This was the second book in The Retrieval Duet.
Transfer was just as amazing as the first book. The series was great and all of the characters were present in both books! I didn’t want it to be over!
Clare is finally free from her husband, saved by Luke who she knew from the gym but is really Heath who was undercover.
Heath had to get Clare and her daughter free to take down Walt. One thing he knows is that he will do anything to keep them safe now and that Clare is now his. Heath risks being taken off the case due to his connection with Clare, but he assures his bosses that he will remain professional, which isn’t easy with Clare.
Roman and Elisabeth are in the book, although the focus is on Clare, Heath and Tessa. All of them trying to make sense of what happened all those years ago, staying safe from Walt and how they moved forward.
Omg, I’m so so so in love with Heath right now!!
Roman just stole my heart in Retrieval and now I find enough space in my heart for Heath too..(Alth, Roman still is number 1..shhh)
The story now focuses on Claire, the survivor and Heath/Luke her saviour
I think it’s one of THE BEST DUET I’ve read..EVER!!
So much stuff happens, fast paced, action oriented but still takes time to stop and let romance flourish in the violent climate.
I wish the climax scene had been a little more elaborate in details, like I needed to *grinds teeth* finish the villain myself, torture a bit more, crush his bones, ribbon his flesh…*pant**pant*
But all well that ends well
The narrators are awesome!!!
The only peeve to audio books is i cant highlight lines and paste them here, but I save time and the throaty voices of male narrators gets me moist

Transfer was the continuation of the The Retrieval Duet series by Aly Martinez. The book cannot be read as a stand-alone.
Transfer picked up exactly where the first book left off. So as not to provide any spoilers from the first book, the review will be somewhat vague on details. Both books are concluding the stories for Roman/Elisabeth and Clare/Walter; however, the primary and secondary stories have reversed so the main focus will be on Clare’s POV.
I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was well written, well developed, intriguing, suspenseful and emotional. With that said, I enjoyed the first book more and the repetitive (slow) parts could have been eliminated in both books and successfully told within one book. Otherwise, I loved reading the conclusion. Definitely a worthy read.
I’m not sure what took me so long to read this duet but holy wow, I devoured this book! This story had me on the edge of my seat page after page with suspense, intrigue and addiction…….. addiction to this book, the storyline, the characters! Clare and Heath had me smiling, laughing and crying from the struggle and hell they went through to get their HEA. This is a beautiful heart-wrenching story about survival, a second chance at life and love!
Could this book be any more perfect? The storyline was a fast, action-packed thrill ride that had me holding my breath waiting for the other shoe to drop. I loved these characters so much. Roman and Elisabeth were perfect. I loved how they worked out their issues and found their happiness. And Heath and Clare were even more perfect. He was so protective and stood by her side while she found herself and her strength after her abusive past. I loved the way everything was resolved and the glimpse into each of their futures!
Audible version:
Transfer picked up right where Retrieval left off and it did not slow down one bit. Ugly, messy, heartbreaking…and at the end, love. Heath and Clare – I just can’t even with them – their love for each other helped them get through some pretty dark moments. And then there was Roman and Elisabeth who quite possibly had the biggest hearts out of of all of them. Wow, their sacrifice was mind boggling. I’m not sure many other couples could do what they did. I absolutely loved all the characters in this duet and am so glad I pushed play. I will definitely be picking up more of Ms. Martinez’s books – she writes angst on a whole different level.
Narration: I’ve heard Andi Arndt before but Maxine Mitchell and Jason Carpenter were new to me. They did not disappoint. Maxine pulled off exactly how I pictured Clare in my mind to a T. And Jason – wow – he can talk to me anytime! Andi did a bang up job – I even love her male voice – sexy as all get out.
Transfer is the conclusion to Aly Martinez’s The Retrieval Duet. And holy cow, what a conclusion it is! I absolutely fell in love with these characters- all 4 of the main characters~ Roman, Elisabeth, Clare, and Heath! This book focused a little more on Clare and Heath, and how their relationship could possibly bloom when facing Clare’s tyrant of a husband. There was a lot of suspense thoughout, and I couldn’t wait to make sure that everyone got their happily ever after.
This duet is a 5 star read for me!
NO SPOILERS!
Aly Martinez once again blew me away! Transfer was a sexy, suspenseful, and perfect conclusion to The Retrieval Duet, and I absolutely loved it! The storyline and characters were even better this time around, and I loved Aly Martinez’s writing style. She is a brilliant author, and I’m so happy I discovered her books. The Retrieval Duet has been one of my favorite stories EVER, and I can’t wait to devour more from Ms. Martinez!
The storyline was amazing. The author immediately sucked me in to the second part of Roman, Elisabeth, Heath, and Clare’s epic and unforgettable story, and I didn’t want to stop until I reached the end. It was extremely sexy, riveting, suspenseful, and entertaining, and I loved it so much. All of the plot twists and turns had me on the edge of my seat, and the author kept me guessing until the very end. I’m not a huge romantic suspense reader, but Aly Martinez has me addicted to her brand of romantic suspense. She did a fan-freaking-tastic job with The Retrieval Duet, and it was one of the most epic and enthralling stories I’ve ever read.
The characters were exceptional, and I loved them and their story even more in Transfer. Roman, Elisabeth, Heath, and Clare (and several more) were beyond amazing, and I loved them with all of my heart. Dominate alpha heroes with hearts of gold, and sweet yet feisty heroines, there was literally nothing not to love. I felt an incredibly deep connection with all four of the main characters, and I loved reading Transfer from all of their points of view. It was a true pleasure going on this unforgettable journey with them, and it will be ingrained on my soul forever. I’ve never read anything like The Retrieval Duet, and probably won’t ever again. Roman, Elisabeth, Heath, and Clare’s story was by far one of my favorites, and I was ecstatic with the conclusion. Aly Martinez definitely gave me the ending I so desperately wanted for these two couples, and I couldn’t have loved it more.
Transfer was a perfect conclusion to The Retrieval Duet, and I would HIGHLY recommend it and Retrieval! Aly Martinez blew me away with Roman, Elisabeth, Heath, and Clare’s story, and I absolutely loved it with all of my heart and soul. It’s going to be hard to top this duet, and I know I’m going to have the biggest book hangover, but it was oh so worth it. I’m so happy that I found Aly Martinez and her amazing books, and I’m definitely looking forward to devouring more of them!
So I may have jumped the gun previously, in my defense, it’s hard to top Roman. For those poor lost souls that don’t know Roman, stop. Just STOP right here, do not pass go, do not collect $200. You must turned around and one click Retrieval- NOW! Right now, I’ll wait….
Those that have valiantly risked their hearts and spent a great deal of time horny, thanks to Roman, to you I say…Heath. He may not measure the same caliber as Roman, but wow- he’s a keeper!
Darkness can suffocate living creatures. But even the smallest amount of light can give hope and hope is dangerous. Very dangerous in the eyes of an enemy!
I loved conclusion to the duet. Transfer covers all the questions Retrieval left in my mind. it was a perfect closing of this chapter in their lives.
As newly appointed spokesperson for LeBlanc Industries, hold all comments. I just want to announce I am taking both Roman and Heath. They will no longer be available. THEY ARE MINE! Thank you!

*CRIES* …. no more words ( I really did cry when I finished lol)
When I got the email that Transfer had finally been sent to my kindle, I once again dropped everything I was doing and began to read…I don’t know any other words to use but BLOWN AWAY when it comes to this duet series. I have no doubt in my mind that everyone will LOVE Roman & Elisabeth to the point of distraction, but you guuuuuuuys ….Heath is just ALL THE THINGS <3 and Clare and little Tessa will absolutely steal your heart forever. The strength these characters all have and their determination is unparalleled. Aly Martinez wrote some pretty outstanding people here. And she wrote them with purpose and meaning. Every action had an endgame and every reaction had a consequence. The story was incredibly relatable and real and vivid. I felt like I was there. My heart was jack-hammering thru every suspensefully intense moment of Clare and Tessa's survival.
I want to take a few minutes and talk about the style of this story. Or should I say stories. Because there are two distinct stories here yet one cannot be told without the other. I am still blown away at the unfolding of the story. The thread of connection between Heath and Clare and Roman and Tessa was SO well thought out and SO well unfolded that it puts this book in one of my top reads for 2016. I said in my cryptic review (because I didn't want to give anything away) of Retrieval that I was captivated from page one and it still held true thru every page of Transfer. I cannot stress enough what an incredible piece of literary fiction this duet is. It should be experienced by everyone. #TRUST

“You look like a survivor. And the minute you find something ugly in that is the moment we have problems.”
It was impossible to put this book down. I was so engaged and lost in the words. I was at the edge of my seat wanting to get my hands on the monster myself…I felt so many emotions while flipping the pages…at times my own heart was racing. Fear, manipulation, heartache, mental and physical healing, betrayal, hope, devastation, control, love, humor, second chances are just a few of the things you’ll be experiencing along with the characters (they feel real and part of your lives…I won’t say that…I don’t want to sound crazy)!

One of the reasons I picked this up is because it was different Retrieval is about getting his life back, Transfer is about escaping her, what a great concept. It’s hard to find different reads these days and I was drawn to these.
A page-turner, twists and turns, two sexy alpha males, (yes I said two) and their sassy women make it hard to put down.
I absolutely loved this book, it shows the heart of good people. It’s an awesome conclusion to Retrieval.
Yes! What a ride!
I couldn’t click the preorder button fast enought after I finished Retrieval. This girl was hooked! I was chomping at the bit for Transfer to come out. I am so glad we didn’t have to wait long because it was soooooo worth it! The suspense level was at an all time high. Like, a 12 on the suspense scale. It was almost like watching a moive, stuff was going down left and right. Someone pass me the popcorn!
Clare is one hell of a fighter. So much has happened to her that it was great to see how far she has come by the end of the story. I was rooting for her! Heath had the whole sexy alpha thing going on. He was taking the whole “you’re mine” thing to the next level. Yeah, I was totally digging it.
Loving this Duet series so hard right now. So good! I say it’s a for sure must read.
This series is EVERYTHING! If you have not read Transfer (Book 1) then stop right now because as much as I will try to keep this spoiler free, it will ruin the first book for you. So get it and jump on the train to this amazing journey with us.
OK. Here we are again and my emotions are all over the place. I absolutely LOVE this series. Transfer picked up right after Retrieval ended but it focuses on Clare and her story. She is married to a horrific mobster who forces her to endure things that not one person should ever have to endure. Her main goal is safety for herself and those she loves. 10% into the book and I was already posting about how Clare was breaking my heart. I felt so much for her and her situation. Just like with Elisabeth in the last book, I think Clare is one of those characters that many people can relate to. She’s honest and pure and so full of love. All you want is to make sure that she is happy and safe.
I want to continue to keep the reviews for this series vague. There are certain things about this book that would spoil things for the first so please make sure you go into this completely blind. Don’t let anything spoil it for you. Because of this, I can’t really express to you the way that I normally would about the hero. All I can say is that I absolutely love him and he’s perfect for Clare. He really brings out the best of her and he helps her figure out who she really is.
This series is suspenseful, heartbreaking, and hopeful all wrapped up together. If there is one series that you should not miss out on, it is this one. Like I said earlier, it is EVERYTHING! Once again, Aly Martinez delivers an amazing book.
Transfer is a great conclusion to The Retrieval Duet. Right after I finished reading Retrieval, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on Transfer. We start right were we left off and see what happens to Clare. We see her grow so much in this book and I was really proud of the developments she went through. Her love interest was such a great guy and very supportive of Clare. He helped her find herself again and made her realize that she is a strong woman. There is still danger and hurdles to overcome and if you want to see what happens you’ll have to pick up the book! (sorry for the vague review, I don’t want to spoil it!)
The Retrieval Duet is filled with suspense, action and romance. There were a couple of very emotional scenes, which I am used to getting from the author. What I also loved was how Clare and Elisabeth grew closer together as friends and how they understood each other. Especially Elisabeth was very understanding and supportive. I enjoyed the multiple POVs and was glad that Roman and Elisabeth played big roles in this book as well. I especially LOVED the epilogue and it brought a big smile to my face.
11:11, make a wish….
You couldn’t wish for a better way to round out a duet. Romance, captivating, fast-paced and entertaining.
