Senior year was not going how I planned. It was supposed to be an amazing year—the perfect year. And it started out that way… until my mom remarried, and I found myself in a new town, at a new school, and living with quite possibly the most conniving person I had ever met.But my horrible stepbrother wasn’t even the worst part.It was his best friend.Zayden Michaels.Gorgeous. Unpredictable. … friend.
Zayden Michaels.
Gorgeous. Unpredictable. Treacherous.
The kind of guy who sends most sane people running in the opposite direction.
He hated me from the first moment he saw me.
He made it his mission to make sure I knew it too.
I became the target—the bullied.
Until suddenly I wasn’t anymore.
But in a world of rumors, games, and deceit, you never really know who you can trust.
Sometimes the best deceptions are the ones you never see coming.

Treacherous is a high school bully read, written by two of my favorite authors. I thought the story flowed effortlessly. I could picture the scenes in your head, like watching a movie. This story has a hostile new stepbrother, and his fellow friends, bullying, mean girls, high school drama, best friend who has your back, and a girl who’s just trying to fit in, and get through her final year of high school. Rylee is such a strong character, and I liked that she didn’t back down, she stood her ground. Her new stepbrother Oliver needed a can of whoop a$$. I was undecided about his best friend Zayden but he redeem himself, and I liked seeing the changes of his character. I’m hoping that we’ll get more stories from these two authors.
This was one amazing book put together by two talented authors!!
Rylee and Zyaden were everything
From page one you get it all in this book! Rylee showed us strength in so many situations that people fall. What she went thru was at the hands of selfish people was horrible, yet she rose above it all and held her head up high With Zayden in her corner wow
Zayden was such a great person inside and out once you get to know the real Zayden you cany help but love this alpha to the end!
From page one this was amazing I was sad it didnt keep going!! I hope we get to hear from some of the other characters one in particular
One click this epic book you will not be disappointed!!
Such a great read!!! This is what you get when two amazing authors come together and write. I love both Alex and Melissa and they are my absolute one-click authors. So getting this book written from both was such a great treat for sure and I am hoping for more books written together by them both in my future.
Zayden and Rylee’s story had me completely hooked from the very first page. I loved seeing their story come to life as I turned each page. This enemies to lovers/bully romance had everything that kept me turning the pages. The secrets, lies, drama, and the hotness made the story highly addictive.
This was a different young enemies to lovers/bully romance which made it such a fantastic unpredictable read. I really enjoyed this one, but I probably always say that about both these authors. lol.
Happy Reading Everyone!!!
HS Bully Romances aren’t usually a genre that I gravitate to. However, I wanted to give this one a try as it was one of Alex Grayson’s stories, cowritten with Melissa Toppen.
It was virtually impossible to not love these characters. Zayden has so many layers that just when you think you have him pegged as a jerk, he surprises you. I also found Rylee’s big heart admirable. When she would have had every reason to walk away…she always showed herself to be an amazing human being. And she wasn’t a weak girl either, she was strong and didn’t really put up with a lot of crap, which made me love her character so much!
Obviously this story has a strong romantic story line. Zayden is very much an alpha male in every way, much as you would expect him to be. Absolutely loved his protective nature!
I am curious if we will see any of the secondary characters in this story get their own happily ever after. Wouldn’t mind seeing Oliver knocked down a peg or two!
Overall I really loved this book. Read it from start to finish in one sitting. Looking forward to more from Alex Grayson and have Melissa Toppen book marked to check out her work.
Treacherous gets 5 stars from me!
This was a great read. Zayden and Rylee were great characters to get lost in. Their relationship has some of the wildest swings that kept me attention. I devoured this book in one sitting. It was an excellent read.
An interesting story.
There are many twists and turns.
The story is well written and very enjoyable.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Senior year is not turning out like Rylee wanted it to be. Attending a new school she has made enemies even before she walked through the door and they won’t make her life easy.
Between the hate, the deceit, the lies, the rumors and antics of the bullies this book kept you turning the pages. Zayden will have you hating him at first but then he will win your heart. If you are worried about reading a book with characters in high school don’t be, you will hate some characters and some you will love. There is never ending twists and turns.
Both of the authors wrote this book seamlessly. You never suspect there are two authors because it flows well.
I was positively surprised by this book. When I got him to read, I was afraid that these are teenage characters and it is a theme that although very present is also a cliche theme. But then I started the story and found myself captivated by this story from the first pages.
I think the character in the book for me was Rylee without a doubt. She was very mature for her age, strong and courageous and despite all the bully who suffered here never let her fear speak louder.Zayden is a character I started not liking very much, I thought he would be more of an asshole character, but with each page I read he turned out to be someone totally different. He is someone loving and protective with those he likes. And the chemistry between these two was explosive, I enjoyed watching the relationship unfold between them.
This book brought me characters who won my heart and I others who just loved to hate. A well written story and my only caveat was that the ending could be a little more worked, I found it a little run.Treacherus was a pleasant surprise and left me wanting Charlie and even Oliver’s book in the future.
A very enjoyable and entertaining book. This book dived into a lot of topics that high school kids have to struggle through, like bullying, divorce, blending families, sick family members, moving, changing schools and most of all relationships. Alex Grayson and Melissa Toppen do a beautiful job of telling the story of how Rylee, Zayden and Oliver handle these major changes in their life. It’s a book worth reading and you will not want to put down. These two authors do a wonderful job with this story!
Great enemies to lovers story. I loved that Zayden didn’t even realize he was falling for Rylee until it was too late. They could not fight the spark between them even though they tried their hardest. Definitely recommend this book!!
This book astounded me. I am not usually a big fan of bullying stories but love enemies to lovers. This story was superbly written by two authors and told a tale that makes me never want to return to high school, not matter the outcome. Rylee and Zayden can’t fight their attraction but will nasty tricks and hatred keep them apart? Definitely one story you need to read for yourself to find out what happens and if people can redeem themselves.
This was such a pleasure to read! Rylee’s mom gets married and she is forced to change schools for her senior year. Enter her new step brother Oliver and his best friend Zayden. Oliver hates her and makes her life miserable. Zayden, the big man on campus, treats her badly also. They turn the school against her by some vicious bullying. Slowly, Zayden realizes that the bullying has gone too far. He and Rylee’s relationship starts to evolve. I wasn’t sure if I could forgive Zayden and friends for the horrible things they did but he changed my mind with each page. Rylee was such a strong person. She was a fantastic character. I hope that the secondary characters get their story also.
Thank you for the privilege of reading this book! Well done
Alex Grayson is one of my one-click authors. I typically don’t read high school romances, but I had to give this one a shot. The characters are very well written, readers will get to know them well. The relationship between Rylee and Zayden, while rocky at first, ended up being very sweet. Her stepbrother, Oliver was just awful, and while I appreciated his attempts at redemption, I’m not impressed. Rylee was a champ throughout. Most people couldn’t handle the torture she endured at school. For me, personally, I didn’t love the book, but it was only because of the YA setting. I struggled in high school and I think I reflect that into what in reading. However, I can’t knock a book based on genre. I’ve never read Melissa Toppen, but I’ll definitely put her on my TBR. I enjoy reading books where I feel like I know the characters, and the dialogue is expressive of their personalities. The story flowed nicely and I was so glad for the HEA. I would recommend this book, especially if you like high school/bully romances.
Wow! What a great read! What started out as an almost atypical teenage romance grew to something that was unexpected. Loved the chemistry between zayden and rylee. The secondary characters brought so much more depth to the characters too! Great job and hoping to see more…perhaps a love for Oliver?…
This was a really good, well written enemies to lovers, bully type romance. Rylee has just moved to a new school because her mother remarried. Her new step brother, Oliver, makes her life hell by telling everyone to be mean to her or else. His best friend Zayden starts off by being mean to her, but when he thinks things go too far he changes his tune. I hated how Oliver and several others treated Rylee, but I loved how well she took it. She was definitely a strong young woman. I loved Zayden after he had a change of heart. He was really sweet and protective of Rylee. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and will be recommending it to all my reading buddies.
Bully romances generally aren’t my thing. Enemies to Lovers YES, but not bully. BUT. I. COULDN’T. PUT. THIS. DOWN.
It is a quick read, nothing to surprising. Maybe a little trigger warning, but I’m not into those either. I like not knowing but I get why they are sometimes needed.
Zayden is a new name for me and I just couldn’t picture him with that name. Not sure why, but I’m not a fan and I NEVER complain about names.
While she was described as strong, I really didn’t get that whole vibe. I also don’t think I’d enjoy a Savannah/Owen book. Now give me a Charlie book YES PLEASE!
So much to say
Treacherous tapped into all my emotions
From the angst of humiliation too that weightless feeling that comes from first love
This started out pretty much as the norm for a bully romance.
Parent remarries. Two households combine. New school. New friends. New step-sibling.
And then the story took flight from the pack.
Nothing was the norm.
The characters clicked.
The drama resonated.
I was a goner.
Rylee. She was a sight to behold. She wasn’t self-absorbed or over the top and she stood her ground, she took some blows but she got back up and she moved forward.
Oliver – the new step-sibling and a straight-up spoiled little chit. Oliver had no idea what boundaries where. Petulant little thing he was.
Zayden – Intelligent. Honorable. Marshmallow inside with a Bad Boy coating. (yum)
Charles – The new BFF. I am so hoping he gets a story.
She – who I shalt not name. I really really disliked her, firmly believe she needs mental help (I am sure you will agree when you get to it).
Rylee knew she just had to get through the next few months and she would be off to college. She kept that mantra in her head each time they took a turn at knocking her down. She had the biggest heart.
Zayden had so much going on outside of the school halls. He had his own demons to deal with but he knew when lines were crossed and he was man enough to admit it. Oliver was the broken one IMO. He was hurt/angry and Rylee was right she was the only available target for his pain.
This flowed so easily. The characters were not over the top. The drama was something that I could envision. I easily connected to Rylee. The chemistry between her and Z. Nuclear.
I enjoyed the multiple POV.
If you are looking for a bully romance that will drag you into the drama and keep you engaged –
Look no further
Treacherous provided all the feels.
Wow! I went into this story blind. Not knowing what to expect or what was going to happen. I hadn’t even read the blurb in my rush to read. It was SO GOOD! I flew through in one sitting.
This book had all the feels and left me begging for another co written book by these two authors. I always enjoy a good enemies to lovers romance, and this one was awesome.
Wow what an amazing 6 star story this was. I devoured it in a matter or few short hours and then I wanted more. A great combination of 2 amazing authors.
Rylee start a new school, new town, new step family. Her step brother hates her for unknown reasons. That doesn’t explain why his best friend does too. Zayden is not who he seems to be from the exterior. His feels a lot and is going through so much. In Rylee, he will find his soulmate.
This was an highly addicting and captivating story. A solid page turner. Gosh, it remains me why I hated high school with a passion. It was well written with characters that were well developed. The characters were in their late teens but were mature. A storyline that kept getting thicker and thicker. It’s entertaining and full of surprises. Bottomline this is a must read.
Standalone told in a dual POV with an HEA. I strongly recommend this story.
One of my many favorite authors, by far!!
Rylee unexpectedly moves in with her stepbrother, Oliver. He’s an a** to her and quickly his pranks turn cruel.
Hayden is the hot bad boy in school who also happens to be Oliver’s best friend and an accomplice in torturing Rylee. That is until he starts to realize he needs her and is falling for her.
One night changes everything. Bonds are tested, trust is broken, people are betrayed.
I loved this story line!
