Even for a teens book, this was a little disappointing. The plot is meandering, the writing clumsy, and the science is pure bluff. However, the story of Kevin comes out and catches the reader despite the flaws. It’s hard to resist a dying child. A discerning reader will not enjoy this book much, but it may find its niche in the kid’s section.
About teenagers for teenagers, the plot is completely off the wall about an alien invasion. Could have been more interesting with a better invasion attack
I don’t think this book was categorized as young adult…but it certainly could be.
This is a great book and I recommend you read it as long as you understand it is book 1 of a series and the ending will be unsatisfactory.
Didn’t want to put it down. Nice cliffhanger at the end. I’ll definitely be looking at the next book in the series.
A great YA adventure that starts off in one direction, then takes a left turn – leaving you waiting for more! Very fun read.
excellent, would definitely read more by this author
I could foresee the story as I was reading it, but I have a very vivid imagination.
Excellent book. Couldn’t put it down.
Really enjoyed this book and can see how it sets up the series. Wasn’t sure where it was going a few times and enjoyed the suspense. A few times the 13 year old main character got away with more than I think he should have been allowed to, but still enjoyed the story. I knew nothing about the series which then gave me no preconceived notions as to how this book would end. This kept me guessing until the end.
Very interesting sci-fi story. This is the first book in a series of 3
I found myself trying to decide what I would do in each of the situations the hero of the story finds himself in and glad I don’t have to actually make that call.
I liked the fact our hero is one of the “reluctant” kinds of hero, he would rather it not be him but there’s no one else that can do what needs to be done.
No ending. You must buy the rest of the trilogy for resolution. I think that is sneaky and didn’t expect it from Morgan Rice. I’ve been sucked into that ONCE. Never again.
Great YA read. First book in a series, 2nd book not out until mid-August
