Characters that one has come to care about are all together, trying to make the renovated estate into a successful hotel, school, and agricultural enterprise. Various issues and concerns arise that they must face. Hated to see the series end!
Emotional. Many different emotions.
Trials and Tribulations is the third book in the fabulous Robinswood series. It is now the 1950s and everything is changing dramatically for the Murphy’s and the Kenefick’s. This family saga is both engaging and entertaining. The characters now feel like old friends as we follow their struggles and their triumphs. Jean Grainger writes with honesty and heart and she does not shy away from Ireland’s troubled history.
I definitely recommend that you read these books in order. Not only are they wonderful books but the story leading up to the start of Trials and Tribulations is an integral part of this book.
I cannot recommend this book and series highly enough, I absolutely loved it.
I have thoroughly enjoyed this family saga set in Ireland.
The title of this book is very apt, and there are lots of hurdles to overcome, family disagreements, newcomers and heartbreak.
This title truly represents all parts of this book. This is an incredible story with amazing and lovable characters. A complete class act from the first page to the last! Have the tissues ready as they were definitely needed. The one downer about books is that I can’t read while I’m crying!
My new favorite book!
I have read all of the books in this series, but for someone who has not, any reference to a prior book is explained; therefore any of them would stand alone.
As with the previous Robinswood books, I absolutely loved this story and if Robinswood was a real place I would soon be booking my flight to Ireland!
I have read all of Jean Grainger’s books and always enjoy her insights into Irish life and history. I appreciate the research that goes into each book. Trials and Tribulations is the third in the Robinswood series, and my favorite of the three. It can be read as a stand alone, but you will enjoy it more if you read What Once Was True and Return to Robinswood first. I love Jean’s characters and character development. I truly come to care for each one and want to know more about their lives. Her plot development is superb, and her ability to perfectly describe settings make them come to life.
Jean Grainger has become one of my favorite authors. I buy her books without reading the synopsis. My grandmother always told me each and every one of us must earn our way into heaven. After reading this book I believe all these characters would be going straight to heaven
Trials and Tribulations is the third Robinswood story. While it works well as a stand alone, I really enjoyed watching the story unfold through all three books. This one is probably my favorite because we have moved past the war. Ms. Grainger really knows how to capture my interest. I know I will do nothing but read until I finish one of her epic tales. The well portrayed characters continue to grow and continue to face life’s ups and downs. This book did require several tissues! It is an amazing story that once again kept me up way too late!
