Trouble in Mind Interstellar Rescue Series Book 2 by Donna S. Frelick is a Sci Fi thriller that is a compelling read. It is an amazing tale of suspense and adventure, intrigue and mystery and creatures from other worlds. This story continues on from the first one and I was thoroughly engrossed from start to finish. Old characters return and new ones take centre stage as Donna has woven a complex story with so many moving parts but the plot is clever and one that is easy to follow and flows easily.
Asia once again finds her life turned upside down when she and her son are kidnapped and her husband, Ethan is left fighting for his life.
Lana an FBI special agent has been called in to cover the case but Ethan has called in friends from off world to help. Lana and Gabriels relationship is just sizzling both in between and out of the sheets but can Lana understand this mystery man and all that he is and put aside their differences. Trouble in Mind is another excellent story in the Interstellar Rescue Series – I absolutely love getting lost in this authors writing! Her attention to detail is amazing and it makes for some great world building. I think that this may be my favourite from the series so far! I loved Alana and Gabriel! They were fantastic characters to read about and I was fully invested in their story and everything that was going on! I loved the twists and turns and guessing alongside the characters about just what was going on – things definitely weren’t as they first appeared! Multiple Points of View meant that I was fully immersed in the story from beginning to end. The authors’ writing was great with a fantastic pace and flow! I am definitely looking forward to reading more from the series and this author in the future!
Oh my Star Trek loving heart just truly loves this book and series. The second installment from Frelick is just as good as the first and delivers on all counts. A great sci-fi romance, I continued to relate to the Characters and find them engaging and relatable. Frelick does a great job developing her narrative. Simply loved the book and cannot wait to see how the series continues.

The story Trouble In Mind (Interstellar Rescue Series Book 2) by Donna S. Frelick is a science fiction romance book. It is a story that has action, danger, and mystery. It is a book that hooked me in from the beginning and I didn’t want to put it down until I had read the final page. I loved reading about the characters of Alana Matheson and Gabriel Cruz. This story had me turning pages wondering what was going to happen next. The book does include romance that is sure to make the temperature in the room rise. I enjoyed reading about many of the additional characters that are introduced. Some interact with Alana and Gabriel and assist them while others have their own plans and agenda that they will do anything to make happen. It is a fast-paced tale that I found to be very entertaining to read. I highly recommend reading it.

Trouble In Mind: Interstellar Rescue Series Book 2 by Donna S. Frelick
My rating 4 out of 5 stars
This book is the 2nd in the Interstellar series, and same as before, alien abductions are real. The characters are very well written, and the story line is great. This book is a wonderful romantic sci-fi with a nice amount of action and suspense.
In this book we meet FBI agent Alana and she is in the process of discovering all details of a mother and son that were abducted. Joining in on the case is private investigator Gabriel. Now Gabriel knows more about this case than Alana and tries to keep as much as he can from her in the beginning. He knows this case is otherworldly. Alana soon realizes there is more to the real world than meets the eye, a world that most believe is just make believe.
There is some good romance and some very intense scenes. Everything comes together in this book to make it an excellent second read in the series, although I do believe it could be read as a standalone. I can’t wait to see what else is in store with this series.
Trouble in Mind is the second book in Donna S. Frelick’s Interstellar Rescue Series. As the name suggests, it is an action-packed science fiction series. There’s plenty of mystery and excitement, as well as romance along the way.
The Interstellar Rescue Series juxtaposes a rich extra-terrestrial sci fi setting (one can see the influence of Star Trek, amongst others) with modern day earth. As with the previous book, Unchained Memory, we see people trying to come up with mundane explanations for crimes that turn out to be part of something much bigger.
Frelick tells the story from a number of different perspectives at once, showing us how connected events are unfolding. It is always clear where and who we are reading about, so it is easy to follow and the changes in perspective help build suspense.
I enjoyed this book a lot – it gets five stars from me! I’d definitely recommend starting with the first book to get some background. This is a great series if you like sci fi with plenty of aliens, and also like Earth-based detective and mystery stories. It’s very much a page-turner, with some great characters!
I give Trouble in Mind: Interstellar Rescue Series Book 2 by Donna S. Frelick, 4 stars.
Gabriel is a tracker all over the galaxy who also works at finding missing people. Now he has been asked to search for a missing woman and her son on Earth. The request came from a very good friend of his and he cannot refuse. He has special skills that can help him locate most beings. Unfortunately for him, the locals have been called in already and he must cooperate. FBI Special Agent Alana is his contact. She is not what he expected at all. In fact, he is quite taken with her. Alana will take any help she can get to find the missing woman and her child. When Gabriel offers a lead, it is very strange, but she decides to go with it. Can they find them in time? What will they have to risk?
This was a very good book and a great addition to the series. I really like Alana and Gabriel. The other characters we have come to know are back too. All of them seem so real, and so different from one another. Then there is the story. It has romance, action, and keeps you on the edge of your seat until the finish. It takes you on a ride of ups and downs, never knowing just where you will go next.
I quite enjoyed this book and recommend it to those who enjoy paranormal romance and/or action. It can be read as a standalone, but I highly suggest the whole series since it is so good.
Trouble in Mind (Interstellar Rescue Series Book 2) by Donna S. Frelick is a well written novel about interstellar romance and battles. The character descriptions in this book are excellent. Alana is a beautiful and highly intelligent FBI agent working on a kidnapping case. A family friend, Gabriel, is asked to help find the missing mother and son. There is instant attraction between the two, however, Alana is not willing to risk losing her job by letting an insider in to help her. As the plot develops she sees how Gabriel is truly helping the case, but also sees the path ahead of them getting darker.
This story is a wonderful sequel to the first book in the series (Unchained Memory). This book has it all… romance, battles, and some really hot sex scenes. It will keep you up late past your bed time on the edge of your seat wondering what will happen next. I adored the passion between the characters and the way the story flowed together. I felt the heartbreak of the kidnapped victims family and friends, as well as the pain both Alana and Gabriel had endured throughout their life. I can’t wait to get my hands on the next book in the series and see what happens next!
Trouble in Mind (Interstellar Rescue Series Book 2) by Donna S. Frelick. This is the second book in this series but can be read as a standalone. Its a great read. Its the story of FBI Special Agent Alana Matheson who is excellent at her job and Galactic Tracker Gabriel Cruz who is sent in to help Alana aka Lana on her current job. Lana doesn’t think she needs any help so they butt heads. They are looking for a little boy and his mother and when the FBI doesn’t get results quick enough the dad calls in Gabriel. Gabriel isn’t just an ordinary tracker, he has skills that can save all their lives. The victims have backgrounds he can’t explain to Lana not without telling her about psychic powers, galactic battles and his own crazy not all human family. As they work closely together sparks fly and they begin to have feelings for one another but can Gabriel and Lana find this mom and son before its too late for all of them? Read Trouble in Mind to find out!
This is the second book in the Interstellar Rescue Series.
This story follows FBI Agent Alana Matheson. When Alana gets called to a kidnapping case she doesnt expect to meet a guy that will change her life. Alana is investigating the disappearance of a mother and son but she doesnt know how special and unique they are.
The guy who walks into her life is a galactic tracker called Gabriel Cruz. When the kidnapping happens the husband isnt sure its a straight forward kidnapping so he reaches out to Gabriel to search through space and get his family back.
Gabriel and Alana have to join forces and work together to save the mother and her son.
This books is full of action and adventure from page 1. I was gripped.
Where to begin with this action packed Trouble in Mind by Donna S. Frelick. This is the second book in the series, but it can be read as a stand alone. Donna Frelick does an amazing job writing her stories. This story is written from different points of view. This could be tricky at times but not for Ms. Frelick. The flow is spot on with who you are learning the thoughts and actions. No confusion at all. The adventure that is before me kept me on the edge of my seat turning the pages as fast as I can. In this story Lana and Gabriel team up to find a kidnapped boy and his mother. There are things that do not quite seem to fit and that is where the rubber meets the road. I highly recommend this story. I cannot see what other books I can find by Donna S. Frelick.
Trouble in Mind: Interstellar Rescue Series Book 2
by Donna S. Frelick
This is the second book in this series and it’s just as compelling and entertaining as the first one. I was glad to see some of the same characters in this book and meet some new ones. This book can be read as a standalone, it is my suggestion that you read the first book in this series because it’s a great read and you meet some of the characters from this book. This story was full of action, vivid detail, great world building, and romance, everything I could ask for in a great sci fi. Lana is an FBI agent who is strong and independent. Gabriel is also a strong character with some mystery to him. The attraction is between the two is obvious but can they get to Asia and her son before something happens to them? The author definitely took me on a wonderful adventure and I can’t wait to read the next one to find out where I will be taken next. I highly recommend this book.
Trouble in Mind is book 2 in the interstellar series by Donna S. Frelick. Once again she has created a read that has action & adventure, and at some points leaves you on the edge of your seat wondering what could happen next with the twists and turns along the way.
I was once again captivated by this read with its brilliant storyline and great characters. This is a brilliant sci-fi romance book that continues to be engaging and captivating throughout.
I can’t wait to see what else is brought to this series, and how the storyline continues. I highly recommend this read and this series!
5 Stars
Trouble in Mind is the second book in the Interstellar Rescue Series by Donna S. Frelick. This is sci-fi romance at its best. With danger, action, adventure, drama, intrigue, sinister forces, hidden agendas, spaceships, alien beasts, secrets, puzzles, emotion, and so much more. I am so addicted to this series, and Ms. Frelick’s writing- she’s definitely on my must read list.
I loved that we got to meet new characters, as well as catch up with some stars from the other books. This is Alana and Gabriel’s story- but Asia and Ethan from book one also play significant parts in this book too. Sam and Rayna (secondary character’s from book #1, and MC’s in Book #3) also contribute to the story. I loved this aspect to the book- how there are such clever interconnected details all woven together into a spellbinding story!
Brilliant!
Thank you, Ms. Frelick!
I will be the first to admit that I don’t normally pick up the sci-fi novels by first choice. Usually, when I read them it is because the author has done a fantastic job of grabbing me into needing to read the story with the cover and blurb on the storyline. Trouble in Mind is no different of a situation. I had to know what would happen behind the cover that graces Trouble in Mind. I am glad that I did. I did struggle just a tad with the beginning but once I found my footing among the main characters of Trouble in Mind I was soon swept away in the adventure and intrigue that plague them.
In Trouble in Mind we find Jack, Asia, and Jack on a picnic where things go terribly wrong. Asia and Jack find themselves the victims of a kidnapping and Ethan is badly beaten by the assailants. Things only get worse when Ethan becomes the prime suspect. Special FBI agent Alana Matheson, Lana, works together with the telepathic, Gabriel Cruz. Will they be able to find Ethan’s wife and child safely while clearing Ethan’s name? This book really has it all, romance, drama, crime, and adventure and vivid world descriptions that will sweep you away with the story to a far galaxy. I personally can’t wait to get my hands on the next installment in the series, Fools Rush In.
Trouble in Mind by Donna S Frelick was an out of this world read. I would give this book a five out of five stars. I really struggled to put this book down. I have a special place in my heart for a good sci fi story and the way that Donna builds the worlds is fantastic. I enjoyed Alana’s and Gabriel’s character it gave me flashbacks to the tension between Ethan and Asia.
Trouble in Mind: Interstellar Rescue Series Book 2 by Donna S. Frelick was an exciting, detailed original read, that had me hooked.
The second book in this series, we are taken on a new adventure, a new mystery, with new MC’s. In saying that, this book can be read as a standalone. Like the first, this book is told in multi POV, so lots more details and added impact. And I will tell you that, this book has more than impact, it’s gripping, compelling and engaging. There is so much going on outside of the main plot, that you forget you’re reading. The detail is top shelf, it pulls you in and makes the world/s, all the more realistic and picturesque. The MC’s interaction where fun, emotional and I quickly start to care for them.
Overall this book is worth your time and energy. It’s edgy, well written and addicting as hell, and if you haven’t guessed from that, this book gets my super high recommendation and my stamp of approval.
Happy Reading.

Trouble In Mind (Interstellar Rescue Series Book 2) By Donna S. Frelick. This story had me on the edge of my seat more than once. It’s got suspense, action and a bit of romance. The author knows the way to mix those aspects seamlessly. Lana and Gabriel are well written characters, complex and relatable. They have a chemistry is undeniable even if they try to ignore it. The author does a wonderful job of writing with such attraction to detail that the story comes alive from words. I’m really loving this series and can’t wait to see where the author takes readers next. I’m giving this story a five star review and highly recommend it.
