This is why I gave this book a 5-Star Darya and Araceli are my two favorite characters they wanted to be appreciated for helping Lord of Normadia. And finding love that will cost them their lives.
Such a wonderful book! I really enjoyed the main characters and found the world and story itself to be fully fleshed out and almost real. Full of action, adventure, intrigue and light and dark magic I highly recommend this book. I’m really glad I got a chance to read this book because its one of my favorites this year. I can’t wait for the next book!
Treachery of Water is the first book in the Lore of Nomadia series.
I voluntarily received and reviewed an advanced copy of this book.
Final Rating: 5 Stars
Wow what a truly magical and enchanting book this is, I loved every minute of it and I don’t know how Ms. Ford managed to weave such an intricate tale about so many diverse characters but she really did a great job of this. I found the characters to be so lovable and love the way their lives are all somehow entwined. The dark magic is rising with Elmira wanting to take control of magic and erasing this from Nomadia whilst raising the dark lord. Many have suffered because of magic apart from herself, but many might suffer more where she to succeed. Nomadia is a land of many races and cultures living together but not all were equal, some were sold as slaves, some abused by wizards and some like our blue faun were treated as the lowest of the low. Political intrigue abounds both on land and in the sea realm and our characters are pawns in the game, but change was coming! Whether this be for the good or bad is still to be seen, but the child of prophecy whose tears turn to gold has risen and she did this with a vengeance. I love Darya, the water nymph and Aracelli, the blue faun and Nurimil, a human as well as the Jinn and would love to read further into their adventures as I am sure this series is going to end up being one of a fight between light and dark magic and I really enjoy such magical fantasy tales.
Did I pick this one up because it was an epic fantasy written by a Black author? 100% yes. Did I pick up this book because of mermaids, sirens, and nymphs? Also, yes.
Treachery of Water is told from multiple POVs. We have: sea nymph that is destined to prove her worth, a blue faun who is determined to rise above her enslavement, a reclusive bounty hunter that is immune to magic, and an evil sorceress who is hellbent on revenge.
All of the characters are unique and fully developed. The world building and lore is incredible. Oh, and did I mention that there’s a library that houses magical tomes?
If you’re looking for your next immersive fantasy filled magic, lore, and political intrigue then definitely pick this one up!
Oh, and after that cliffhanger…I’ll be picking up book two. I can’t wait to see what happens next to my beloved characters.
An absolutely unique and wonderful story. The only thing I disliked about it is that I must wait for the next book to be released! Great characters and world building….
