She wants something real. He wants something now. Together they’re trouble in USA Today bestselling author Adriana Locke’s sexy and funny twice-in-a-lifetime love story.
With his shameless grin and let’s-play swagger, carpenter Penn Etling leaves women wanting in Dogwood Lane. What do they get? Avery Perry knows: a one-night stand. She’s been there. She remembers every hot pulse as if it were … hot pulse as if it were yesterday. But Penn? He doesn’t remember a thing. Now he’s making new moves, and Avery’s not falling for trouble…again. Is she?
How could the beautiful stranger resist him? Avery is going to be a challenge for the bad boy. She’s the kind of woman who digs deep—deep enough to see there’s more to Penn than meets the eye. But first she has to give him a chance. She has to say yes. Could she also be the woman to make him change his playboy ways?
When these two come together, it’s hard to pull them apart. But with love and trust on the line, can Avery and Penn get what they both want? This time for keeps?

I hadn’t read any of the other books in this series and I wasn’t lost at all. Penn is funny and made me laugh pretty much throughout the whole book. He could turn any conversation into a naughty one, everyone thinks he’s this player and he is BUT there’s more to him. When he first lays eyes on Avery he REALLY wants to know her.
Avery just moved to town and is working on who she wants to be. She doesn’t need any distractions not even good looking ones that make her laugh. She turns him down for a date on many occasions and I have to laugh with his reactions and his friends reactions.
I love small town romances where everyone knows who you are, and what everyone’s business is. Throw in laughter, good advice and love and I’ll read it. This book runs through your emotions and I freaking loved Penn and Avery, separately and watching them grow throughout the book. I will definitely be reading the previous books in this series!!!

Title: Trouble
Author: Adriana Locke
Series: Dogwood Lane #3
Wow!!! Trouble was everything I thought it would be but it was much more than what I was expecting. After reading the other books in the series, I couldn’t wait for Penn’s story. Like-Could. Not. Wait. I knew there was so much more to him than what meets the eye and I was completely right.
So without giving much away-Penn is the ultimate playboy. Never settling down or ever wanting to. He had some history with another character and I honestly thought that would be who he’d wind up with. But I was wrong. When he lays eyes on the heroine, BAM! He wants her. Little did he know that she would be the ultimate challenge and it wouldn’t be like every other woman he’s met.
I loved this book so much! The banter between the characters was hysterical and their journey was incredible. I highly recommend reading this story!
I love small town romances and Adriana writes these so well. Back we go to Dogwood Lane in this book for Penn and Avery’s story and how wonderful this trip was. Once I started it there was no putting it down.
Penn is the gorgeous and he knows it stud around town. He has women falling at his feet but fortunately he is not too much of an ass about it, he seems to take it as his due, and makes sure that he just wants to have fun with no ties. Avery is the daughter of a famous actress. She leaves behind the fake world of Hollywood and arrives in Dogwood Lane to live with her Aunt. But it is not the first time she has been here, ten years ago she met Penn in what became a night changing night by the lake for both of them, but at the time she told him her name was Abby.
When Penn and Avery meet again there is immediate off the charts chemistry. Though Penn thinks he has met her before he is not sure because her name is different. Avery is so upset that he doesn’t remember her and because she is sick of feeling used and unforgettable to men, that she refuses his advances time and again.
Fate has other ideas for them and they keep running into each other and finally decide to compromise and become friends, but with no benefits. Penn cannot believe that he is doing this, but he is willing to do anything to spend time with Avery but is terrified of it becoming more. Avery wants a future with someone who will see only her, and she refuses to compromise.
This story is both heartbreaking and hilarious as these two dance around each other, both of them having suffered in their pasts are unwilling to admit their feelings for fear of hurt and rejection, even if their friends and the rest of the town think that they are an item. Adriana paints such a realistic picture of a small town and it’s residents with everyone cheering them on just as I was. A very enjoyable installment to the Dogwood Lane series, probably the best one for me. I might just have to go back and read them all again!
I’ve been waiting for Penn’s book since book one in this series and I’m so glad I got the chance to read an ARC.
Penn was one of my favourite side characters since Dane’s book. I love his charm, humour, thoughtfulness. He’s funny, loud but not obnoxious. I love how he cared for other people. Avery came to Dogwood Lane to change the scenery. She knew what she wanted and I’m so glad that she didn’t fall for Penn immediately. I mean, yeah, he wanted her since day one but she turned him down which is something that doesn’t happen to Penn. Ever.
So they start as friends but we all know how that turns out eventually…;)
I love how this book turned out. It was a little slow burn which is not something I usually like but it was done perfectly in Trouble. I really recommend this book but if you haven’t read the previous books, my advice would be that you do that first.
5 stars.
ARC provided via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I love Penn. I’m not sure if I really need to say anymore than that I feel like this sums up the book well.
He is just so amazing. I loved how he had to get in touch with his feelings, it was brilliant. I really enjoyed the storyline in this book and I loved the characters and the glimpses of the others in the series. I couldn’t get enough of this story at all. It is just so good. I look forward to reading more about Dogwood Lane.
My new favorite Adriana Locke book and hero. “Bad boy” Penn is the best kind of trouble. He is sexy, sweet and so worth it (even if it took him time to accept that.). I wasn’t so sure about Avery at first but she won me over in the end. Loved watching Avery and Penn discover what they needed, both together and separately. The innuendos and banter between them had me smiling. Their spark was evident from the start. And that ending…all the feels. Hoping we get another visit to Dogwood Lane. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC received via NetGalley.
Penn Etling, He’s the complete package, Confident, Charming, Cocky. Not only does he talk the talk, he walks the walk, and he always delivers!! Except for one thing, no commitments, no relationships, and definitely no dating, one night stands are what works for him. He gets what and who he wants, when he wants.
Omg i was hooked right from the word go!I knew i would be, its Penn Etling, a man with so many layers you want nothing more than to peel him open.
When Avery Perry turns up in town, Penn has a new fixation, but she seems to be impervious to his charm. Avery is sassy, sweet and totally loveable. She knows what she wants, she wants it all, someone who loves her for her and the whole package, marriage kids and her own Hea!
Adriana has absolutely out done herself with this book, the chemistry, the connection, the sexual tension leaps of the pages. The growth of this couple is written so perfectly that you fall willingly into their world, share their laughs, their secrets, their hopes, their dreams and their anguish !! Penn totally blew me away, from a man so against all things love to a man who knows he’s met his soulmate. His charm grows and oh my giddy heart, the passion grows from flaming to volcanic!! I definitely needed to keep a fan handy !!Avery has probably become one of my favourite heroines, even fighting her feelings and losing herself to Penn she stays true to herself. The dialogue between these two had me emotionally in tatters yet at the same time sharing their laughs. Quirky little twists, that Adriana lets us know at the beginning only endear this couple to us even more. This author doesn’t just write great romance, she goes beyond that and makes every step feel real and keeps your emotions teetering on the edge. Trust me, Trouble and Penn Etling will forever be etched into your heart !!!
Trouble by Adriana Locke is a fun small town, second chance romance and is the third standalone in the Dogwood Lane series. I have enjoyed reading this sweet and steamy series since I first picked up Tumble, book one in the series. Staying up to date with all of the previous characters while delving deeper into each of the newer characters is my favorite aspect of series’ like these.
Penn Etling has been one of my favorite Dogwood Lane characters from day one, so finally getting my hands on Trouble was like Christmas in July for me. Penn is everything I expected him to be and more. He is the perfect combination of fun and cocky with the a massive, loving heart. Alexis was his perfect match. The banter between her, Penn, and Matt had me constantly laughing. Adriana Locke creates characters that are so real and easy to connect to that I felt like I was drinking a beer and giving Penn a hard time right along with everyone else.
I voluntarily received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
PENN! I have been impatiently waiting for his story since the moment we met him. The title fits the man, too. He is 100% pure trouble and you can’t help be love the man.
Penn is easily my favorite Dogwood Lane resident. He is confident and everything he says has had me laughing throughout the series. Avery is new to Dogwood Lane moving their after escaping a life she wasn’t happy with in LA. The moment she see’s Penn, she recognized him immediately as the man she met 10 years prior and had a night she would never forget….Penn, however, doesn’t remember that night but is drawn to Avery.
They start as friends but the chemistry quickly sizzles between them and feelings start to shift. However, Avery continues to fight. Though, you can only fight for so long. Penn, I can’t help but love him. Trouble shed a whole new light on him and it only makes him more loveable.
This is the third book in a series, however, each book can be read as a complete standalone. Trouble was worth the wait and is a MUST READ!
Penn is the ultimate good time boy we have met him in previous books in this series and he has always come across as a fun guy who brings innuendo to an entirely new level I must admit I never though that he would settle down and it has taken a special kind of woman to do it. Avery is that woman she is strong knows what she wants and goes after it Yes he may be attracted to Penn but she knows his reputation and has no intention of becoming another notch on his bed post Only problem is the attraction between them is off the charts Will she give him a chance and do they have a future together You will have to read to see
Finally!
Penn’s story!
I can’t tell you how much I’ve been looking forward to his book! He’s so funny and witty and has some great one liners.
The banter between Penn and Avery is hilarious at times, he likes to speak his mind no matter what it is.
Avery i liked her, she was a little hard to read at first but the more you find out about her the more you like her, well i did anyway.
Penn as i said before was funny and i loved him from the moment you meet him in the previous books, he’s that friend that can’t wait to see settle down and get knocked on his behind.
I’ve really liked this series but this one has to be my favourite.
Penn didn’t know what he was looking for until he found her!
Penn Etling had a playboy reputation in Dogwood Lane but the only girl that actually understood him was Abby but she disappeared after a one night. No one expected much of Penn beyond being a friend because he helped everybody that needed help even without them asking. Avery Perry left Los Angles to live with her aunt because she was tired of the superficial people using everyone to get ahead including her movie star mother and director father and she needed to get away from it.
Penn knew there was something about Avery but what he didn’t know that she was the girl that had left. I’ve been waiting for Penn’s story because he’s been the best friend/sidekick throughout the series and he needed to get his HEA especially in this series. Adrianna Locke has written a very good series that make people want to live in a small town where everybody knows you and your family.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I loved it from the first page and couldn’t put it down! I think this might be my new favorite. This whole series has been great. I received this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
Oh Penn! Ive been waiting for his book since this series first started, and I really enjoyed it! Sweet, sexy and some scorching hot chemistry and a really enjoyable storyline. Sad to see the end of this series!
Here comes Trouble!Truest words ever spoken and when trying to keep your heart in check and in walks Penn Etling with his southern boy charm, smooth talking ways, good heart and amazing manners who also happens to know his way around tools a girls heart is definitely in Trouble!!
Trouble by Adriana Locke is amazing. What can I say Penn is the best and hot and all we can ask for. Avery is going to be a a challenge for Penn but oh what a challenge it will be. Penn and Avery are amazing and Trouble will be an amazing read that will keep you hooked? Adriana did an amazing job like always make sure yo one click.
I love small town romances and I was excited to read Trouble book 3 in the Dogwood Lane Series and let tell you this is a book you will want to read, it was everything I expected and more.
This is Penn Etling and Avery Penn’s second chance at romance and it’s everything you want in a great read, it’s emotional, it’s funny and it’s full of love and romance.
I loved Penn and Avery after all what’s not to love about a swoon worthy hero and a sassy, funny heroine. This couple ticked all my boxes and I’m sure they will tick yours as well.
This author really paints pictures with her words and she brings Dogwood Lane to life, her characters are easy to connect with and are stories are well written and I highly recommend this book and this series. All that’s left for me to say is please one click this entertaining enjoyable read.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher through NetGalley

Wow! Freaking loved Penn and Avery’s story! My words can’t begin to describe how awesome this book is. The writing was flawless and heartfelt. As different as they were their relationship worked. I loved seeing how Penn slowly changed his ways and how fiercely loyal he was to those close to him. Fantastic read for 2020!!
We finally get Penn’s story! I’ve been waiting for his HEA since Tumble, and I was not disappointed in the least.
Adriana Locke keeps getting better with every book I read, and Trouble is my favorite book of the Dogwood Lane series so far. Also, I have to note that Adriana is one of THE BEST authors at banter between characters. Seriously. I can’t get enough of it.
Penn Etling was hot as hell, cocky and confident, but he also showed a different, sweeter side of himself that made him even better.
Avery Perry was an excellent addition to Dogwood Lane. She was strong, sassy and smart: the perfect complement for Penn.
Ok. I’m ready for Matt’s story now.

This book… it was so good! The writing flowed well, and the banter between Penn and Avery was very well done. I loved Penn! I just wanted to hug him and tell him he was good enough 🙂 Avery was strong, and I loved that she knew what she wanted and stuck to it. The chemistry between Penn and Avery is there right from the start, but this is a slow burn. They don’t get together until about 70% of the way through. Although I wanted to hug Penn, I also wanted to smack him and tell him to get his head out of his a$$! Matt did a great job of that though, and I was SUPER happy to see Penn take his advice. The ending was very sweet, and I thought it was perfect for these 2. I definitely recommend this one!
