Trey Blackthorne, oldest son, makes an unplanned trip to Paris to find his mother, Claire. Something has upset his mother and she left the family home with little warning. Mia Thomas, Claire’s young friend, is waiting for Trey when he arrives as his mother is travelling. Mia is following a list given to her by her dearest friend who recently passed away. She is visiting all the places that she and her friend had hoped to do prior to her death. Although Trey is not used to having free time, as he is all about the Blackthorne business interests, he is at a loose end and accompanies Mia on her quest to fulfill the list. As they spend time together, the attraction they both feel grows stronger. When a startling family secret is divulged, Trey’s whole world is up ended. How does this news change the entire concept of his life and family? A beautiful romantic story about a woman who through her quest to bring closure to her friends’ life, helps a man gain knowledge of what is truly important in life. I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation from the author. (by paytonpuppy)
This book might be one of my favorites in the series. Though I’ve only gotten through 5 of them so far. The big secret is revealed and it is heartbreaking for the one it’s about. I don’t want to spoil the big secret but worth the read, the Blackthornes show their love and loyalty. And I loved watching Trey and Mia fall in love in the city of lights! I kept adding locations to my to see when in France list
So we have a come to the final book of the multi author series and I loved Trey just as much as the other stories of the series. Trey is being groomed to take over for his father when he retires and is known as the fixer of the family. So when the family decides that his mother and father‘s separation is going to come to an end they send Trey to Paris to talk to his mother. He is the most logical choice after all but what he doesn’t count on is meeting Mia in Paris. There is this intense attraction between Mia and Trey and they hit it off. Mia is very well-suited for Trey, they listen to each other and bounce ideas off one another. But Paris holds a secret for the family and when it is revealed what will Trey do with that information? I highly recommend this book!
This is the last book in this series and it is just has good as the rest in the series. This one ends the series perfectly. It answers so many questions that you are given throughout the whole series. Trey decides to go to Paris to figure out what is going on with his mom and this big secret. He wants to know why she hasn’t come home after all this time. While in Paris he meets Mia. Mia has made friends with his mother. Mia is there on a mission to live out her best friend (sister’s) wish list. Trey decides to go along for the ride. What a ride these two go on. It helps them both to realize that there is more than life than working and just living. But will things work out for these two once the truth comes out about who Trey really is? What a secret was not at all expecting that. I absolutely loved this one and it was a great ending to this series. Loved it and want more from all these authors.
This is the final book in this enjoyable series and I thought it was delightful! This read focuses on Trey and Mia. Having read the previous books in this series I’ll admit I have been waiting for Trey’s story. I liked these two as a couple. Aside from the great chemistry that these two shared and the support they gave each other; what I really loved was how Mia brought some lightness and fun into Trey’s life. His responsibility to fix every problem that arose for his family and their business was a very weighty burden to carry. Plenty of emotions, drama, the revelation of a long held secret, humor, sweetness and a incredibly moving romance are combined to create a book that should not be missed.
Although this is the 7th book in the series, I read it as a stand alone. I received a free ARC from the author. And while I missed the romance of the Blackthornes, Ridgeway provided enough back story to not make this a problem. This is my unbiased and voluntary review.
Trey is Graham Wallace Blackthorne III, hence called “Trey”, the oldest of the youngest Blackthorne generation, (3 brothers and 3 male cousins, all raised by his parents) the only one not to have found his “other half” as he has been too busy following in his father’s footsteps, ready to take control of the family business, once his father finally retires. He is also the “fixer” of the family. During a big birthday party for their mother’s 60th birthday, his father had brought the business into the festivities and his mother had had it. With a mysterious reference to a long held secret, she packed her bags and took off for Paris. Having been gone long enough for all the other Blackthornes to have found romance, Trey is tasked with going to Paris to bring his mother home. What he finds instead is Mia Thomas, a young neighbor to Claire Blackthorne, who is in Paris to fulfill a promise to her deceased BFF- take her ashes to all the places on her bucket list and then spread them out on the Mediterranean. She has not been able to get very far, but when Trey comes and his mother is gone, he helps her and by doing so, finally gets a vacation of his own. Mia was scarred for life by her parent’s ugly divorce, so is willing to agree to a Paris fling. But once the secret is revealed, Trey’s life is sent into a tailspin. What will happen when two people who never wanted to be in love, find it?
The characters are wonderful and endearing, especially with Trey’s method of soothing himself, the plot interesting and snappy witty banter make this a very entertaining read.
What a great conclusion to an amazing series! This one brought tears to my eyes, not only for the story line, but that this series is over! 5 stars for the grand finale and I think you all need to write a whisky wedding novellas for each couple!!
Meet the oldest of the Blackthornes, Trey. The one who they say is most like their father in work ethic. The other Blackthornes decide that since he’s the oldest he needs to go to Paris and bring their mother/aunt home. Trey goes, not at all happy about it, but what he doesn’t plan on is the beautiful woman waiting there to let him in his moms apartment.
Mia is there in Paris fulfilling her best friend Nicolette’s wishes. When she’s thrown into an adventure with her friend Claire’s son, Trey, will it make her task easier or harder for her.
Read along and enjoy the farewell to this series!
Ridgway could have so easily gotten lost in tying up loose ends. Instead she had the wherewithal to bring the rollercoaster that is the Blackthorne family, full circle. Trey is a tale of new beginnings versus past regret. For Trey and Mia love proves itself to be risky business. For the matriach and patriach of the Blackthorne clan, it’s about making their way into a fresh start. Ridgway closes out an amazing series in the same way it was began. With a little bit of heartache, a ton of soul and an all encompassing love.
This was an endearing, but still steamy, end to the 7 Brides for 7 Blackthornes series.
Trey is on the hunt for his mother, and her secrets, when he runs into her charming neighbor. Mia is on a heart wrenching journey when she meets the man who can make her trip more about smiles and less about tears. In Paris, they find not just each other, but also themselves.
I read an advanced copy of this book
HOLY MOLY do I ever love me some Trey. OH MY Gosh the author took my emotions and spread them all over from Boston to Paris and back again. Just Wow. Kudos to the author for an outstanding storyline.
Trey is the oldest Blackthorne son. Raised to follow in his father’s footsteps. He’s a workaholic and the families go to guy when they need things fixed. Never stopping to live a moment of his life for just him. His brothers team up on him and convince him to go to Paris to bring their mother home and to find out what the big secret is their mother is keeping (the one we readers have been tempted with throughout the six previous books). Bound and determined he agrees. He just doesn’t count on his mother being gone and sending Mia, a shy beautiful artist that has befriended his mother, to meet him. Mia is in Paris on a personal mission of her own. One she has put off doing and has no clue how she is going to find the courage to do so. But when she meets the stuffy, Trey Blackthorne she convinces him to help her.
Reluctantly Trey begins to tour Paris with Mia and finds a whole new side of himself he never let show. But when his mother returns and the secret is revealed, Trey for once is at a total loss at how to fix not only himself but the things he’s always believed. This is an amazing eye opening read that melted my heart. I felt all the pain and happiness Trey, Mia, and the Blackthornes lived through as the book unfolded. Simply Phenomenal!!!
2 Thumbs Up and 5 Stars for Trey and the entire Blackthorne Brothers Series.
Trey is the fixer in the family. As the oldest of the Blackthorne brothers, they look to him to solve their problems. And the problem he is tasked with is to go to Paris to bring his mother home. In doing so, he learns a secret that will shake up his foundation and leave him questioning himself and his place in the family. While on his mission, he meets Mia. She is on her own difficult mission, saying goodbye to her friend. The two meet and make a connection unlike either has experienced before. They had great chemistry and fit together so well, each filling a void for the other. I received an advance copy and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Trey by Christie Ridgway is book 7 and the final book in the series 7 Brides for 7 Blackhornes. This series was everything I could have wanted and OMG…I certainly didn’t see this coming…
Trey, the eldest Blackthorne son has been elected to go to Paris and see if he can talk to their mother and get to the bottom of the secret that has torn his parents apart and been the underlying story in all the books…what he doesn’t expect is to meet a woman…Mia Thomas…who shows him that life is worth living out in the world instead of behind a desk.
Can Trey learn what the secret is about, convince his mother to return to the states and to his father? Will he and Mia open up their hearts to each other and find their HEA or will it all turn to ashes?
The final and eldest Blackthorne! The secret is finally revealed! I totally did not see it coming. This is the seventh book and while each Blackthorne has speculated about what the family secret could be; dating back to when the first Blackthorne came to America, things like maybe the treasured family whisky recipe was stolen from another or perhaps there was even a covered up a murder. Yes, there have been rumors flying around the Blackthorne family name for quite a long time and we finally get the secret revealed.
Trey Blackthorne is known as the family fixer. Everyone in the company and the family come to him to fix problems. With Claire Blackthorne still MIA, the other boys come to him to request that he fly to Paris where she has been staying and bring her home. He is the family fixer after all and there has never a problem that he can’t solve.
You see Claire, at her 60th birthday party left in a bit of a huff, after her husband, Graham, was conducting business during her birthday party mind you, and declared she’d had enough. While she was giving her speech she also said she was no longer keeping the Blackthorne secret, but she never said what that secret was before she left. Her leaving and the announcement of this elusive secret has been hanging over the family for months now. With little communication since she left, Trey boards a plane to finally find out what is going on with his mother and hopefully bring her back home. What he discovers in Paris is not what he ever imagined.
Trey left the states a complete workaholic, a mirror image of his father. He has been groomed his entire life to take over the Blackthorne empire and he has never questioned it. Going to Paris put a new perspective on his life. He has never once taken a vacation for pleasure, but arriving there he is forced to slow down, take in the sights, enjoy the food, and especially enjoy the company of his mother’s neighbor, Mia Thomas. Mia brings out a side of Trey he wishes he had more time for, but it also makes him realize why can’t he make more time for the pleasurable things. What is he working so hard so hard if he can’t stop and smell the roses? He really is turning into his father one day at a time. These are questions that plague him while he’s there, along with the secret that comes crashing down around him.
Mia Thomas is in Paris with a specific goal, she is there to say goodbye to not only a good friend, but she was more like a sister. Her final wishes were to see the sights of Paris. It isn’t until Trey arrives that Mia has the courage to leave her small room and really venture out. Together they experience the culture and sights that only Paris can bring and even though they are both people who guard their hearts, it’s nearly impossible not to fall a little in the city that is wrapped in lovers. Each destination bring her closer to crossing things off her list, but it also brings them closer together, which is something they both agreed wouldn’t happen. This was only supposed to be a Paris affair, no strings, and no falling in love.
Mia and Trey are each others yin and yang and so perfectly matched I really enjoyed their story. I was a bit worried how the hardest working brother was going to let go and be able to fall in love, but I think a trip away from everything was the perfect way to do it. I loved how Trey was able to let go and really unwind and Mia was the perfect mirror for Trey to get a glimpse of himself so he wouldn’t automatically step back into his workaholic ways.
Christie Ridgway brought me right into the heart of Paris and I was vacationing right along with Mia and Trey. This kind of book is why I read, I get to travel to new places without leaving the comfort of my living room.
As for the big secret….you will need to discover that on your own…no spoilers here…but Trey’s book will tie the series up nicely and you won’t be disappointed.
This was another great addition to the Blackthornes series. Trey is the oldest of the group, but the last to find to be given his story. The secret that has been bothering the family since their mother’s birthday party is finally revealed and it’s a whopper. It shakes Trey to his core, but luckily the woman he met in Paris when going to confront his mother is at his side to help him through it.
Mia is in Paris to finish the bucket list of her best friend who passed away. Luckily, Trey is there to help her accomplish it and encourage her.
They are friends, but things are heating up. Neither is looking for or wanting love. Can they keep it to friends or is love going to have it’s way with them?
Ridgway’s characters are great and her plots fun, sexy and emotional. This was a quick, easy to read and highly enjoyable book. I’m so glad that Trey finally got his story!
I was given a complimentary copy of this book. All thoughts are my own.
Hold onto your seats and enjoy Trey. If you have read any of the 7 Brides for 7 Blackthornes then you know there is a secret to uncover. Trey is the final book of the series and Christie Ridgway did a fabulous job bringing it to light with Trey and his adventures in Paris. Trey is the workaholic and the oldest set off to bring his mother back home. I love the changes Trey goes through during this one. You see him go from workaholic to more human. The chemistry is sizzling when it comes to Trey and Mia. Mia is a delight, a breath of fresh air. Even with what she is going through I just love how she helps Trey along the way. I love Trey and Mia together. I couldn’t put this one down.
As the oldest Blackthorne, Trey has always known the direction his life will take. Trey will take over as CEO of the Blackthorne empire when his father retires – which won’t be anytime soon. When Trey’s mother walks out of his and his sibling’s lives, it is up to Trey to go to Paris to talk some sense into her and bring her home. What Trey doesn’t bargain on is meeting Mia, the beautiful but sad woman who lives in the basement apartment. When Trey’s life is turned upside down by the revelation of a “secret”, he turns to Mia for comfort and finds out there is more to life than just work. This is a wonderful story of love, betrayal and family unity.
Trey is the final book in the 7 Brides for 7 Blackthornes and what a way to end a great series. I was sad to see this series come to an end because I loved these swoon worthy Blackthornes and the Brides they fell in love with but more importantly I loved the concept of different authors writing each book and too be honest they all flowed so well you would never have guessed who wrote which book if their names hadn’t been on the covers.
Trey is the son being groomed to take over the Blackthorne empire when his father retires, he is the one that fixes any problems in the family so he is naturally the one to follow his mother to Paris and find out what secret she is keeping what he didn’t expect was the secret to be about him…..
Mia meets Trey when he is struggling and sparks fly but not in a good way , these guys may be perfect for each other but they need to get over the awkwardness from their first meeting.
This is a story that gives us answers to the secret that we first heard about in book 1 but it’s also a beautifully written romance with a few emotional twists and turns and it’s the perfect conclusion to the series. I would recommend this book and this series to all romance lovers because these stories will captivate you and I’m sure like me you will fall big time for this family and their partners.
What an emotional end to this terrific series! While at the end, it was an uplifting story of the power of love, there were several interactions that brought me to tears. The way Trey reacted when he learned the “secret”. Mia’s reason for being in Paris. Mia’s realization she loved Trey and similarly Trey’s reality in being in love with Mia. The scene at the end with Nana. Want to know what I’m talking about? Read the book!
Each book can be read as a stand alone but each is the story of one of the brothers/cousins. An ongoing storyline was the relationship between Claire & Graham, Mom & Dad. Each book has dedicated a small portion to the discord between them & the “secret” they’ve kept.
Trey has flown to Paris to see his mother, Claire, & try to get her to come home. He didn’t realize his world was about to be rocked & that he’d ever be the same.
Mia was on a mission. She was in Paris to fulfill a bucket wish & a promise. She had become friends with Claire & was the one to greet Trey when he arrived in Paris. As Trey worked with her fulfilling the list, they became close & their feelings grew.
5 Star review Brock (7 Brides for 7 Blackthornes #7) by Christie Ridgway
Trey is the final book in the 7 Brides for 7 Blackthornes series and what a fitting way to end a series I have become invested in. Trey is being groomed to take over when his father retires. He is known as the fixer in the family and therefore carries a heavy weight on his shoulders; his priority is his family and their businesses above all else.
When the brothers decide that someone needs to go to Paris to talk to their mother and try and bring their parents separation to an end, Trey is the logical choice. Despite his miss-givings, he agrees and on arriving in Paris meets Mia Thomas.
Trey meets Mia when he is not at his best and initially there are sparks but not of the good kind. I really liked Mia she was well suited to Trey and once the initial awkwardness was resolved, it became apparent that the attraction between Trey and Mia is intense.
Paris will give him the answer to the family secret but what will it do to Trey when all is revealed? I loved how both of them were there for one another to listen too. I really liked Mia she was well suited to Trey and brought out a softer more vulnerable side to the business man.
This is a well written, romantic, passionate read which drew me in and captivated me with the strong writing. It was also an emotional read as secrets were revealed and lives and knowledge turned on it’s head.
As the oldest of the Blackthorne siblings/cousins Trey has always been the one to fix things and always made sure that the rest of the boys were on the right path, so it was not unusual for him to be the one chosen to fly to Paris to bring their mother home. But confronting his mom takes a back seat when Mia enters the picture. Finding someone he can talk to becomes so important when the family secret is revealed. Is Trey strong enough to overcome the one thing that can rock him to his core? Will Mia be able to be the pillar of strength for the one Blackthorne that is used to being the pillar for all the others? This book was heart breaking and at the same time heart warming. With each turn of the page I became more invested in Trey’s happiness and getting to the end was an emotional ride. I am so sorry to see this series end but at the same time I know this will be one I will re-read again and again.
