“A truly incredible historical novel. From the very beginning of Tread Softly on My Dreams by Gretta Curran Browne, I was captivated by the rugged beauty of Ireland’s mountains and its soft lush valleys. The author’s detailed description enhanced the vision for the story, while each new character increased the intrigue. Every path provided clarity of the situation, both personal and political, showing great determined strength of the human spirit to stand firm in the belief of a free Ireland, even at the expense of their own lives. I cheered the hero and heroines of the story, applauding their successes and shedding tears at the injustices, brutality, and suffering of the people who simply wanted their freedom. The reader’s heart will swell with the love Robert has for Sarah, and the unspoken love Anne has for Robert. A fantastic read from beginning to end.” — READERS’ FAVORITE
Set against the background of the beauty of Ireland, the dark clouds of its past, as well as the humour and dreams of its people, this is a passionate and powerful true story of three young people, Robert Emmet, Anne Devlin, and Sarah Curran, drawn together in love, in hope, and tragedy.

This was a wonderful book! The characters came to life, kept me glued to the story, which was fiction, but true and highly researched. I always wanted to know more about Ireland’s history, and this book had me researching more about it after reading the book. I can’t believe I got it for free, it’s worth every penny if I had to pay for it. …
Excellent story line.
Great read, great setting (Ireland), great history! Loved it!

Based on true events and people involved in the Irish independence movement just after the American Revolution.
Great book about the history of Ireland.
A story that tells about the freedom needed in Ireland by certain patriots. The story grabs from the start and at the end we discover what happened to the true characters of this story. This pulled on my heart.

It is a great reminder that all ethnic groups have been oppressed at one time or another.
These people could have been my ancestors. I loved the way all of the secrets tied together as in a tapestry of generations. looking forward to more from this author.
What a fabulous book. Difficult to read because I knew how it would turn out. Makes you think
Wonderfully researched. Great combinations of human emotions skillfully written to awaken your awareness of the world and people in it. The love scenes were beauty not trash. This book vividly shows the lengths one will go to for life liberty and the pursuit of happiness. FREEDOM. I love all her books, she is a master of words. Thank you
It was an epic novel with depth and passion in the characters who were fighting for freedom and rights in Ireland.
This is a well written book. It is one that makes you happy, sad, angry, and rooting for the “good guys”. It is one that I enjoy most__based on real people and events. I was glad to see an “afterword”, telling what happened to the survivors. Good read.
I really enjoyed this book!
Too many characters and similar names. It was all very confusing.
Very well researched. Compelling!
