If I took time to explain, Declan Moss would get hit by a bus. Let me back up. I didn’t ask for this. I was perfectly happy–and … was perfectly happy–and perfectly sane–before I was tasked with keeping Declan Moss alive. It was a thankless job until the moment that my panties dropped and his delicious smirk found his way in between my thighs.

Whimsical, hilarious, sweet and cute? Those aren’t the words I’d normally use to describe a Torre book but this book is an adorable surprise. Very unique and entertaining, the perfect escape for a dull and dreary day!
Hilarious enemies to lovers romance!
My fav book this year. Adored everything about Autumn & Declan’s story. Snort laughing (pun intended), swoon worthy, tearjerking, and sexy.
Adorable, sweet, funny enemies to lovers romance!!
Funny and unique enemies to lovers!
Absolutely loved this gem! Alessandra is such a versatile writer!
Great concept for a book and Alessandra nailed it!
I got to read Tripping on a Halo early, and oh my gosh, this is one of my very favorite books of the year.
A new enemies-to-lovers romance from the one & only Alessandra Torre about two opposites who can’t help but attract each other…
She thinks she’s his guardian angel.
He thinks she’s crazy.
It’s really hard to save a guy’s life when he keeps running away from you…
HA! So excited for this one.
An all-new, hilarious enemies-to-lovers romance from the incredible Alessandra Torre!
I wasn’t sure what to expect when I started this book, although I knew I’d love it because I love all the author’s work. She has writing quirky characters down to a science. This is such a great story. Autumn and Declan are an unlikely duo and Declan has every reason to run the other way when he sees Autumn. But then circumstances bring them together and they discover they had the wrong impression of each other. Great story. Lots of laugh out loud moments!
Alessandra Torre gives us a flirty, fun read with Tripping on a Halo.
First, I love the title of this book and second, I love the premise.
Declan & Autumn’s relationship isn’t conventional. She’s stalking him with the idea that it’s her job to keep him safe. But once Declan actually meets his little crazy stalker, he can’t help but be drawn to her.
This book was a little quirky and it did go a bit slow for me at the start. I felt like I was waiting for them to start interacting for a bit longer than expected. Part of me was so eager to get to the physical meeting, that I wasn’t able to connect with the characters at all. Once they do meet, I feel like the story picked up for me. I need to be able to experience the character together to become invested. I liked them, but I liked them together more than on their own.
In the end I feel like the book hit its stride by the end, I just wished I felt more for the characters early on to be more invested. I think this is one of those books where now that I’ve experienced the full story, I’d appreciate the start more. Maybe I’ll dive back in to the beginning after some time to see if I can get that full love for the book that so many have.
3.5 stars
This is definitely a detour from the usual Alessandra Torre tale. I was honestly not sure for the majority of the book whether or not I was going to like it. Too many questions floated through my mind. I couldn’t figure out how she became so batshit crazy. Until I did.
I can say that it’s a sweet and mildly disturbing story. I mean the stalker turned…well, you’ll see. It’s cute, wacky, weird, and the stuff romance novels are famous for-feels. Solid gold feels.
Tripping on a Halo is definitely one of those books it might take awhile after reading to feel out what your true feelings are.

This was my first Alessandra Torre’s book. I loved this story! Autumn and Declan’s story was funny and intriguing. Both were great characters and I loved them both! Autumn’s craziness, and stalker kind, was hilarious! Declan was handsome and open minded, despite the situation. They shared an instant attraction, and great chemistry. I loved their happy ending. The secondary characters were also interesting! I enjoyed my listening. The narration was really well done. Thor Tom and Charley Ongel are always great together and I love their duet. This is the first time I listen to a dual narration by them and I liked it! I received this free review copy audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily left this review.
Alessandra Torre delivers a book that is so sweet, so romantic, so full of glowy warmth that you will be unable to finish this book without a big fat smile on your face. Go ahead and try, and then come back here and tell me how you failed.
Autumn believes that she is Declan’s guardian angel, so she has spent four months hovering around him. She thinks he doesn’t see her (oh, he does), but because she doesn’t pose a threat or interfere in his life in any way, he just sort of accepts her. And then circumstances force them to come face to face, and it is FABULOUS.
If you are accustomed to the Brad DeLuca version of Alessandra Torre, you might be surprised by the simplicity and purity of this love story. As with The Ghost Writer, Torre shows us that she is not a one-genre, one-note author. Her stories vary, her characters are easily differentiated from each other, and her voice changes according to those stories and characters. Reading her books is a magnificent experience: you go in expecting one thing and find yourself surprised at where she takes you.
I loved this book so much. And, my goodness, did I WEEP in some parts. Alessandra Torre had my heart so fiercely wrapped up in Declan and Autumn that their pain became my pain. And when I turned the last page, I was heartsick at having to say goodbye to them.
When you read this one, please come back and let me know your thoughts. I’d love to talk about Tripping on a Halo with you.
OMGoodness!!! What a fun, sexy and totally entertaining story. This was for the most part a lighthearted read that will leave you with the warm fuzzy feeling. But Alessandra was also able to add an emotional element to the story.
Tripping On A Halo is the latest standalone novel by Alessandra Torre. It is told mostly in Autumn’s POV but we do get into Declan’s head as well. I truly enjoyed this storyline. I thought the pace and flow of the story worked well. This story follows the journey of a woman who thinks she needs to protect Declan. But what happens when she finds out it is something completely different??
I have been reading some really emotional and angsty reads lately and this book totally took me out of that downer feeling. This was the perfect story for me at this time. I giggled, laughed out loud and blushed quite often.
I have to say I absolutely LOVE Alessandra’s heroines. Autumn was no different. She was fun, sassy, independent and also a little vulnerable. She had something tragic happen to her so she is still reeling from that. But she is also a determined person. She is someone I think all readers should meet. I also liked Declan a lot. I thought these two character balanced each other well.
I also loved the relationship between Autumn and her sister Ansley. It’s what all of us strive for. I have to say I really liked all the secondary characters in this story. They each played a part in this story.
I would 100% recommend this story to anyone who is looking for that lighthearted, fun and sexy read. This is the perfect story for the beach or a lazy Sunday afternoon. If you haven’t read anything by Alessandra Torre yet, this is a great place to start!!!
“You’re still shooting skeet,” I pointed out. “I don’t like the idea of you shooting anything.” I had never seen a skeet, but they sounded adorable. “I’m not going to be able to sleep at night with a dozen skeet deaths hanging over my head.”
I was in the mood to read a rom-com and this book had been sitting on my iPad for ages. This is my first book by Ms Torre and in all honesty I struggled a bit. The first half of the book was slow, but I did like the journey we eventually got taken on. I just didn’t connect with the characters for some reason and the laughs were few between.
Autumn lost her mother in an accident and is going to therapy. Struggling with guilt and her new found addiction…stalking Declan. Well in her mind she’s his guardian angel and will do anything to keep him safe. Declan finds out who the blond stalker is and sends a friend request. Will she accept it and is he going to stalk her?
Such a fun read!
When teaching my 4th graders about narrative writing, I always stress how important a good hook is, how having that first sentence grab the reader can make all the difference. This book would be the perfect example of that… except for the mention of male genitalia (of the inflatable variety). Not appropriate for 4th graders, but totally intriguing for this adult.
I love the versatility of this author. She can go from dark and suspenseful in one book to light and funny in the next. This book was the latter. Autumn was hilarious in her quirky insanity and inappropriateness, and Declan was so sweet and endearing. He totally embraced her crazy, finding it as charming as I did. I mega-swooned over him. MEGA-SWOONED!
And let’s not forget Mr. Oinks. Of course, Autumn would have a farting pet pig.
This book is the perfect read after a heavy book you need to shake off. Or just because it’s so much fun. A ton of laughs, some super-steamy scenes, and a lot of heartfelt moments. Utterly enjoyable. I highly recommend it.
**I received a copy of this book through Bookfunnel.**
Well…..I am not quite sure how to rate a book that had me confused more than I understood the plot points. Tripping on a Halo was described as a romantic comedy with an unusual twist. From the very first chapter, I found myself unsure of what to make of the chaos that ensued from the very first words. I found myself looking back within pages and content that I just read trying to piece together gaps in the storyline to understand the reason that Autumn’s antics were so far out there.
My confusion was surmounted with trying to decipher if I was reading a book about a guardian angel, a paranormal comedy, or just a lot of craziness that was thrown into a melting pot for maximum impact. While the romantic comedy label was stretching it a bit, there were a few moments that offered a smidgen of quirkiness to the story. However – there is just so much chaotic ‘stuff’ crammed into 265 pages that the overall effect is messy and lacks the pull that a typical romance novel would entail.
For lack of giving away pieces of the story, I will say that there were way too many different ideas swimming around in the book without a purpose. The fact that Declan finds his stalker and ends up in a romance with her just adds to the kerfunkle that enveloped the plot of this book. The chaos didn’t seem to have a purpose until around the 60% mark in the book. At that point, I could at least understand what some of the previous chaos was all about. What’s the bottom line for me on Tripping on a Halo?? Well….um…..I can’t believe I am saying this about a book written by Alessandra Torre….*breathe deeply*….. I think I should have skipped this one completely.
When a book begins with a woman carrying a huge penis while trying to look inconspicuous, it gets your attention.
I laughed, had tears in my eyes from sadness, swooned, then laughed again, that was pretty much the flow in this book.
Autumn is goofy, funny without meaning to be, she believes she is Declan’s Guardian Angel which all begins following her mother’s death, a day in the park and the belief that she saved Declan’s life.
Autumn has a new purpose to distract her from grief and that is keeping Declan safe.
Declan believes he has a stalker, he has seen Autumn numerous times, she turns up out of the blue and as he stares out of his office window one morning he swears the same woman who is stalking him is the same one from this particular morning who shouted purple people eaters as he was crossing the road looking at his phone which caused him to turn around and is now walking down the street with a blow-up penis.
Autumn is witty, has a farting pig that she adores regardless of his flatulence.
Declan is on a mission to find out who his stalker is and why.
Tripping on a halo is a light and funny read with loveable characters, it has a balance of humor, hot moments, romance, the heartfelt moment’s too and written brilliantly by Alessandra Torre.
Told in third person dual pov, not my usual preference but it worked and I read it with ease.
I would definitely recommend this Rom-com, it brightened my day.
