ANGELI know what you’re whispering in the car as you pass me by.Hitchhiker.When you see me walking along the side of the road with my thumb out, you’ll probably keep driving without giving me a second glance. You probably think I’m foolish. Naïve.You might assume I’ve made some bad decisions. You might think I’m too young to be on my own.You might be right.TRAVISI love my job, but driving an … right.
TRAVIS
I love my job, but driving an eighteen-wheeler comes with a certain stereotype. When you hear I’m a trucker, a specific image might come to mind. Uneducated. Dirty. Perverted. Rough around the edges and a little bit dangerous.
But the truth is, I’m not any of those things. In fact, I’m pretty far from it.
You’d be surprised to find out I’m one of the good guys.
EXCERPT from Trucker
I’d only been driving for about a mile when I saw someone walking along the side of the road in the distance.
As I got closer I saw the backpack and blonde hair. She turned toward my semi before sticking her thumb out.
“Sht,” I whispered, recognizing her right away. Even from a distance, I could see the hopeful expression on her face, and I felt something twist in my chest.
What the hll did she think she was doing? Hitchhiking was dangerous.
For a split second, I thought about not stopping. I could just keep on driving and forget I ever saw her.
But just as fast, all the possible scenarios played out in my mind. All the things that could happen to her. All the sick, depraved people who could be the ones to pull over and lure her into their vehicle with the promise of a safe ride.
I’d never picked up a hitchhiker before.
Had never planned on it.
But there was no way I could leave this girl out there on her own.
Trucker is a standalone novel.

Small town, overly sweet, coming of age, instalove romance. Both H and h are innocent and somewhat immature but cute together. It was a breath of fresh air with it being so cute.
Light and fluffy…just what I needed to lift my spirits up during these quarantine days. Angel and Travis are charming!
I am not a fan of bad boys, cocky alphas, and all-around jerk romance heroes, so I was happy to find a book about a good guy hero. I was not disappointed – Travis is a hunky, protective hero without being unnecessarily possessive and obnoxious. This is a sweet yet steamy story about a hero and heroine, both virgins, who find true love. Travis picks up an innocent, runaway hitchhiker and brings her back to his small town where she finds the home she never had.
This is a wonderful book about first love, first times, with a lot of friendships and a bit of heartbreak all thrown in. When two strangers meet, Travis and Angel, there’s an instant connection that after days of trying to keep it in check explodes on the pages. Angel is a troubled teenager from a broken home and a mom in jail. She takes off to california to meet her mom and hope to start a new life with her once she’s out. Along the way she meets Travis is brings her to his town until he can get her to California. Once there she finds people who she loves to be around, her relationship with Travis grows and it gets harder and harder to leave him for California. If you want a sweet romance then this is the book for you.
I enjoyed this book. Loved Travis and Angel. I was hesitant to read a story with a male virgin, but it turned out to be a sweet love story.
Jamie Schlosser is a new author to me, I have been excited to check out this series. Trucker is a perfect break from all the angsty novels I have been reading. It is a sweet, heart warming, sexy, overall wholesome book!!
Angel needs to get across the country to see her Mom. Money is tight so she decides to hitchhike… Will she make it or end up being a statistic?
Travis loves his job as a truck driver, the open roads call to him. He does not fit the mold when you think of your average trucker; he is young, fit, and well kept. Will he be doing a good deed or risk his own life by picking up a hitchhiker?
Super cute, steamy, feel good romance! I can’t wait to see what Jamie has in store for the next book!!
Travis finds Angel hitchhiking and picks her up. She is very forthright and she tells him what is up right from the beggining. She is two weeks away from turning 18 and pretty naive, he is 21. She is heading for California and he is going there for a delivery in 3 weeks. They have a very quick connection and this is pretty quick love scenario. He realizes really fast that he wants her to stay but must let her go. There is a little OW drama but it is taken care of pretty quickly. Will Travis be able to let her go? Will Angel realize what she is looking for is not where she expects to find it? This was a sweet book and I really enjoyed it.
This book took me a minute to get in too. I would absolutely put this in a Y/A category. Travis drives a Semi truck and picks up a very young female hitchhiker, (as a Mom I cringed so much) on one of his runs, he knows there are bad guys out there and him being a super sweet nice guy takes one look at this innocent looking angel and feels compelled to rescue her.
Angel is on the run trying to make to Californa to find her Mom the only relative she has left. She is 17 and vulnerable wanting to save money she tries Hitch hiking but thankfully gets picked right up by Travis who convinces her to stay with him for three weeks and then he will drive her out to Californa when he has a job.
Travis was a winner to me I loved his carefree attitude, he went from zero to Alpha real quick with Angel, being so young there relationship bloomed very slowly and sometimes I felt I was reading a jr high novel. They grow on me, and they both grow up quite a bit in the book, they turn more into more mature adults. Travis was the star he’s protectiveness and love was all-consuming.
Audiobook Review
Overall 4 stars
Performance 4 stars
Story 4 stars
This was a really sweet (like so sweet you’re going to possibly get cavities) YA/NA romance. The hero, Travis, is truly book boyfriend hall of fame material! He was so considerate, kind, loyal, supportive, protective, and just like the series name – an all around good guy. Throw in the fact that he’s a 21 year old virgin and I was SOLD! It’s so rare to see that in romance books (a virgin hero) and I really wish more authors would consider it for their books. Most of the time, it is the heroine who is a virgin and the hero has a vast sexual history. In Trucker, we hit the safety jackpot, with both the hero and heroine being virgins. Speaking of the heroine, I did feel that Angel was a little too naive and trusting throughout the story. I understand that she’s 17/18 years old, but her entire goal/plan wasn’t well thought out and hinged on someone she hadn’t seen or heard from in 10 years. Angel was still really sweet though and I loved her and Travis together. Yes, there’s instalust/love and even a bit of OW drama that I could have done without, but I loved that the story was low angst and just a feel good romance.
Aiden Snow and Jillian Macie did a great job narrating and bringing this story to life. Both are new to me narrators, but I look forward to listening to more of their performances. Jillian Macie especially was wonderful as Angel. I felt like she captured the energy and enthusiasm of the character really well, though I did have a little trouble differentiating between characters sometimes. I also really enjoyed Aiden Snow’s performance and Travis’s chapters were definitely my favorite. I do think that his voice was a little too serious, however, and that it didn’t completely match with Travis’s age and personality.
Overall, Trucker is a book that will put a smile on your face and leave your heart happy. I’m excited to see what happens next in Colton’s book!
I enjoyed this sweet and fun read. Plenty of humor, lovable characters, and sexy times had me wanting to keep turning the pages. I look forward to reading more from this author.
** spoiler alert ** After loosing her family, Angel is determined to get to California to re-meet the only family she has left. Travis loves life in his small town and always thought that he was happy. Neither expected love to come along when it did. Will Angel be able to find the one place she belongs? Will Travis be able to protect and love the woman he has fallen for?
I absolutely loved both of these characters. I loved how down to Earth Travis was and that he wasn’t out to hurt others. I loved how Angel lived up to her name and how she always viewed people as pleasant until proven otherwise. Great story and cannot wait to read Colton’s!
4.5 shining stars
This was a sweet book . I enjoyed how both Angel and Travis were getting to experience true love together. It was a refreshing light read. The plot of the book kept me entertained, I read the book in one sitting.
I really enjoyed this book! The connection between Angel and Travis is really special. In the end when she has no one he is there for her and she ends up having someone in her life when she loses the last person she has in her life. He gives her meaning in her life when everything seems to fall apart. This is a MUST READ BOOK!!
Trucker and Angel were so sweet together and he was definitely one of the good guys. This was a sweet story with some heat. I really enjoyed the characters and the story. Definitely one I would read again.
I really enjoyed Angel and Travis. The way they clicked and got each other. It was a great read and I can not wait for note from Jamie! I love this series!
The good guy finishes first!
Travis Hawkins isn’t the type of guy you’d expect to drive a truck, but he does and he likes it. Long hauls are what he enjoys best, and for him, life is great. The last thing he expected was to meet the woman of his dreams walking along the highway. However, one look at her and his heart goes out to her and his needs to protect and provide for her is irresistible.
Angel Thomas is a girl on the run, sort of. Just shy of her eighteenth birthday, she’s taken off from her foster home to travel across the country to reconnect with her long lost mother. But the journey isn’t all she thought it would be, and as a last ditch effort to say funds, so decides to hitchhike the rest of the way. Hitchhiking is a dangerous action, but luckily for Angel it’s Travis that picks her up.
What started out as a good guy giving a ride to a lonely girl turns into a something neither ever thought would happen.
Trucker is an exciting, sensual, love affair that will have you cheering for the good guy. I loved watching Travis and Angel get to know each other and fall in love. The way they want to be there for each other in more than just a physical way is endearing. Their passion is intense and sincere, they each have a heart of gold.
For a debut book, Jamie does an excellent job of telling a compelling story keeping the angst light and easily worked through. I really loved this book and couldn’t put it down. Angel is adorable, Travis is impressive, and the secondary characters are exceptional.
I look forward to what is to come in this series and from this author.
I really liked this story. It was sweet and romantic. I purchased the second book as well, just because I really liked the writing and the characters. If you are looking for something sappy and just just want the story to make you smile, this one did it for me. It does have a few flaws, but overall I thought it was well done.
Angel was very lucky that it was Travis who picked her up when she was hitchhiking. When Angel’s aunt died, leaving her alone in the world she was put in foster care. Just before she turned 18 she decided to look up her mother in California, who she hadn’t seen since she was a child when her mother left her and her father. Since she didn’t have much money, she decided to hitchhike. When Travis saw her on the side of the road, he recognized her from a truck stop so he pulled over to give her a ride. Travis was 21 and not your average trucker. He really was a good guy and wanted to help Angel if he could.
I enjoyed this sweet romance and rated it 3.5 stars. It was nice that Travis was so protective of Angel and offered to take her all the way to California. Yes, their attraction was pretty fast but they were together 3 weeks, spending almost every minute with each other. They had lots of fun while they were getting to know each other so it wasn’t surprizing that they fell for each other. But both being a virgin was weird. Especially Travis at 21 and a man!
This is my first romance book with a Trucker as the leading man. I found the book to be entertaining despite the fact the leading lady wasn’t even 18 when she met the trucker.
Nice, typical, steamy romance.
