REVIEW: 3.5 STARS
“I tried not to gawk, but he was built like an athlete, tatted up like the rock star he was, and so freaking hot.”
Treyton is a feel good story ripe with drama and moments of bliss, followed up with some heartfelt actions. Predictable? Maybe. Formulaic? Somewhat. Cheesy? Not really, but it definitely had some tear-jerk moments that really socked it to my gut. I love this band, and I have enjoyed J Nathan’s books in the past, so this was a natural grab for me. I am definitely looking forward to more of these guys’ stories in this series.
As sweet as this one was, I struggled far more than I wanted to. When Trey and Brielle were being stubborn and working through their attraction, I was on board and getting all the anxiety pangs that I love when you’re fighting destiny. When they were battling it out, I was right there with them, pointing my finger….but some of it was a little rough around the edges.
I don’t feel that Brielle was thoroughly fleshed out, so I got more of a surface type background that didn’t totally jive with the abilities and actions of her in this current stage of her life. She was able to do things that didn’t necessarily line up with who she was now…..and those “certain set of skills” weren’t things you just retained. Definitely not muscle memory. Does that make me hate the book? Noooo. It just added a level of separation for me that I didn’t want to feel with this story. I wanted better details and more familiarity.
“I needed him to regret hurting me. I needed him to feel the pain I’d felt after overhearing him and Z talk about me. I needed him to realize what he’d lost when he didn’t trust me. And I need him to prove I was the only person in the world for him.”
I also struggled immensely with Brielle’s immaturity in some aspects. I don’t want to confuse immaturity with emotional pain, because I am not that cold hearted and can completely understand the variables that each emotion possesses. I grappled with her professional persona and her personal life – and how they played into her relationship with Trey. Those didn’t blend very well, nor was there very much crossover in the common sense department. But, I enjoyed her carefree side when she let loose. I loved when she was able to be giddy with him and fall hard for him and allow her heart to open up. I really did enjoy their dynamic and how hard he sought her out and how hard he worked at breaking her down. One of my favorite things to see.
The other side to that was that Treyton felt very developed and I connected with him a lot easier. I got a background on him. His quirks, his free personality, but also his vulnerability. She gave me that. I read him with confidence and I knew where he stood. He definitely made me weak in the knees. He gave me the anxiety pangs I so desperately crave. His pleading and his eyes, his heart and his vulnerability….mixed with his whispered truths. *bites nails* It was so perfectly “Trey” and I absolutely adored him.
PIVOT!! There is absolutely nothing I hate more than abhorrent parenting and the evil way they treat their kids and I definitely don’t like reading it. I feel like it’s a drama that is completely unnecessary in a story – no matter how bad you need to set up a hurting childhood background. It honestly ruins things for me, and unfortunately that happened with this one. Gosh, it really took me completely out of the story and it bothered me a lot, and not in the good way of eliciting emotions. I think it’s immature and petty and I find myself pushing that anger onto the storyline itself instead of compartmentalizing it. I just don’t like that drama and I most definitely don’t like how it always plays out and it just leaves me with a sour taste in my mouth.
So, even though I struggled more with this one than I wanted to, it was still a great addition to the Savage Beasts series and I cannot wait for more books with this band. With every negative, there was definitely a positive – so this review will sit squarely in the middle with me but I am still very excited for more.
“This was getting real. This was getting really freaking real.”

Treyton is a famous drummer for the band Savage Beasts, he embraces most of the stereotypical Rockstar ways and Brie being the band’s PR person is always getting him out of sticky situations. At first these two butt heads like no other one because Brie thinks Treyton doesn’t take anything seriously and is causing trouble and secondly Treyton thinks Brie is stuck up and rude. While on tour Treyton decides he wants to get to know Brie better and at first Brie thinks its just a rouse to win a bet but then he starts telling her things he hasn’t told anyone and they bond over the fact the both lost someone close to them when they were young. Brie has spent her entire life trying to get her father’s love and approval, so she is desperate to be part of a family or belong to someone. Trey and Brie finally realize they have a lot in common and even with Treyton’s tragic past he has overcome so many obstacles to be a great man and Brie is still seeking approval that she won’t ever get. Many times, miscommunication and distrusts come up and it seems like they never can get on the same page. When they are good together, they are great but when they are distrusting each other they are hurting each other so can they overcome their trust issues, or will they let the past and miscommunication drag them down? A great read and can’t wait for more
I was hesitant to read this one after Kozart because Brielle rubbed me wrong. I didn’t know if I could like her after what she did to Kozart and Tiffany. But of course, I did end up liking her . . . and feeling for the bs she had to deal with. Brielle is the PR rep for Savage Beast, and after the stunt she pulled with Kozart the band isn’t too happy with her. But she is determined to get on their good side again . . . and she needs a break from her reality so she goes on their European tour instead of working from Los Angeles.
I enjoyed this story but it felt an awful lot like Kozart’s story. The reason for their conflict was a bit different but it still boiled down to the same thing and that kind of bummed me out. Their stories played out different but the conflict being the same was a bit of a bummer for me. I still really enjoyed Treyton and Brielle’s story and would highly recommend it. Brielle and Treyton had some pretty good banter. They put off some pretty good angry vibes. But I really adored how much they got each other to open up, talk about their issues and face their fears. I really enjoyed these two and I really hoping the series doesn’t end with them.
Loved this drummer, he’ll melt your heart!
Brielle Patrick has been the publicist for world renown rock band, Savage Beasts for 5 years and her eyes are burnt from the things she’s seen and had to ‘fix’ for these guys. Treyton Collins has proved to be the most challenging of all of them- a playful manchild, getting himself into so much trouble, she’s become numb to it. He’s a lover of women…apparently…funny, but most of all, an extremely talented musician. Brielle and Trey have a had an up and down working relationship all these years, so when she decides to finally go on tour with them for the first time, it’s not what she expected. Brielle discovers that looks can be deceiving when it comes to a certain frustrating man! I loved getting to know him along with Brie..he was hot, sweet and everything in between, who knew??? Gotta love a sexy drummer.
Trey has more hidden layers than he lets on. Only Kozart, aka ‘Z’, his best friend and band mate from teens to now, knows what’s really underneath the surface. Trey begins to notice the strength behind Brie’s bluster, the humor under the professional facade she hides behind, he wants to know more.
So, the thaw begins as he tries to melt her ice and see the real woman he knows is in there somewhere. Brielle is torn by Trey’s outward persona and what’s going on in his beautiful mind and maybe his heart. So, was I! He was quite irresistible and I might have a teeny crush on him, I’ll admit it! I dare you to not feel the same by the end of their story.
Brielle was an awesome person- strong and smart, capable and beautiful, but always trying to prove herself worthy. Her awful truth is she’s had so much love from one parent and dealt with feeling totally unloved by the other. As it turned out, she and Trey might just need to be seen for who they are.
Bring the box of tissues along when you read this touching story. Don’t worry, some of the tears might be happy ones! This 2nd book made my heart tingle, flutter, crack- but just a little, and then it beat out of my chest at the end! How I just LOVE a perfectly wonderful epilogue to complete a perfectly amazing book. I couldn’t put this one down..always a sign of a read for me!
If you love rockstar romances with heart and soul, this 2nd book in the Savage Beasts series is not to be missed. I can only hope there is more to come with 2 band members left with their own stories to tell. Treyton can stand alone but why would you want to miss out??? Start with front man Kosart’s road to his HFN and then dive right into Trey. Come on, 2 books is nothing, find a comfy spot and binge away…
Trey And Brie And Rock and Roll
Treyton Collins is the kick-ss drummer for Savage Beasts with a past he would rather stay there…For five years, Trey has been a constant problem for the band’s publicist…She’s always having to clean up his messes….until he sees something better…something more…something he likes….Brie…
Brielle Patrick is the bad-ss publicist for Savage Beasts…She doesn’t get close to anyone or let anyone get close to her…She works for her father’s company, but she is never good enough for him…and she’s ALWAYS trying to prove herself to him….Mr. Patrick is cold and cruel, and he may be the worst father ever!!
Treyton and Brielle are two of a kind…They both had a rough childhood…lost their mothers young…and they are, obviously, who they are because of it…and I think they are also drawn to each other because of it…I loved Treyton and Brielle…and their chemistry and their need for each other is palpable….Another good book by J. Nathan…
Treyton (A Savage Beasts Rock Star Romance Book 2)
J. Nathan
This is the second book in this series. I loved Kozart, but I believe Treyton even more. Treyton is the drummer in Savage Beasts and is Kozart’s best friend. They are on tour, and their PR person Brielle is on tour with them this year. She is used to having to get Treyton out of trouble, has worked with him for 5 years, but doesn’t really know him. Treyton decides he wants to get to know her so he starts talking to her, and they share something about themselves daily. Both of them suffered losses when they were 10, and they sort of bond over that, and they both realize that there is more to the other than they thought. Brie lets her hair down a little while on the tour, and Treyton realizes she is a human. She makes him feel things he has never felt before. I loved how they acted together. Of course I was upset when things went bad because of the misunderstanding and Brie’s dad. I loved how even thought Brie was no longer working for the band, she still reached out to him about the NICU hospital once she heard back from the lady. The hospital scenes were amazing, also how Treyton was with Matteo. It also brings attention to drug addicted babies. I can’t wait to read the rest of the books in this series! You could read as a standalone, but I would start with Kozart if I was you.
Oh my
Love this book ..Trey and Brie have this chemistry that is so hot and sexy but same time they get one each other nerves . That it make you wonder if they can make it as a couple . Brie get tired of keeping Trey Out of trouble and at same Trey feeling being miss judge ..can’t they get over everything and get on same page and enjoy the chemistry and make the relationship work…this is a must read book .i hope we get to read my of these characters
Loved it, this book is everything that i look for ina boook. Hot streamy and sexxy, must read. Definitely recommend.
I liked Kozart, the first book in this series, but I loved this one! The main characters were fantastic and I loved how they grew as individuals from their pasts/pain and how they came together as a couple. Great story!! I’ll definitely continue reading this series!!
So I may eat these words but I think Treyton and Brielle might be my favorite couple of the series! These two had rough pasts, one neglected by her dad after her mom’s passing and the other wasn’t wanted my his drugged out mom. Despite this, both have made names for themselves. Brielle is an ice queen when it comes to PR work and the band, mostly Treyton, gives her plenty of work. Everyone has this image of Treyton but it could the furthest from the truth. He does his part for the band and that’s what been happening. He’s determined to see a different side to Brielle. Brielle is afraid to let anyone in. She’s all business, all the time. Spending time with the band and seeing a different side to Treyton, makes her tear down the walls. He has a way of comforting her and getting her to do things she wouldn’t normally do. He makes her day fun and in return she finds herself falling for him. Yes there’s issues that they have to overcome and there’s a fun surprise that I loved so freakin much and made for a sweetest ending! These two made an European tour super fun and I can’t wait to see what/who is next in this series!! Treyton definitely shows he’s more then a drummer and a pretty face. He has a heart and loves to make Brie happy, which in turn, makes me happy! I loved this book so hard!!!
Love story of a drummer and a publicist. Treyton is the ultimate bad boy rock star. He loves women and doesn’t care what the press says about him. Brielle is a true professional. She can turn a bad situation into something that was meant to be. She dresses the part and she knows she’s good. She also knows there’s a certain drummer who gets in so much trouble that they are constantly at odds.
I loved the real Trey and how Brie opened up herself to him. These two are complete opposites and for a brief moment they give in to their explosive chemistry. These two have a fight in store for them but the way they resolve their differences and come together is perfect and heartwarming.
I read this book within 1 day it was soooo good and I just couldn’t put it down! Trenton has a troubled past and is this sassy, sexy drummer from a very popular rock group. Brie is the bands PA and is always cleaning up after the guys and their messes. But while on tour with them things start to change for Brie and Treyon, they start learning more about each other and how not so different their lives are. They push each other’s buttons and have this amazing chemistry! He turns her world around and she gets to see a whole new side of him. Do they get their happy ending?
This is a book you do not want to pass up!! It was my first from this author and it won’t be my last!!
You never know when love is going to strike. Treyton is the band and Brielle is the publicist. Not exactly a match made in Heaven since sometimes Treyton gets out of hand and needs to be managed. But Brielle is just the girl for the job and maybe for his forever.
I enjoyed this book. It’s the second I’ve read by J Nathan.
It was an easy read, some drama but not so much your head spins.
I’ll certainly read more books about these rockstars.
This is an excellent follow up to ax’s story. I loved every minute of it. Can’t wait to see what’s next.
I was given an ARC of this book for an honest review and I have to say that, I LOVED IT! I didn’t even know who J. Nathan was until reading the 1st book in the Savage Beasts series, Kozart, which I absolutely fell in love with. This 2nd installment did not disappoint and I can’t wait for the next one!
Treyton is book 2 in the Savage Beast Rock Star Romance series. Treyton is the bad boy drummer in the band Savage Beast. Brielle is the bands publicist and has been cleaning up after Treyton. These 2 are like oil and water. Polar opposites. But now they have to.deal with each other when Brielle goes with the band overseas. I enjoyed reading this book.
Oh yes yes yes. This book was fantastic. Who doesn’t love a good light yet meaningful book. I really enjoyed reading every minute of this book and once I started reading it I simply could not put it down. Definitely recommended.
Yet another amazing read by J. Nathan! The Savage Beasts Series is going to continue to be one day reads as more of the characters get their own books.
Treyton is the drummer of Savage Beast. Your typical bad boy, tatted up drummer living the life of a rockstar. Always seeming to find trouble, Treyton has a “handler” in Bree Patrick, their uptight publicist. She is there to keep the boys of Savage Beast out of the limelight of their antics. She has her hands full with Treyton. Trying to regain the confidence of the band after her last publicity stunt (read book #1, you’ll know what I am talking about) Bree sets out on an overseas tour with the boys. Along the way, she starts to question herself, her life choices, and where she is headed. She also discovers that bad boy Treyton has a lot to teach her about life and overcoming odds. When the two take a chance at something, it is as hot and steamy as you would expect.
This is only the second book in the series and I am anxiously waiting for the next. Take the time to read this series and find out why rocker books are great reads.
Book 2 in the Savage Beasts series and it was just as good as the first. This can be read as a standalone. This story centers on the drummer Treyton and the band’s publicist Brie. Loved their story. Brie decided to get away from her boyfriend and father to decompress so she went on tour with the band. Trey and Brie have a love hate relationship so it was fun watching them overcome that and become a couple. Can’t wait to read more of this series.
I received an ARC of this book and I am voluntarily leaving a review.
The Savage Beasts guys are definitely growing on me!
I felt a special connection with Treyton from the very beginning, through the Authors writing I was drawn into his world, feeling the emotions and sharing in his accomplishments. He has not has an easy road and yet he navigates his with confidence and fun. Getting Brie’s backstory really hurt my heart, but it gave insight into what makes her tick and making me want happiness for her. I loved the places we seen along the Bands journey, the activities you feel a part of, the loyalty these characters exude. The ending was PERFECT and HEARTWARMING.
Bring on the rest of the Boys….
