class. I was able to read this in 3 days which means I didn’t want to put it down.
This book was interesting from the beginning! This teacher did not give up on her students, especially one who she fell in love with!
Great read.
Good story. Nice characters.
Did not like this book. Don’t waste time reading.
The title is a bit odd
Not the outcome I was expecting, good read
The characters all show growth and that’s inspiring.
The book was a little melodramatic for my taste but interesting enough to keep me reading until the end. There were distracting typos and wordsthatranintoeachother that were a bit annoying. (Actually, there were only 2 words at a time that ran into each other but there were A LOT of instances of that throughout the book which is why it was soannoying.)
Easy read original plot.
I liked the book because it gave a accurate portrayal of GED students.
Three people with a tragedy in their pasts are brought together through a class preparing testing to get their high school diploma. Original and full of love for family, longing to experience one’s own family and realizing that letting go is the hardest when you have experienced deep loss but, allowing oneself to love again is a miracle in itself. Great story.
I love Texas romances!
Nice story about following your dreams but being open to changes that could alter your life.
