An Enthralling Crime Drama
This is great storytelling, where things are not always, what they appear to be. The backdrop begins in Chicago, where the mysterious and defiant Cameron Stone is on bad terms with her family, introducing you to many persuasive and interesting characters, fantastic dialogue, and explanatory scenes. Through flashbacks, we begin to see how Cameron, and her partners in crime, become the focus in this action-packed narrative, which exposes some illegal activities, shocking twists and turns, secrets and lies, family drama, sibling contention, un-requited love, and murder. Loaded with high-tech devices, doubts, pretense, deceit, and betrayal, this suspenseful story will keep you guessing from start to finish, slowly building up to an ending, reminding us that our actions have consequences. What I liked about this story is that Cameron Stone creates her own rules; she is a strong, go-getting woman and a loyal friend to the end, which can make her an antagonist, a protagonist, or maybe both. She can take down any man with her eyes closed and her hands behind her back. You will enjoy reading this story.
This is the second book that I’ve read by Karen and just like the 2nd book this one is filled mystery, drama, suspense and romance. The characters are awesome, great word building, easy read, fast paced, secrets, page turner and all in all a fantastic read.
While growing up Cameron is into a lot things that do not sit well with her father.
Cameron is an alpha female who women would love for her to be their friend.
Cameron kicks butts and no one messes with her. Cameron’s boss who is not on the good side of the life has trained her very well. Her boss is now dead and he left behind his millions and a file on Cameron that must stay hidden and Cameron is on the trail to find the file before it gets into the wrong hands.
We get the backdrop on how Cameron and Daron “aka the warden” from another series “The Kings Of Castle” came about.
Cameron out to rescue her cousin from the clutches of the warden; even the warden does a lot of illegal and bad things he does them for the good. He is very inventive and helpful.
This book is good that I recommend it along with reading “The Kings Of The Castle” and “The Knights Of The Castle”. If you’re into action, drama, mystery, suspenseful reader then you will most definitely enjoy this book.
I received an ARC via the author plus I purchased the paper back, and I’m voluntarily leaving my review.
Transition of Power by Karen D. Bradley is a thrilling tale featuring a kick butt female lead. Cameron is smart, talented and determined to protect her brainiac cousin. This is a tale filled with twists and turns all intersecting at Cameron and informing her decisions. I enjoyed this. This is the first I’ve read by this author and think there are some situations in this story that occurred in another book but it doesn’t effect this story negatively.
