“A truly incredible historical novel. From the very beginning of Tread Softly on My Dreams by Gretta Curran Browne, I was captivated by the rugged beauty of Ireland’s mountains and its soft lush valleys. The author’s detailed description enhanced the vision for the story, while each new character increased the intrigue. Every path provided clarity of the situation, both personal and political, showing great determined strength of the human spirit to stand firm in the belief of a free Ireland, even at the expense of their own lives. I cheered the hero and heroines of the story, applauding their successes and shedding tears at the injustices, brutality, and suffering of the people who simply wanted their freedom. The reader’s heart will swell with the love Robert has for Sarah, and the unspoken love Anne has for Robert. A fantastic read from beginning to end.” — READERS’ FAVORITE
Set against the background of the beauty of Ireland, the dark clouds of its past, as well as the humour and dreams of its people, this is a passionate and powerful true story of three young people, Robert Emmet, Anne Devlin, and Sarah Curran, drawn together in love, in hope, and tragedy.

wow!!! not my normal reading material. Difficult at times to read, but with it being based on truth, I kept reading. Looked up some of the names on the internet and this is written quite well. Took me a lot longer to read than my silly romance books, but worth the time.
The worst, and I mean the very worst, editing I have ever seen in an e-book. Loved the story, hated the extra words, missing words, wrong words and wrong tense. Made me almost quit reading it. Some very lazy writers out there.
Great story about Robert Emmet
I love books that are about real history
This is about actual characters and the History of Ireland.
Valuable
very interesting and entertaining, loved it.
Great way to learn about Robert Emmett and his role in the Irish search for freedom.
My Irish heritage has never been so well explained. The information that is rapped around the well written story will at times make you stop and think about what you just read.
A part of Ireland’s history that I was not aware of. In my history classes no mention was made of the struggle the country went through to win its independence.
A beautiful story….wonderfully written….
This is an historical novel that takes 4 families through the revolution in Ireland. It shows the thoughts, trials and hardships of the Irish with the British harshness during the time that the Irish wanted to have their own leaders. Good research of the times and the characters were believable for the times their lived in.
I enjoyed the book …
Enlightening about the history of Ireland as well as entertaining.
This book made me want to learn more about the period in history that it covered as well as to learn more about Robert Emmett. It also made me understand why so many older Irishmen and women have a strong dislike of the British.
I strongly recommend this book.
eye opening regarding the history of Ireland and their struggle for independence.
All of this author’s books are good.
This was an excellent historical novel!
Beautifully written and very touching.
Excellent writing making history come alive. Strong heroic characters fighting for their dreams and ideals.
This book is fantastic. The story of Ireland’s fight for independence. It follows the life of Robert Emmet and his fight for freedom. Me. Brown’s books are great. I have read them all.
