I not sure what to say about this one another than if there had been a whole lot of communication with the children of the parties involved this whole situation with a love and hate situation could have been avoidable to some extent if not completely.
I have to say the story itself made you uneasy due to the content but, the Rylee being on the receiving end was not some milk stop and although what happen to her was bothering her and effecting her emotional the bullies in turn would not be breaking her.We love Rylee she was a strong individual who fought back with her mind and her words and we loved that about her. What happens though when you attracted to one of those bullies and he makes you sizzle knowing he is all wrong for you “yet”, your drawn to him anyway? No matter what was happening between her and Zane Michael’s the sexual tension was always there and off the charts.
Zane was a character you love to hate but, end up loving in the end.We saw Zane grow up right before our eyes so to speak as he was trying to make amends for the pain and emotional stress he has caused to the girl he was falling for.
Overall the story was intriguing and filled with love hate, betrayals ,jealousies and shows you just how a callous women scorned could cause so you much damage to the parties involved. This is one tale where things could have gone in a whole another direction by one spiteful and revengeful deed. The chemistry between Rylee and Zane was clearly evident even when they had the love hate thing going on but, loving a good women can change a man and we loved seeing Zane go though those changes as it was like he was growing up right before our eyes. The tale had enough intrigue and a interesting cast of characters to draw you right in and kept you turning the pages to the very end.One thing for sure is that Zane Michael’s was one hot sexy Alpha !
I thoroughly enjoyed this Bully Romance with a twist! Treacherous is a quick, entertaining read with just enough drama to have you turning pages to see what happens next. And while I loved most of the characters, there are a few that made me want to throw my Kindle, but that is part of what makes it a great book. As always, Alex Grayson delivers a fantastic read and I’ve discovered a great new to me author in co-writer, Melissa Toppin. 4 Fabulous Stars!
I always enjoy diving into angsty reads but throw in a bit of new adult drama with all the feels like Treacherous did and I know I’m in for a great and engaging read. I loved the simmering attraction that grew between Rylee and Zayden even when I wanted to smack Zayden repeatedly a few times along the way. The dual point of views conveyed both Rylee and Zayden’s emotions so well they made me feel even more invested in their story. There’s nothing I enjoy more than an emotionally fueled book and characters that keep me riveted like this amazing group of characters did. I’m truly hoping that this duo of authors give us readers some of the secondary characters stories soon as well because I need more. Treacherous was a captivating lovers to enemy with a touch of bully romance that made for a terrific read.
Teenage drama romance are not usually my cup of tea but Rylee and Zayden stoke a piece of my heart.
Rylee has thee worst senior facing a new family, new school and the typical teenage jerks.
Zayden has ruled the school since day one then comes Rylee upsetting his palace and everyday existence.
Treacherous was not your typical Melissa Toppen read but it was a easy enjoyable book.
Intense, drama and angst filled fully romance.
Well written, the story flowed well and kept me entertained although it was somewhat predictable.
3.5 stars!
amazing 5 star read, First NA book i have read by Alex Grayson and yet again it did not disappoint. Always love Alex Grayson’s writing style and she is an automatic one click author for me.
For anyone looking for enemies to lovers this is a MUST READ. I almost wish this wasnt a standalone as I would love to read more written by Alex Grayson and Melissa Toppen
A novel on high school bully romance? Yes please, sign me up! Even better yet .. a collaboration between Alex Grayson and Melissa Toppen? Aso-freakin-lutely!
Treacherous begins with a girl (Rylee) and an evil step-brother (Oliver) who is out to get her and make her life miserable. Mix in Oliver’s friends and cronies and you have a life filled with disaster and heartache. When things get too out of hand, his best friend and comrade, Zayden, has to make a decision of what’s right by protecting Rylee or sticking by his best friend since childhood. Either way, there is a betrayal to one or the other. Zayden knows what he should do, but can he make the right decision? Where will his heart lead him and can the one he betrays forgive him?
This is one of the best high school bully romances that I have read to date. I can’t tell where Alex’s writing stops and Melissa’s begins. The flow is flawless and unpredictable. I can only hope that this duo creates another masterpiece soon.
Treacherous is the latest standalone romance by Alex Grayson and Melissa Toppen. This novel incorporated bully, stepbrother’s best friend and enemies-to-lovers tropes into one story that will hold your interest from beginning to end. It will evoke so many emotion from you as the story progresses. There was angst, scheming and romance. I liked characters. Rylee’s strength made me love her throughout the story. It took me a while to warm up to Zayden but I ended up really liking him. The story was fast paced and interesting and I enjoyed it. I would recommend this novel to all lovers of YA romances.
This book has it all gut wrenching stop plot great connection between the characters this is a bully romance written well. Rylee is a girl who is about to go through vary of trials that will not be easy. Zayden is part of the bulling that Rylee goes through. His character is so complex and I really enjoyed the twist and turns in this book.
A new home, a new school and a new step brother!
Then she meets his best friend. The gorgeous ice cold untouchable bad boy.
She knew it wouldn’t be a smooth transition, from the past to her new future, but by gosh did she underestimate how it would all go.
Oh wowsers!!!! I loved everything about this book from the first page to the last and each and every single one inbetween.
From the fiery passion, to the continuous torture my heart beat wildly and I hummed away contentedly.
The whiplash love and hate, protect and bully moments were edge of your seat, will they wont they moments.
Put it all together and it’s simply the best kind of torture.
The tension and drama had me glued to my seat, secretly rooting for them.
She’s not one to shy away from a fight, and she’s most definetly not a doormat.
He’s feared yet admired at the same time. He’s the one who will make or break you.
Two amazing characters, one story and I was lost to the here and now. I didnt mind. Not one bit!
5 perfect stars!! This book is so damn good.
So I just started liking “bully” romance. I always liked the bad boys so I was destined to become a bully lover. Omg this book is so yummy!!
Zayden is so deliciously bad. He is everything you want in a bad boy. When he yelled at her over the solo cup I was his. I knew he would be perfection. Zayden and Rylee are perfect together.
Oliver is a Bastard. Tiffany is a slut. Pierce is fantabulous!! But we need a little of them all to make the book go. This crew of characters was on point. It never once felt as though two authors wrote this story.
I want to add that I especially loved the ending. Most authors get you to a good spot and then end it but this had a little more. I enjoyed it very much.
If life didn’t up and mess up my ability to sit and read this definitely would have been read in one sitting. It is so good!!
**I read this book as an ARC and in return gave my honest review**
What a great story by Alex Grayson and Melissa Topped, 2 amazing authors. A rollercoaster ride you don’t want to miss. Rylee is so excited for her final year of high school until her mother gets married and they move in with her new step-dad and horrible step brother, Oliver. Oliver makes Rylee’s time a living hell and his hot best friend, Zayden helps him with the bullying. Zayden is someone you love to hate. He is devoted to his best friend but has a hard time denying feeling a he is having toward a Rylee. This was such a great story, amazing writing.
Good bully romance, with some sweet & sexy moments, and (of course) a whole lot of drama!
—>>> Welcome to Parkview High ???…Not only is Rylee just within a few months of completing her senior year of high school, she will have to do so at a whole other school, and frankly, it is not going to be the easiest nor best year as forecasted. Not if her stepbrother Oliver and his best friend Zander are going to have anything to do with it. The situation is barely tolerable at Rylee’s new home, though, thankfully her stepfather is nice. Now things are miserable at school, ever since Oliver has stepped up and involved other students, putting the target squarely on her back and making it harder and harder for her to hold her chin up high. But Zander just cannot seem to leave her alone, which is too bad, really, considering he is the hottest guy at school. Only he seems really to care, and only when he opens up, does Rylee really see him. Oliver, though, is still another story. Good bully romance, with some sweet & sexy moments, and (of course) a whole lot of drama!
I went into this book blind, so I had no idea what I was getting into. To be honest, it made me cringe. This definitely isn’t my favorite trope. It didn’t necessarily trigger me, but I was uncomfortable reading. I guess I’m more light than dark. I kept reading hoping there would be an HEA…a light at the end of the tunnel. Even though it was fiction, I was surprised to see what others would do because of jealousy, spite, or just retaliation. I’m glad the authors made Rylee strong, and I’m glad she had Pierce by her side. The story provides good lessons that we all can take away from.

WOW, what a surprising story!! Treacherous by Alex Grayson and Melissa Toppe was nothing like I expected and everything that I absolutely enjoyed. This section from the synopsis comes close but doesn’t fully do this book justice:
But in a world of rumors, games, and deceit, you never really know who you can trust.
Sometimes the best deceptions are the ones you never see coming.
Rylee is enjoying and living up her Senior year of high school. That is until her mother elopes and moves Rylee to a new school with a Stepbrother from hell. She tries not to make waves but still ends up being bullied by someone she has to live with. This makes her transition into a new school anything but smooth.. Especially when her new stepbrother is one of the kings of the school. When the KING of the school so happens to be her stepbrother’s best friend, Zayden, things go from bad to worst.
This is a must-read. There is so much to this story that I am afraid of giving anything away. Grayson and Toppe’s collaboration is spot on. Their writing is smooth and detailed and grabs your attention while leaving you wanting to more.
I just loved treacherous! I love alex grayson’s books and what a nice twist to add in Melissa Toppen. I will have to go read some of her books now.
This isnt your typical bully story either. Rylee and Zayden are different from what I’ve read in bully reads before. Rylee is much stronger then you expect. Most stories have the heroine as a weak character and the authors definitely gave her a strong back bone.
I love the heat and chemistry between the two and hope alex and Melissa continue with a series.
Please one click because you won’t be disappointed and will be flipping pages faster then you think!
YA/NA isn’t a genre I read a lot of but this one I really enjoyed. I was a bit sceptical at first with it being a co-write but these 2 authors produced it seamlessly.
Bully Romance seems to be taking the book world by storm at the moment and this dip into that pond hit the ground running. My heart went out to Rylee for all that she went through after moving in the her new family and at a new school during her Senior Year. Oliver I just wanted to punch in front of all his mates. And the man himself, Zayden, he bore the brunt of my temper a few times too. Him I wanted to slap upside the head and tell him to get a mind of his own instead of jumping into Olivers’. Kudos to him though because he found his own brain in the end and saw Rylee in a new light, past everthing that Oliver tarred her with.
Told from a dual POV this emotional story of young love tested by outside forces will have you pulling your hair out and yelling at your kindle. But it will also have you page turinng like mad to see if it ends the way you hope.
I love a good YA teenage angst story added together with Bully High School romance and you’re onto a winner for me. Told from alternative POV’s this co-write worked well; with both authors having a very similar style.
I wanted to do physically harm to the stepbrother and his friend on more than one occasion. They did redeem themselves (slowly) but not before my heart and emotions had been put through the wringer!
These two authors did an absolutely amazing job on this story and the characters. Once I started I seriously could not put down and had to keep going to see what was going to come next with these two. So, so good and you really will just love everything about it.
This was definitely unexpected from my usual Melissa Toppen book. I was actually fortunate enough to meet Alex Grayson recently so when I saw the two names together, I knew I was in for a treat.
High school bully/enemies to lovers, we already know how this will play out. What we aren’t expecting is the depth of the characters involved.
We have the entitled pretty boy; the broody, popular boy with a chip on his shoulder; and the new girl. What we discover is that everyone has their own motive for their actions, even if it is just to make it through the year.
So many topics were touched on in this book. It reminded me of real struggles one might be facing everyday that we don’t even see. It also reminded me of how harsh high school can be. Our new girl is no pushover, but sometimes the bullies are bigger.
I loved Rylee’s and Zayne’s story and hope Toppen and Grayson go forward in this world.
