Fantastic Audible Listen Fun & Heartfelt Story!
Tripping on a Halo
By: Alessandra Torre
Narrated by: Tor Thom, Charley Ongel
This book blew me away, it grabbed my attention right from the start and held it to the very end. The storylines and characters are interesting and well developed. I liked Autumn, her quirkiness and drive to accomplish what she sets out to do. Being Declan Moss’ guardian angel, some of the things she did was just hilarious. Declan Moss knew he had a stalker but thought nothing of her until she hit too close to home. He then had to do something about her. I loved how their story played out, the chemistry between and how accepting he was of her when he finally realized who she really was, a person who cared. Oh and Mr. Oinks, he was so good with him too. I highly recommend this story, there is plenty of LOL moments, dramatic ones, heartfelt & romantic ones. That twist stopped my heart, well done Alessandra Torre, well done! Thank you for the great story and the emotional rollercoaster ride!
I listened to the Audible edition, Tor Thom and Charley Ongel are amazing narraters and voice performers. They bring these characters to life, give each their own voice and personality. They do an awesome job projecting the emotions of the characters, as well as the humor and drama of the story in to their performance. I loved Charley’s take on Autumn, capturing her quirkiness and seriousness of her thoughts. And Tor’s take on Declan was swoon worthy, especially those heartfelt moments. Thank you for another awesome listen
Audiobook Review: Tripping on a Halo by: Alessandra Torre (Author), Tor Thom (Narrator), Charley Ongel (Narrator)
Love takes an otherworldly turn and I may never stop laughing again. Tripping on a Halo is not your average romance. Torre changes the rules when it comes to guardian angels. Autumn and Declan are a breath of fresh air. She knows how to keep life interesting. He’s clueless when it comes to love. They shouldn’t make sense, yet seem to be a perfect fit. Thom and Ongel, let their sense of humor shine through in this adorably, unconventional look at love.
Super cute story. Quirky characters, especially our heroine August voiced by Charley Ongel, an adorable piggy, hilarious situations combined with a swoony hero voiced by Tor Thom made this awesome entertainment. The audiobook had me smiling through my commute this week!
-4 Stars!!-
Sweet, funny, heartwarming. Yes, please!!
I love that you never know what you’re going to get with an Alessandra Torre book. Every book I’ve read by her has been so different from the last and I absolutely adore that. They’re all amazing and vastly different.
Tripping on a Halo is funny and sweet and a little silly. But in the end it’s just a heartwarming story about the different ways that love can build. I was so happy and laughing one moment and then I spend a couple of months being incredibly sad while falling in love with Declan. If you don’t fall in love with Declan by “December” you’ll fall in love with him after you read the letters he writes Autumn and everything he does for her in those months.
I was a little worried about how it was going to wrap up but I shouldn’t have worried, cause of course it was perfect. Autumn and Declan are absolutely everything!!!
I almost gave up on this one. This was an awkward read, even for an awkward girl. I wasn’t exactly sure what Autumn’s deal was…other than an obsession for keeping Deacon safe. I didn’t know if I could finish reading…but I did. I liked the idea that someone a little eccentric could still get the guy, even though maybe she didn’t even want him? The book totally turned into a direction I wasn’t expecting. It was quirky and sweet, with a little swoon and swine.
I have never read Alessandra Torre but when I saw the blurb I knew I wanted to read it.
I was a little skeptical though because I thought this could be a paranormal book (her being a guardian angel and all that) but I found out then that it isn’t.
It surprised me how short of a read this was. The heroine is very quirky, at times weird. I didn’t know what to think of her. She had this idea that she needed to protect Declan even though he didn’t even know her.
When he realized he had a stalker he was all freaked out but when he talked to her and saw why she was doing it, he was like okay. From then on it was insta lust.
I didn’t feel very connected to them until the last 20 or so %. It was then that I saw the depth of his feelings.
Since I wasn’t quite okay with the heroine most of the book (even though it’s all very clear at the end), I’m giving this book 4 stars.

You can not help but chuckle at the obsession that Autumn had for Declan. Her life itself was comical train wreck. It always seemed like something was gonna go wrong for her . Autumn spent her days making sure Declan was safe as she feels she is his ( guardian angel) , as well as taking care of her pet pig Mr. Oinks. I have to say Mr. Oinks made the story very humorous. I wish I would have had a little more into the future for Autumn and Declan in the epilogue , other than that is was a good book to escape into for a few hours.
A fun story with a reluctant hero! Part of my monthly feature at Popsugar for a reason!
Tripping on a Halo, will have you in stitches from the very beginning, the opening scene is hilarious. Trying to picture someone walking down a city street waving a giant penis, who does that Autumn, that’s who, Declan Mosses self proclaimed guardian angel or as Declan thinks his stalker.
Autumn although sometimes annoying is also love able, and quirky. Declan is a saint, as you will find throughout this book.
Thank you Tor Thom for gifting me this audible book for a fair and honest review. Tor has that tone in his voice with certain words that make you want to beg for more.
Thank you Alessandra Torre for writing this endearing story.
This book was silly, romantic, and even a tiny bit of tearjerker. I wasn’t surprised by anything in the storyline but it was still a cozy read that I definitely recommend.
“All I had to do was stay level-headed, avoid swooning, and come across as un-crazy as possible.”
Quirky, swoony, and one hell of twist that will send you on an emotional roller coaster!
The beginning of the book was so light-hearted, zany, and fantastic, but I found myself needing more of those feelings to help climb back up after the dramatic twist towards the latter part of the story.
Overall, a unique story that’s a lot of fun and shouldn’t be missed by fans of romantic-comedies.
Prepare to laugh out loud, as Alessandra Torre gives readers an over-the-top romantic comedy with Tripping on a Halo. It all started with blinding pain and a handsome man jogging straight into danger, Autumn did what any guardian angel would do, she saved him. Of course, no one but her believes she’s a guardian angel, but that’s not going to stop her from stalking Declan to ensure he’s safe and well at the end of each day. When a chance encounter convinces Declan that many the peculiar woman isn’t so bad he lets her in, stalking tendencies and all.
I did not expect anything I got in this book at all, but it sure was enjoyable. Tripping on a Halo, for me, was unlike any other Alessandra Torre book and it’s totally unique compared to everything else I’m reading right now. Autumn is a quirky character, one who is impossible to understand at first, but in time you find yourself loving her unique personality. Declan, on the other hand, is an up-and-coming architect that is handsome, sweet, and far too patient with the odd blonde following him around. Their meeting is perfect, probably my favorite scene of the book, and soon they become an odd couple, sort of. Declan sets out to woo the assertive angel and readers get to enjoy their seriously smutty hook ups.
It wouldn’t be an Alessandra Torre book without a bit of heart though, so the book isn’t all inflatable phallic objects, crazy talk, cuddly pigs, and smooching at every chance the characters get. Both characters have some things to work through, especially when it comes to romance and that little thing about Autumn thinking she’s a guardian angel. Things take an odd and painful turn though and we get to know Declan a whole lot more. Without giving anything else away, Tripping on a Halo is an unexpected, hilarious, and romantic read, one that was a really nice escape for me during my hectic week. It’s a sugary sweet read that you won’t be able to put down, even if rom-com isn’t your usual genre choice. Alessandra Torre can do it all!
Audiobook Review:
I only recently got into audiobooks and I had yet to listen to a comedy novel, at least until I got my hands on Tripping on a Halo by Alessandra Torre. Narrated by Tor Thom and Charley Ongel, we follow Declan and Autumn through their unconventional, hilarious love story. It was an easy listen, one that I could walk away from to run errands and jump right back into as soon as I pushed start on my car. It’s lighthearted and the narrators, though I wasn’t sure about Tor Thom at first, really embodied the characters well for me. The two narrate well together and I felt like they were really sparring during some of the dialogue scenes. For me, the audio was a hit and maybe made the book even better in terms of the comedy moments.

Enjoyed this fairly original story and characters! There were a few humorous scenes but I wouldn’t call it a comedy or hilarious. The ending was a twist and very well written!
I enjoyed this book even though in the beginning I was not entirely vested in it. But, read through. It will tug at your heartstrings.
This is my first book by this author and it was more than I could have hoped for! What a fun, flirty, whimsical listen. It had all the feels. It was quirky, unique and had some straight up laugh out loud moments. Add in the fabulous narration of Tor Thom and Charley Ongel and you are in for a treat. 5 delightful stars!
5 Stars for the audio review of Tripping on a Halo
Alessandra Torre is a relatively new to me but with every book I read or in this case listen to I’m wondering why she hasn’t crossed my radar sooner.
I loved this book, I loved the characters, I loved the story, I loved the banter and the narrators did a fantastic job of bringing this story to life. As always Tor Thom and Charley Ongel managed to give me all the feels I look for in a great book, the banter flowed and the chemistry was electrifying. Looking forward to more from this author and more from these narrators.
So, yes, this is very much a rom-com, but boy does it turn into something else at one point. I love the premise, I love how Autumn swears she’s Declan’s guardian angel. LOVE IT.
And you totally believe it. And when they officially meet, well, Declan is totally smitten with our Autumn because who wouldn’t be? She’s fantastic.
Charley Ongel and Tor Thom do a great job of bringing Autumn and Declan to life.
Tripping on a Halo is one of the best Enemies to Lovers romcom’s I’ve read in a long time. Autumn is so crazy! But the good type of crazy, not the lock-her-up sort of crazy. And Declan, uh, what can I say about him but that he’s mine and you can’t have him! He’s too sexy not to be mine.
This book is funny, romantic and so sexy. There’s something about Alessandra’s books where I’m always left surprised but satisfied by the end. If you love romcoms, then Tripping on a Halo is a must!
I really enjoyed this! Autumn was so quirky and self-possessed. She knew that her crazy was showing whenever Declan was involved, but she was adamant about being his guardian angel. Declan was so open and willing to listen that she couldn’t help but really fall for him. I loved where this story went and the ending was perfect. Definitely the lighter side of Torre!
I think this is my favorite read of 2018. It was so stinkin’ sweet it gave me diabetes! Super cute & funny too! I loved every single minute of it.
