Have you ever had a feeling like something bad was going to happen? What about a gut reaction to someone you had never met? You know what I’m talking about. The times where something just doesn’t feel right, so you turn and walk the other way only to find out someone got robbed down the same alley you decided not to turn down.I get that feeling a lot. I thought it was normal. I didn’t know it was … I didn’t know it was a warning. I didn’t know it was there to keep me alive.
There’s a lot of things I didn’t know, but what I now know…it’s got me scared senseless.
Turns out, the Gods are real.
Destiny is real.
Fate is something that we can’t always control.
And me? I’m just a human caught up in a game of the Gods. Except—I’m not. Not really. I’m someone else entirely, according to the three genies who have sworn to protect me.
From what? Well to explain that, we’re going to have to go way back to Ancient Egypt. A land of monsters and Gods and wars.
Where do I fit in? Smack bang in the middle, by the looks of it.
**This is an urban fantasy romance where our leading lady ends up with three love interests and an HEA. Watch out for the strong language, she’s a Brit and it is written in British English.

Trickster’s Hunt (Three Tricksters Book 1)
By: Carrie Whitethorne
5 out of 5 stars
The story Trickster’s Hunt (Three Tricksters Book 1) by Carrie Whitethorne is a paranormal/fantasy romance book the I loved reading. It pulled me in from the very beginning and didn’t let me go until I had read the final page. It has magic, mystery, and genies. I loved reading about the main female character. She is independent and because of the past not looking for a man. That is when three find her. There is Silas, Rhett, and Amos. They show up and an attraction begins for each of them. They feel drawn to her and have sworn to protect her. She wants to know what they are protecting her from. They stay close by her side. Will the questions that arise be answered? What does the future hold for the four of them? Read this book to find out. I loved reading about the three genies that are drawn to the main female character. There is bantering that goes back and forth. The desire that is felt by all is strong and some scenes have the temperature in the room rising. This is a book that I would highly recommend reading. It is the first story in a series and I look forward to reading the next one.
I love the look of this one!
I liked this spin on God’s and Djinn. It was interesting to see how the MCs found each other and how they respond to one another. I love Adam, he is so saucy! I can’t wait to see what happens to Mai and her Djinn , Pip and of course her ‘life partner’ Adam in book 2!
*I received a free copy of this book which I voluntarily chose to write an honest review for.
Great start to this new series! We get to meet Maia a 19-year-old competitive eater that wins a trip to London to enter a competition there. Entering her world gives us some entertaining tidbits as we learn about the world of competitive eating. After she wins the semi-finals she gets to stay for a week where she proceeds to meet three really hot guys who ultimately change her life forever. Add in a crazy cat, some magic, and lots of secrets to get a paranormal reverse harem romance novel that you cannot put down. I highly recommend it to fans of the genre. I really liked it so I give it 4/5 stars.
A trickery read!
The Gods are real…
Destiny is real…
Fate is something that we can’t always control…
And something bad is going to happen…
Well, for starters, it was interesting read, for sure. I love Egyptian mythology so to read the authors’ take on this story was interesting and enjoyable. I must admit though I did not fall in love with this read – I am hoping the second book will be better than this book.
The writing was great. Great world building. And it was easy to read.
I smiled and laughed and enjoyed myself but this book was not what I thought it would be – I felt it was lacking. But after that ending, I would love to see how the story will progress and how it will be treated.
The heroine had started to get on my nerves (beginning) – always complaining and unpleasant, does not like anything and always complains about it. Though, she had one moment that redeemed herself but generally she is not relatable and I like her to a certain point. I am desperately hoping the next book is much more better than this read.
Full of gods, mystery, djinn, cats, goddesses, evil, attraction, competition, wishes, action and adventure.
Perfect for readers of Egyptian mythology/urban fantasy reverse harem romances.
Upon reading the blurb, I thought how interesting. Having read the first few pages, I was hooked, it was un-put-a-downable, The sprinkles of Egyptian mythology was super interesting, (albeit, I had to google it) having the MC be a full-time C.E. is funny but, at the same time, annoyingly funny how she doesn’t put on any weight given how much she eats. Djinni (having to google it) was awesome, having them at your disposal, to just wish something and having it come true is a plus, and having them love and loyalty is another added bonus. Again, I’m so invested in this series and cannot wait for the other books.
What a great start to a new series, I really liked how you got to know Maia and her traits/quirks before the guys come along as it helps bring things together later on in the book. Maia is a bit sassy, a loner and well hell of fan eater for which she makes her money from by doing eating competitions, Addie is her lovable friend who travels with her to comps and also enjoys getting to partake in all the free travel and hotels she gets for doing her job. Everything is going fine until London then there is 3 hot guys that keep grabbing her attention, a cat that wont leave her alone and some life threatening occurrences. From here in out is is wild ride of revelations, steamy times as well as some surprises and twists you don’t see coming.
Maia’s always thought of herself a a normal girl. Sure, she’s a competitive eater that always seems to be hungry and has always been a person that gets that weird feeling just before something bad happens. But, that’s normal, right? Or maybe not. After winning a week’s stay at a hotel in London, Maia finds she has not one but three breathtakingly handsome men who randomly keep showing up where ever she is . . . and a strange cat that seems to always be underfoot.
But maybe she’s not quite as normal as she thought, as in, maybe she is someone else entirely. And maybe those handsome guys aren’t human at all, but genies sent to protect her from her mortal enemies that happen to be Ancient Egyptian Gods. Oh, and that cat, it can send you it’s thoughts just like it’s talking in your head.
Trickster’s Hunt was a fun start to an exciting new series by Carrie Whitehorne and Kel Carpenter. I found it to be a unique premise with fate and destiny throwing not only Maia, but her protectors for a loop with none of them realizing what’s in store for them until they all meet in London, brought together by the mysterious cat, Lord Peregrine Proudfoot the Third.
Maia is really an interesting character. I love that she’s a competitive eater that weighs only 115 pounds. She’s witty and downright hilarious when interacting with her best friend and flatmate Adam.
Amos, Rhett and Silas find they are connected not only to each other, but also to Maia. They are charming and handsome and all possess qualities that Maia finds attractive. As more details unravel, they swear to protect her from the dangers trying to kill her and eventually find themselves in a land fighting monsters to save their own personal Goddess.
I did find parts of this book to be a bit slow moving while others seems to zip right by. I was also left feeling a bit confused as to what exactly was happening and who all of the players really were as details emerged. I’m hoping that is cleared up more in book two, as Trickster’s Hunt definitely left me wanting to know more of the story and the ancient mystery we only got to glimpse in this book. 4 stars.
Supernatural. NA. Rh. 3 Dijnn. Nineteen yr old competitive eater, Maia, is in London for finals. She finds herself getting along with three mysterious guys. After some crazy happenings, guys introduce themselves has Dijnn and they are there to protect her. Telling her that she is being hunted. Turns out this whole thing is more than they know. I really liked Maia’s character. She’s nineteen but not written that way. There really isn’t any drama and she’s mature on her decisions, albeit a bit rash a points. I also love the Egyptian vibes. The plot is entertaining and stimulating. Not my favorite story trope but still an enjoyable one. 3.5/5
Trickster’s Hunt (Three Tricksters Book One) by Carrie Whitethorne and Kel Carpenter
5-Stars
Trickster’s Hunt is the exciting and romantic first book in the Three Tricksters series. Maia is to participate in an eating contest when she runs into an amazing Adonis while receiving a massage that leads to life changing events. Three amazing men enter her life to protect her from a supernatural force. Past secrets are revealed and each person is not who they thought they were.
This was a fascinating and creative story that was easy to follow. The author did a magnificent job with character development and the various settings. Maia had an interesting appetite and I was amazed at how much food she was able to put away. She was an excellent lead female. I also love all the men in this novel. Amos, Silas, Rhett, and even Adam all had amazing personalities and were entertaining and protective of Maia. This was an excellent read and I highly recommend it. I cannot wait to read more in this series.
Trickster’s Hunt by Carrie Whitethorne is the first book in the Three Tricksters series. Maia is 19, smart, and mature for her age. When she is on a trip she is not out looking for men but she finds three. These are not three typical men and she is about to be introduced to the knowledge of Gods and djinns.
This is a descriptive book that put a clear picture in my mind. The story was interesting and I liked the characters. Maia is fun and up for a challenge. I also enjoyed the Egyptian mythology that was part of the story. I always like a book with a few historical references and this added it to the story. I look forward to where this series goes in future books.
I am a sucker for anything related to Egypt so this book grabbed my interest immediately. I kept picturing Rhett as Ardeth Bay and it was fantastic.
For the most part I really enjoyed this book and am absolutely looking forward to the other. Maia is supposed to be a 19 year old competitive eater but how she is written, she seems mid to late 20’s. Maybe that was because the drinking age in the UK is different than the US so that threw me off. The structure of the book was pretty heavily set around eating competitions and then that just kind of stopped. I get that with the intro of three sexy djinn into Maia’s life, things would be far from normal but it just seemed to me like she was the kind of woman who would let nothing and no one pull her from what she loves doing.
Trickster’s Hunt (Three Tricksters Book 1) by Carrie Whitethorne. This is the first book I’ve read by this author and it was quite enjoyable. Its the story of 19 year old Maia who is a competitive eater. She has won a week’s stay in London waiting on the next big contest. Maia has the wonderful ability to always be hungry and her metabolism lets her eat all she wants. She’s not looking for men but somehow 3 handsome men find her. Are they Genies? Silas & Amos have vowed to protect her but Rhett is so miserable who knows what he will do. They seem to think she’s in danger? There is also a cat that shows up at every turn named Lord Peregrine Proudfoot the Third. This is a story filled with Egyptian Mythology, Genies and a very strange cat. Will Maia survive the food eating competition or will she end up in more danger than she and her Genie friends can handle.
I am really glad I picked this book up. I haven’t read any other books by these authors but that is going to change. This book kept me interested from page one and I love that it was a RH. This book is a fantasy romance that includes some Egyptian Mythology and that was something I haven’t read about before. The main characters are what made this book a good one. I loved the sassy and sarcastic-ness of them and I couldn’t wait to see what was happening next in their lives. I am looking forward to reading the next books in this series and I would recommend it to a friend.
Trickster’s Hunt (Three Tricksters Book 1) by Carrie Whitethorne
5 Stars!!!!!
Wow what can I say but having discovered another new author and a new series I am in seventh heaven. I really found myself unable to put this book down. The author has a very refreshing writing style and characters. I love reading books like this.
I really found myself drawn to Maia. The whole plot to the story just grabbed me and kept me held. The trio of Amos, Silas and Rhett are just the icing on the cake. I really love books about djinn and add in Gods and Godesses and boy do you have a great read. I love that there was also a telepathic cat just more to add to the drama and goings on in the book. I really cannot wait to read more from this author and this series. I really want to see how the whole story progresses.
Trickster’s Hunt by Carrie Whitethorne
5-stars
Trickster’s Hunt is my first book by Carrie Whitethorne but it certainly won’t be my last! It’s a phenomenal start to her Three Tricksters series! Right from the get-go I was hooked, I was so intrigued by this storyline that I ended up reading it in one sitting.
It was a welcome change that this storyline wasn’t as action-packed as other books in this genre, I honestly loved the flow of the storyline. The details, original storyline and chemistry between characters had me sitting on the edge of my seat waiting for answers to all of my questions.
Unfortunately for me this book ended in a cliffhanger so I will have to wait to continue this series. This is a book I would recommend to anyone looking for their next one of a kind read!
I enjoyed this book when i got into it. The mixture of fantasy, history and magic are a really good mix and they work really well together. I cant wait to read the next one
Maia is a seemingly ordinary woman who has a huge appetite for food which is why she makes her living winning eating competition. After one successful competition she spends time in the hotel before the final when 3 handsome strangers cross her path. All are handsome, and she feels a connection to them all but she doesnt know why.
Then starts the journey of adventure, near death experiences and love as she realises that things arent what they seem. Maia and the 3 strangers are more than they seem and have more abilities than Maia thought possible

Trickster’s Hunt (Three Tricksters Book 1) by Carrie Whitethorne
Trickster’s Hunt (Three Tricksters Book 1) by Carrie Whitethorne is the first book in the Three Tricksters series and a book I honestly didn’t know what to expect going into it. This is my first read by this author . I found myself drawn in from the beginning and I had a hard time putting it down once I started reading it. Maia is a fun character, she’s in London for a Contest. When three guys just randomly start appearing around her. What will happen when she realizes things aren’t as they seem with these three guys? Find out what happens next in this book I highly recommend reading. I can’t wait to read the next Book in this series.
Trickster Hunt is the first book the Three Tricksters series by Carrie Whitethorne. This Paranormal romance was a good read that follows Mia, a competitive eater who is in London for finals. After some irrational things happen three mysterious guys show up. No matter where she is these guys tend to be there as well and Mia cannot figure out why she is so drawn to them, and so are Amos, Rhett, and Silas.
I really enjoyed reading this book, at first I had worried as I felt it went a little slow but by chapter three I was wanting to read more and more about Mia and find out about the men that were being drawn to her. I am excited to read the other books in this series and give the book 4 stars!!!
Trickster’s Hunt
Three Tricksters
Book 1
By Carrie Whitethorne
This is a full length novel. Just the beginning of this series. Adult content due to language and adult themes.
This is a super fun book to read. It contains three gorgeous, mysterious men and one 19 year old young lady. Who would think she could have such a following? Maia is a competitive eater and has won a week stay at a hotel in London. Now she has these three men following her. They told her, they were there for her protection. Now her journey has just begun. Everything is not as she would have thought.
Carrie Whitethorne has written a unique story. I love her characters and Maia has to be my favorite. Can’t believe she weighs so little and eats so much. That in itself made this story fun. Well, until things start happening. Her three protectors are strong and beautiful. The description of all three, put an amazing picture in your head. While this is a new author for me, I plan on reading more from her. I hope book two comes quickly! Hint, Hint.
