Tropical Inferno by Kat Mizera is Book 4 in the Inferno series. This is Garrett and Madison’s story. Although Tropical Inferno is just a novella, it really packs quite a punch!! It’s full of heat, drama, angst, passion and feels. It felt like it was jammed full of information in a short amount of time; I loved the ties this book has to the Las Vegas Sidewinders series. Without giving too much away, i enjoyed the main characters- their insta- love romance, the danger , action and semi suspense that flairs up in this novella. There is tons of romance, passion and heat in this short story. If I had anything to nitpick, it would be the HFN ending. Hopefully we’ll get to see this amazing couple again soon. Don’t miss Tropical Inferno today!!
My Rating: 4.5 *****
Such a great book, although it was a novella, Kat put so much into this quick read, that I’m so happy I got to read it twice. This was previously release as part of a Kindle World as Tropical Ice. This book is perfect. Hawk was suspended for something he didn’t do, but he refuses to admit it because of the ‘unsaid’ rule of hockey, have your brothers back. That is until he meets Madison. Then his whole world is rocked!!
Great Story! All the feels!
Kat Mizera has written another winner with Tropical Inferno!
Two people brought together by circumstances. That is what Hawk and Maddie are but they have more in common than they know. Hawk makes a kind gesture to Maddie by helping her out twice for it to backfire when he realizes who she really is. Will Maddie still want Hawk when she finds out who he is? That is his biggest fear.
This book is an easy read about characters we have met in Kat’s other hockey stories. If you love a love at first sight story then you will enjoy this book.
Garrett Hawkins has been suspended from the league for something he didn’t do. He finds himself in a no win situation. He is damned if he accepts the notoriety that comes with his suspension. If he rats out his teammate, he’ll be considered a liability in the locker room that no one wants to play with. He heads south during his suspension and finds himself not only in a crap situation, but also in a crap hotel.
Madison Teller has been fighting stress and anxiety ever since her brother Jamie almost died after being attacked. At her therapist’s suggestion, she booked a vacation to the Blue Dolphin Resort with her roommate. Unfortunately, when her roommate backs out, Madison has to downgrade her accommodations and finds herself in a seedy hotel that doesn’t quite look like it did online.
When Madison’s vacation goes from bad to worse, Garrett steps in to save the sexy stranger, only to realize she is the sister of his ex-teammate Jamie. Will he be able to keep his secret for the duration of their vacation or will reality come crashing in before their time in Mimosa Key is up?
I loved that Kat Mizera gave us Madison’s story! We first meet Madison in Kat’s Inferno series. She’s feisty yet fragile. Strong and independent, yet in need of a helping hand. When Garrett steps in to literally save the day, Maddie is completely unaware of who he is, which allows her to get to know the real Garrett and not “Hawk” Hawkins, suspended hockey player.
Garrett is immediately drawn to Maddie, yet tries to keep his distance as much as possible because he doesn’t want his situation to hurt her even more than she has been in the past. I loved how supportive he was of Maddie’s dreams, even though they just met and how he was willing to give up his career if that is what ended up keeping her safe and making her happy.
Tropical Inferno really is a whirlwind of a romance, but has a great cast of characters, including appearances from Jamie and Viggo from the Inferno series, and a fast moving plot that was extremely engaging to read. The ending is spectacular as both Garrett and Maddie are forced to make life altering decisions once reality intrudes on their unexpected vacation romance.
I couldn’t put this book down, and finished it in one sitting. It’s a perfect vacation read! 5 stars!
Tropical Inferno may be a quick read but it still manages to pack a mighty punch it still managed to give me a story I was captivated by.
Garrett “Hawk”Hawkins is known as a bad boy on the ice but this time he is wrongly accused and he is in Hawaii to sort his head out and work out what to do next.
Madison Teller is meant to be having the holiday of a lifetime with her best friend but when the friend drops out she finds herself staying in a hotel on the wrong side of Hawaii and she finds herself being rescued by a massive hot tattooed man after she chases down some hooligans who broke into her rental car.
Hawk and Madison are not looking for love but sometimes love hits us when we least expect it but can their love survive when Madison finds out who her hot tattooed rescuer is and why he is on the Island in the first place. The chemistry this couple share is sizzling and I loved how they came to terms and fault their demons together. A quick read that manages to tie a couple of series together and I can’t wait to see where this very talented author takes us next.
5 star Review Tropical Inferno (Inferno #4) by Kat Mizera
Although a novella Tropical Inferno still managed to pack a lot into it. Professional hockey player Garrett “Hawk” Hawkins swoops in and rescues Madison Teller when she really needs it.
Poor Madison, so far her holiday has been a true nightmare. Hawk being the man that he is offers to help her out, not knowing that his past is just about to collide with his present.
Accused of something he didn’t do, Hawk has escaped to Hawaii to make decisions about his future. Madison is in Hawaii trying to get over the vicious attack that nearly killed her older brother as she suffers from nightmares and stress.
The attraction between Hawk and Madison is strong but once Hawk realises who she is, he knows it shouldn’t go further.
However their chemistry is too much to ignore and they cannot help but fall deeper and deeper. What will happen when the truth comes out?
I really loved Hawk and Maddison, they brought calm and peace to each other. They were each other’s missing piece and I really wanted everything to work out.
The story line was strong, my only complaint (and it is not really a complaint) is that I would have loved this to be a longer story.
Kat Mizera kept me engrossed from chapter one and I look forward to reading more from her in the future.
