What a great ending to this series! I definitely did not see that coming with Claire’s reveal. I enjoyed watching Trey and Mia break out of their respective shells and unknowingly fall in love. My only question at the end is… was the rest of the family informed of the huge secret? It was such a big plot device and it wasn’t clear if it was revealed to everyone else.
And here we are. The last book, the last Blackthorne man to possibly get bitten by that little ole love bug, and then there’s that SECRET that just screams at every one of them, taunting them all as does the woman who holds that secret and her reasoning for taking off from her family like she did. Now is the time for answers and Trey is just the man for the job. He just didn’t count on meeting the beautiful and whimsical Mia Thomas. Friends with his mother, Mia meets him outside the apartment building that she and Claire live in and informs him that his mother asked her to meet him and bring him up to where she’s been staying. He’s beat and finding out that his mother isn’t even there makes his head pound a little more. Mia is concerned that he may have come down with something, but he assures her that Blackthorne’s do not get sick!
I loved this book even when it threatened to make me cry, I still loved it. The story is sweet, a bit painful and so very romantic. And that goes for both Trey and Mia! I want to go into so much more detail about this book and I am sure that others will do just that, but my feelings are, for this book you need to read the story fresh and for the first time so that you will be able to ride all of the emotions that it will bring to you.
This is an amazing book that is well written with characters that you will not be able to keep from falling in love with. As a matter of fact, I dare you not to fall for any of them in this entire series! I cannot recommend this book….this series…more highly! 20 stars if possible..but definitely 5 stars!
I really liked Trey and Mia. Trey is an all work and no play kind of guy. But when he gets to Paris to talk to his mother, he is met by Mia. She is going to help him loosen up whether he likes it or not. Since his mother is MIA, he decides to see a bit of Paris with Mia. Paris is known as the city of love and neither Trey or Mia are immune. Neither really believes in happy ever after, but they may just change their minds.
What a great ending to the 7 Brides for 7 Blackthorns series! I loved Trey and Mia! They were great for each other! They meet when Trey goes to see his mother in Paris. This story is an emotional roller coaster ride to get to complete the circle of the Blackthorns story. Finally the secret that runs through the series is revealed! It’s a life changing moment for Trey! What will the future hold for Trey? I loved this book and the whole 7 Brides for 7 Blackthorns series! I recommend it to everyone!
Wow. Talk about a bombshell. Trey never expected to learn the secret was about him. He’s always been the fixer, but how does he fix this?
Mia is scared and lonely and with Trey’s help she is able to complete her mission in Paris. Saying goodbye is never easy, but with his help she is able to complete the requisite bucket list while remembering Nic, but also having fun. And in the process, Trey has learned what having fun and not being tied to business means.
They come together in such an unlikely way, but they just click. Through fun, sadness, crepes, and feelings of not belonging, they manage to fall in love. As Trey is questioning his place in the family and the business, Mia is there to distract him.
Graham Blackthorne does not know how to express himself in words. He thinks he’s being a good husband and father by making sure his family wants for nothing. Problem is his wife wants him to slow down and take some time with her. Will he fix this problem, or will it fester? Will Trey follow in his father’s footsteps?
This was my favorite book in the series. I loved the story as well as learning what the secret is. But I loved seeing Trey realize he needs more in life than work. Now, I want Nana’s story. We got glimpses in each of the books, but I think that woman has led a colorful life and I would love to read her story (hint hint).
We finally reach the conclusion to the 7 Brides for 7 Blackthornes. And what an adventure this series has taken us on! While this book could be read as a standalone, you really do need to read the series in order so that you don’t miss all the little breadcrumbs each author drops that lead to the big reveal in this book. And it was NOT what I was expecting. But honestly, I really hadn’t decided what I expected the big secret to be. So many options, but this one didn’t cross my mind at all. Curious to know what it is?! Dive into the series today!
NICUnurse’s Rating: Finally. FINALLY! Graham got his head out of his butt and pursued his wife. About darn time, dude! I still want to smack him Gibbs style just for the fact that it took him so long to finally man up. But at least he did. And I think of all the characters, Trey and Mia are my favorite couple. And who doesn’t love a love story that takes place in Paris?! Both characters are reeling from huge emotional blows, but somehow are able to pick each other up and heal each other’s wounds. I give Trey by Christie Ridgway 4.5 out of 5 stars! And as a whole, I give the 7 Brides for 7 Blackthornes series 4.5 out of 5 stars as well. It was very entertaining, and I loved how each author kept their voice but was able to blend into the series seamlessly. I also admired how well each author took a unique brick to build the Blackthorne world from different perspectives, yet kept it flowing well throughout the series. The entire series is well worth your investment of time and money, so why not jump in right now?!
This book is #7, in the 7 Brides for 7 Blackthornes series. This book can be read as a standalone novel. For reader enjoyment, and to avoid spoilers, I recommend reading this series in order.
Trey meets Mia in Paris, thanks to his mother making herself unavailable. He is overly tired, overly hungry, and ready to scream. Then his scheming mother tries again, and he is suddenly wandering the city with a beautiful woman.
Mia does not want to be attracted to Trey. Doing a friend a favor is one thing. It’s totally another when you can’t resist and kiss him. She needs to keep to why she came to Paris and promises she has made.
This book was kind of a surprise. I was eager to get to this one, for both stories that are running through this series. I loved the banter. I found the pace to be nice and careful. The characters seemed to hit it off right away and that thrilled me. I was rooting for them by their first kiss.
