Trespassing combines the creeping dread of a gothic novel with the page-turning suspense of a contemporary grip-lit thriller. A drip-feed of revelations forces the reader to question their theories in time with the narrator, as she is tipped over the edge of sanity by the eerie predictions of her daughter’s imaginary friend. This sinister atmosphere makes for a sleep-stealing novel; it is hard to put down and even harder to put out the light.
Deceit, Betrayal, or Insanity?

Adult situations that I think would be disturbing to young readers
Some strong language
Sexual situations but no graphic details
Veronica, the main character and her husband Micah are attempting to have another child using IVF.
Micah disappears. Their 3-year-old daughter’s imaginary friend has the creepy ability to predict events, or does she? Is Veronica losing her mind?
Unable to trust anyone, Veronica embarks on a terrifying search for answers.
Compelling.
Trespassing is a Suspense novel that introduces mind-boggling twists one after another and manages to tie everything up nicely in the end. It was beautifully written, edited and each new discovery was presented with perfect timing. The hero, Veronica is a character most women and probably men can relate to and not once did I doubt anything she chose to do. Everyone but her is a suspect in this story, until they aren’t.
I spent the whole book wondering how the heck the author was going to answer each new question I had about this twisted tale.
VERY good Thriller/Suspense/Mystery/Women’s Fiction.
The characters and mystery were totally gripping and kept me guessing right up to the end. Loved the twists, foreshadowing, and misdirection.

Veronica Cavanaugh and her husband Micah have been having a difficult time of getting pregnant for all of their marriage. After a round of IVF they had Elizabella and she’s a miracle. When Bella’s three they finally get pregnant with twin boys only to lose them. Even so, they keep trying, but in the middle of their next round of fertilizing eggs Micah just disappears. And his disappearance triggers an investigation that has Veronica sitting at the very top of the suspect list. As the police dig deeper more and more things about Micah come to light and Veronica can’t seem to catch her breath. On top of all of this, Bella has an imaginary friend who drops tidbits about Micah. The most devastating of which is that Micah is dead. What?!
Veronica is losing it. Or thinks she is. Hit after hit keeps coming and with the police breathing down her neck, she’s beginning to wonder if her mom’s mental illness has been passed along to her after all. Things come to a head in the Florida Keys, but before that Veronica’s world is forever and always changed.
This book is at times wonderful and other times frustrating. It clips right along and then slows down to an unbearable crawl. Veronica is also not very likeable at times and other times really stupid. Not all the time, just enough to irritate. The mystery of Micah keeps the book intriguing and is the reason I had to keep reading. And let me tell you, I was totally not expecting that last part of the book. I had theories, but wow. I did not see that coming. Any of it. Totally worth my time.
This was a surprising plot and an even more surprising end. There are a lot of things that aren’t what they seem to be, keeping you interested from beginning to end.
Didn’t see it coming
An excellent psychological suspense. Is the narrator reliable? Her family? Friends? Police? I was never sure until the end, which is why I enjoyed it so much.
The husband of a woman, who at times doubts her own sanity, goes missing. Her three year old daughter, who has an “imaginary” friend, seems to have the ability to reveal mysterious tidbits of information to her mother. The story grabbed me immediately and kept my me questioning what was real, who was real, and which characters could be trusted. The story, dialog and character development were all excellent. I must admit that the mother, and particularly the whiny daughter, were a bit irritating at times. I love psychological suspense/thrillers and this book was a great brain teaser for me. Well done!
Enjoyable read. Would recommend.
Captivating and enthralling, I couldn’t get enough of this story and it’s eerie premise. As the reader, you find yourself plagued with neverending questions and an insatiable hunger to find the answers, and get to the bottom of what is really going on! I found Veronica very relatable in her heartfelt desire to be a mother, and everything she went through to become one. I feel this novel, through the trials and tribulations of our narrator, offers a final message of courage, hope, and strength. I definitely recommend this title. It is solid all the way around, it keeps you glued to the pages, drives you insane with anticipation, is brimming with mystery and intrigue, and keeps you thinking about it even when your not reading it! I must confess… I took it with me everywhere I went until I finally reached the satisfying ending. I’ll definitely be watching for more from Brandi Reeds!
I could not put this book down! Absoluting spellbinding !
good mystery.
Wow, what a great read! I couldn’t figure out what was going to happen next. I really couldn’t put it down.
Wow! I loved this book and could not put it down. I finished it in one day. I can’t wait to read more books by this, author. It kept me guessing until the end!
A very entertaining plot line that leaves you guessing from beginning to the end and maybe a little more afterwards. Endorsed as a psychological thriller it lives up to the billing. The main character in the story, Veronica Cavanaugh, may feel herself slipping off the fine edge into insanity but in reality I think she is a pretty smart cookie. This is a great read. Don’t miss it.
This is a pretty good story, but the main character and her three year old are both extremely irritating. Veronica is whiny. She is doing IVF and all she does is whine about how tired, how sore, how bloated, how miserable she is. Her three year old Ellie Belle, makes my teeth hurt. This child is so spoiled you wonder does this woman really need another child.
Veronica’s husband leaves for work and doesn’t return. Then Veronica finds out she knows nothing at all about her husband. But in the month or so covered by the book, she manages to find a new man, even though her husband, Micah was her reason for living? Maybe not.
All the reviews on Amazon rave about how they couldn’t put this book down, it was so wonderful. Maybe I read the wrong book?
Like I said good story, irritating characters. May or may not read more by Ms. Reeds.
