Rhydian Griffiths is the leader of Clan Snowridge in the North of Wales. Not only does he lead his clan, but he also takes care of an orphaned boy on his own. The deadline for any remaining family to collect him expires and Rhydian decides to adopt the boy himself. However, hours later, a human female shows up at his clan’s gate, claiming she’s the boy’s aunt. While he’d usually admire her fire … fire and determination, his dragon says he wants the human, but Rhydian must resist. The last thing he needs is a human living on his clan.
Delaney Murphy spent the last three months jumping through hoops to prove she was Rian’s aunt. When she finally finds the blasted Welsh clan hidden in the mountains, she’s told the deadline expired. Even though they try to scare her by tossing her in a prison cell, the action only makes her more determined. After all, Rian is her only family. Provided she can ignore how the serious dragon clan leader looks at her long enough to come up with a plan, she’ll be able to raise her nephew as her own.
As Rhydian tries to ignore the female, a threat reminds him of why any human inside Snowridge could be in danger. He has to work together with Delaney to ensure not only her safety but Rian’s as well. Of course, it might mean giving up the family he’s secretly always wanted but long denied.

This was a great story. I have read some of the other reviews and some were upsetting. I read these stories to be taken away to another place. I realize that people have different views about what they like and don’t like. That being said, to criticize an author because you want everything spelled out for you seems unfair. That is the beauty of reading to let your mind soar.
This story is different from some of the others, but I didn’t mind that. I saw two people who were very aware of what they wanted and complimented each other. Delaney is very strong in her own right and is a great support for Rhydian. Especially as they move forward in building their clan. I also feel that as with the other clans, you learn more about them all as the clan grows. To me that is great, means more fabulous books to come.
It was great to see Kai, I love how you get glimpses of the other clans and the support they are for each other.
Thank you Jessie for another great story. Looking forward to many more.
Brian does an awesome job on the audiobook. Love the accents, they give such a great feel to the story.
A fun story and a fun series.
I just finished this addition to Stonefire Dragon’s Universe and once again Ms. Donovan transports me to a different time and place. I enjoyed the teasing manor that Rhydian and Delaney have with each other along with a demanding dragon and an adorable boy.
You just cannot help but love this story, it captures all that one expects of a well written romance with a touch of fantasy. Strong alpha dragonmen, even stronger sassy women. a well developed plot and a happy ending.
I voluntarily chose to read this story and in no way have I been compensated for this complementary copy. This is my honest unbiased opinion. Maybe you will be taken away with Rhydian and Delaney’s story Like I have been
I love Dragons and Rhydian’s dragon is my favorite shhh don’t tell the others dragons you know how they can get lol
Rhydian Griffith is the head of Snowridge clan. He has been taking care of a little orphan 1/2 human 1/2 dragon boy named Rian Maguire while the Department of Dragon Affairs or DDA finds someone in his family. Since his mom and dad were killed. So far no one has been found and now the time is up. Rhydian and his Dragon have agreed they are going to adopted him. They will be a family.
Delaney Murphy had come to snowridge to collect her nephew past the deadline. The DDA had given her a hard time proving she was related to her nephew. But the paperwork was done now and she was here. Rian was her late sisters only son and the only family she had left in the world. What ever it took she was going to be with him.
So what happened then the Dragon and man come up with a plan to keep them both? Oh you have got to read it . Lots of sparks, one really cute boy, and so much more. I couldn’t put it down and I didn’t want to lol . Don’t miss it.
Voluntarily review a copy and I honestly loved it
Rhydian Griffiths is the Clan Leader of Welsh Snowridge Clan. Snowridge rescued some kidnapped dragon children a few months back. Some of the children were experimented on. It remains to be seen if their inner dragons will be forever silenced. One small boy, a hybrid dragon human, named Rian Maguire, lost both his parents. Rian has been living with Rhydian for the last three months. He has no heir and is not mated. He loves Rian and now wants to adopt him and make him his heir. The deadline for family members to claim Rian is fast approaching.
A human female, named Delaney Murphy, shows up at the gates to Snowridge. She claims she is his aunt and has papers to prove her claim. She is a fiery Irish lass that just retired from professional boxing. Rhydian does not want to let Rian go, he will need guidance for his dragon, and he loves him.
Rhydian’s Clan Snowridge is stagnating. Not much has changed in many years. The Clan needs to infuse their clan with new dragon blood and perhaps human/dragon mating or Snowridge will slowly die. Rhydian wants to change Snowridge. Maybe convincing Delaney to stay and raise Rian together might be a start to slowly change Snowridge.
There are clan members that no do want change. While they might tolerate a human/dragon hybrid child, a full human might not be welcome. Change comes slowly but Rhydian and Rian need Delaney.
Can Rhydian convince Delaney to stay and both care for Rian? The Clans are coming together to sort out some Dragon Hunters. Will Delaney and Rian remain safely at Snowridge?
I really liked the characters in this book. Rhydian and his dragon are funny in their conversations with each other. Delaney is a strong woman with a fierce family connection to her sister’s son. Rian is an adorable boy. These dragon books just drag you right into their lives and they seem so real. I look forward to more Snowridge and to see where Rhydian takes them into the modern world.
A young half-dragon orphaned boy became a son in Rhydian’s, the clan leader’s, mind and heart. He’d been rescued from the dragon hunters, but his parents had not. No relatives came to claim him in the time frame allowed so adopting him was Rhydian’s option. A day later his aunt showed up. A human, feisty and demanding he gives up her nephew.
Not gonna happen, however, there may be another way. It didn’t take long for his instant attraction to encourage her own interest in him. However, would the clan let her stay to be with the boy?
There are restrictions for her taking the boy or staying, I really bonded with all of the new characters, or fairly new, as well as the visiting old friends. I loved this clan wanting to encourage the banding together with the other clans to fight their enemies and share their knowledge and talents. The story was touching beginning with the love of a child.
Delaney is such an independent woman yet wise and strong enough to deal with the dragons and half-dragons. Still, she was real in her need for human friendships. As a clan leader, he had devoted all his time to the clan. Now he wanted more. A family. I enjoyed watching him deal with the possible outside enemies as well as those inside the clan, a strong man yet tender when possible. Loved this couple and their story.
I received an ARC for an honest review.
It comes down to family, whether the ones we are born with or the ones we choose. Accepting the responsibility for a young child, one not of your blood takes courage. Courage comes in the form of a feisty human woman, who comes to claim the young child of her blood. Rhydian and Delaney come together to protect Rian. We get some of the characters from other stories, one of my favorites, Kai shows up since this is the clan where is Mother and Sister are. Clan, the clan is family and we see that in the end, family means most of all. Pick it up, read a while, enjoy the tale, you do not need to have read any of the other stories in order to read this one.
I absolutely loved this book!!! Rhydian’s dragon was hilarious and Delaney was the epitome of what a female heroine is supposed to be. Add in the action, intrigue, suspense, and of course steamy romance to keep you hook from beginning to end and you have a helluva of read. So looking forward to seeing what else is in store for this series. I voluntarily read and review this ARC no monetary compensation was received the opinions I have expressed are my own.
