I enjoyed the story and the characters.
I love this series by this author!!
I’ve read them all.
This is the second book I’ve read with character; I don’t know how she gets involved with so many murders in everyday life! The story turned out to have a surprising ending. Will read about this character again.
Not my type I book
This book is about two eccentric women who leave their mansion to a charity. The main character is hired to clean out the house and sell the contents for the charity. She discovers that the women were sisters and not a woman and her maid. She also finds out someone is willing to go to great lengths to cover up that fact.
A little too much background at first but the story picked up in the latter chapters. Enjoyed the book.
Different to the Frank Bennett books but equally interesting. More of a feminine touch to this series (obviously).
I got this book for free and am always willing to give free books a try. Most of the free books I have gotten are real duds but this book was really, really good! Loved the characters and the plot of the story. I also am intrigued by mansions, old money and the secrets of the wealthy! Don’t hesitate to read this book, I couldn’t put it down!
5th in a series I have not read, but it reads just fine on its own without having to read the earlier books. Our sleuth runs a business operating high-end estate sales, which puts her in cool old houses, filled with cool old stuff, left by unique people. Her cop husband gives her an “in” on the crime side of things, and her street-savvy African American partner gives her an “in” with different communities in town. In this book, a wealthy widow and her maid/companion had been recluses for decades. They passed within days of each other and the mansion holds mysteries. There are some convoluted family relationships involved which the author must have had to map out on a chart to keep her story together. Fun summer reading.
A good mystery to solve.
Antiques, mysteries, family drama and a bit of history all in one book. Enjoyed the read!
I loved this book and the characters which make me want to read the prior ones. Love dealing with antiques and also the plot was excellent!
I had a little trouble following the story as there were so many characters. The author tied up all the loose ends and by the end of the story it all comes together.
Snooze fest. Read 13 chapters (58 pages/25% of book) and this was going nowhere fast. Goo book to put you to sleep. Booooring.
