An explosion in a secret defense lab changes the lives of three men forever…His brain was on fire, and he fought going back to the raging inferno of his private hell. Despite the power he now possessed, he couldn’t even remember his name. According to the news, he was Brayden Sloane, former security expert at Cranesbrook Labs, now wanted for murder and kidnapping. He couldn’t remember that, nor … remember that, nor the woman who claimed to be his wife. Claire Fanshaw needed Bray to find her friend who’d disappeared following the explosion. Until Bray regained his memory, she’d stick to him like glue. But what would he do when he realized the woman in his bed was a stranger? And what would she do if the cops were right about Bray?
Excerpt:
Standing in front of Lab 7’s door, Claire felt her stomach tighten and churn. The door was soot-stained, looking worse for the wear, but it was closed. Probably locked. She reached out, took a big breath, then tested the handle, expecting she would have to use the key. She didn’t. That it turned made her more nervous. Was someone already inside? Ulrich?
Her fingers tightened around the folder. She pasted a smile to her lips—just in case she had to use her cover story—and opened the door.
The lab was dark.
Shoulders sagging with relief, Claire stepped inside and pulled the door closed behind her. No doubt the lab was open because Project Cypress had just been moved and someone figured you didn’t need to lock an empty lab.
A little light came in through the windows that faced the center of the Cranesbrook campus with its lake surrounded by rocks and natural grasses. No one ever went out there—not that she had ever seen—but anyone in the wing across the way could see into the lab, as well, a reason not to turn on the room lights until she’d closed the blinds. Circling a lab table, she crossed the room and did so.
That accomplished, she pulled a Maglite from her pocket, but before she could click it on and sweep the narrow beam through the darkened room, something flitted at the edge of her vision. Her stomach knotted and the breath caught in her throat. What the hell was that? Her pulse thrummed. She stood perfectly still and listened hard for any sound.
Nothing.
Not even the intake of breath.
And yet she knew she wasn’t alone.
What should she do? Switch on the Maglite? Face down the other person? An intruder like herself? Who else would be in the abandoned lab in the dark?
Sensing she’d put herself in danger, Claire decided that the smart thing would be to book out of here as fast as her feet would carry her.
But no sooner did she take a single step than a big body bumped up against her back and a hand covered her mouth. She jammed her elbow backward and got a single “Oof!” in response, but the grip didn’t loosen. Though she tried to twist and turn, she couldn’t free herself. The folder went flying as she stomped backward but missed her attacker’s foot.
He was so damned strong. What was she going to do?
The only thing she could think of.
She let herself go limp, hoping the surprise of her dead weight would make him let go.
Instead he went down with her, crashing to the lab floor. Though she writhed in his arms, the only thing she accomplished was to free one arm and twist around so she was facing him as he landed on top of her.
Shrieking in frustration, Claire snapped on the Maglite and shone it in his battered, beard-shadowed face.
Her eyes widened and she gasped, “Brayden Sloane, get the hell off me!”

The entire series has a fascinating premise, that an explosion of chemicals at a secure lab causes unusual abilities in those affected. In this, book 3, of the series, one of the security company guarding the lab has gone missing, but we find him lost and without a memory of who he is. When the computer specialist connects with him, she sees the opportunity to find her friend, also missing. They go on a harrowing chase to find a killer, while the killer is seeking them. Sexy and romantic.
captivating plot
Fast paced page turner. Mystery and romance, this is the third book in the series. I did read this one first then went back for the others. This does stand alone and all the loose ends are tied up here so some may find it “spoiler-ish”. Still it was non stop action and I finished it way before I wanted it to end so be prepared to read it in one sitting. (I voluntarily reviewed an ARC).
What a wonderful wrap up to this fabulous series! Any readers who haven’t read the first two books can be assured that this story has enough information incorporated into the pages that you aren’t left wondering “what just happened?” That said, I would definitely recommend starting at book one (Chain Reaction), as following the plot from start to finish through the three stories was enthralling.
Triggered Response brings everything together and closes off any unresolved matters and answers those niggling questions that are left from the previous books. Ms Rosemore has tied everything up beautifully and provided readers with an explosive climax that leaves nothing unsettled. The world building is excellent, there are many twists and turns throughout, and for lovers of edge of your seat, heart in your throat, gasp out loud mystery/suspense, this series has it all!
Thank you to all three authors for putting together a cracker of a series, but especially to Ms Rosemore for tying everything up so seamlessly. These authors have done something amazing; let’s hope they choose to do it again.
What a great story. I loved it. It just seemed to fly by. I have read at least one of the other books in the series. But I think it could be easily followed by new readers as a stand alone.
What great main characters. Brayden (Bray) was a strictly by the book, kind of uptight guy. Claire was a liar. Someone who was almost a professional grade one. She’s had to be to survive her childhood. But she also never did it to hurt anyone either, so that should give her some slack. And in the story it will come in handy and save the day more than once. She also has the unusual ability to be able to get a pretty good read on people. Add to that she has some pretty mad computer skills too.
Of course, Bray DESPISES lies so you can see that is really going to be a problem for them.
It took him quite a while to even figure out who he is at first. It was quite the emotional time for him and those around him. The more I got to see him in the action, the better I liked him.
You do know though, that because Claire is posing as Bray’s wife that there is going to be some serious sexual heat between the two of the right? Because the basic attraction was already there.
I thought that the world building in this book was really good and you just weren’t sure who you could trust in the scientific world.
Twists, turns and multiple villains vying for power add to the intensity of the story. Not to worry though, because there were also some good people trying to have Bray’s back as they look for the truth. Bray’s sister is one of those people although she has some challenges as well.
There is a good H.E.A. also with a satisfying Epilogue.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own
Brayden was former military and opened a security company with his fellow buddy, Gage. They are providing security for a science lab when an explosion happens. Brayden is believed dead and guilty of being in on the explosion. But really he has amnesia and he has gained his own power, he can touch something or someone and can see the past. Claire works in the lab and is searching for her best friend that disappeared. She catches Bray breaking into the complex and tells him she’s his wife. She needs his help in finding her friend. Slowly Bray’s memory comes back but he wants to see if Claire will tell the truth or keep lying. Someone is trying to kill them. Can’t they figure out who it is before they all end up dead?
Excellent story with action, lies, and sex. I’ve read two of these books and this is the best. There are three and each are written by a different author. Will keep you on the edge of your seat.

Absolutely Phenomenal
I volunteered to read and review a readers copy thru Netgallery of Triggered Response . This is the third story in the Security Breach series . I really enjoyed reading this story . This story unlike the first and second stories is written by Patricia Rosemoor . It’s a fantastic story and a fantastic finish to this series . This is Bray and Claire’s story . Bray is the security agent that disappeared after the lab accident be leaved to possibly being involved . Clair works as supervisor of computer services at the lab . Bray and Claire’s relationship develops during the time they work together to figure out what’s going on at the lab and prove Bray’s innocence and keeping themselves alive while doing it . This is very well written . It’s intense , action packed , very intriguing and definitely suspenseful . I highly recommend reading this story .
