“In another life, she was my forever.” An unexpected tragedy leaves Professor Nathaniel Hunt a widower alone with a newborn baby. He hires a nanny. She’s young, but well-qualified, with a simple life, a crazy name obsession, and a boyfriend she met at the grocery store. Over time, he discovers she knows things about him—things that happened before she was born—like a hidden scar on his head, his … hidden scar on his head, his favorite pizza, and how he cheated on a high school Spanish test.
She speaks familiar words and shares haunting memories that take him back to over two decades earlier when he lost his best friend in a tragic accident.
“I’m afraid of what’s going to happen when you realize I’m not her.”
Transcend is a sexy, mind-bending journey that uncovers possibilities, challenges beliefs, and begets the age-old question: is there life after death?

Adored this book. The characters stayed with me long after I read the final page. Highly recommend. This duet had my heart in pieces.
I started reading this in her newsletter. I was hooked from the first chapter. I stopped and save them all to read later so I could read the whole story at one time. Omg this story is so awesome! It’s different and unique and completely amazing. I waited for the conclusion to come out so I could read it all together. Eek it’s soooooooo good!
I won this book in a giveaway from the author. She was a new author to me so I was looking forward to trying something new. I didn’t read anything about the book so went in completely blind. Swayze is young just graduated and is trying to get a teaching job. She is dating a hot guy with tats and rides a harley. She met him in the grocery store. Griffen is an amzing guy who obviously is crazy about Swayze. Swayze takes a job as a nanny for Professor Nathanial Hunt’s new born daughter Morgan. Swayze seems to know things about Nate that only his childhood best friend would know and she has been dead for 20 years. This story is about the wierd relationship that develops between Swayze and Nate while she is trying to maintain her relationship with Griffen.
I absolutely fell in love with Griffen right from the beginning and wasn’t sure that I liked Nate at all since he was causing them issues. I liked the author’s style of writing. I laughed and sometimes wanted to knock some sense into the characters. I recommend this book and immediately bought the sequel so I could finish the story.
Whoa….what a conundrum! I would be way more freaked out if this was happening to me. But I guess Swayze is used to it since it’s been happening her whole life. Griffin was amazing. she needs to hold on to him! So glad I waited until both books were out because that ending would have killed me!
Transcend (Transcend #1) is an absolute must read that takes you on a journey of love, loss, and heartbreak. The emotionally raw storyline is an unconventional love triangle between Swayze, Griff, and Nate that will touch your heart, then break it, then put it back together. It’s brilliant!
I reviewed this book with Epoch!!
OMG. This book has killed me. I. So twisted up in knots. The secrets and layers of the story are breath-taking. The characters have atopeny heart. I have no idea how this story is going to play out and that ever happens to me. Usually I have a pretty good idea of how a book is going to end and I have absolutely no idea about this duet. Do yourself a favor and read this right now!
It seems like I’ve declared September to fantasy month
Third book this month and again I’m in the fantasy world or more like mystery paranormal romance world.
I’ve had this book on my kindle for a very long time.
If I knew how incredible good it is, I would probably read it on release day.
Unbelievable gripping and incredible mysterious.
Nothing I’ve read about before.
Do you believe in reincarnation?
That’s the question that haunts the characters in this book.
What would you do if you had memories of events that happened before you were born?
You whole life you have strange memories or knowledge about things that you actually can’t know, but they circles in your head and don’t let you go. You childhood is shaped by all kinds of tests and examinations because of this thoughts.
This is a fascinating story about love, loos and painful memories from the past, but also about the burden of someone else unwanted memories.
I read this book in one go. I couldn’t stop if my life depends on it
I’m currently reading the second book in the series because yes, this book ends with a cliffhanger.
Just when you think Jewel E Ann can’t get any better in her writing she proves you wrong. This thought provoking book had me thinking and questioning all that I believed and all that I didn’t know about the world and my place in it. It also evoked such emotion of pain and longing in an empathetic way.
Our heroine Swayze has been able to peek inside the lives of people since she was a child not understanding the connection and memories she was experiencing until one day she is confronted with some of the biggest memories of all – her own. Or is it. Ugh I can’t give away spoilers so it ties my hands to say too much. Suffice it to say this book tug at the heart strings, makes you think about life in a existential way and also makes you feel all the feels! But you also experience the turmoil of a woman who is trying to figure out her place in the world and the lives of people. She is willing to put herself at risk on a quest for answers about her connections to people past and present.
This is such an emotional story with complications of love, lust and tragedy to pull you in so many directions. You root for Swayze to find the answers and for the memories to lead to love, justice and peace for all they touch. But there are so many barriers in the way you don’t know what is going to happen next.
Book 2 Epoch gives us the answers to all of the books questions except the ones that we have to seek for ourselves our own connections through time.
I cannot find the words to describe how I feel about what I have just finished reading!! This book has taken my breath away…and it’s book 1!
Not surprisingly, the way Jewel E Ann has woven the beginning of this intricate and intriguing story has me spellbound. Utterly fantastic story of Swayze, Grocery store guy, whom I love, and Nate. Can’t wait to see where this goes in Epoch! I won’t spoil by giving anything away because you Must JUST READ IT!!!!
This book was breathtakingly beautiful. It was full of palpable raw feelings. I finished this book in one day as it consumed my life. The whole concept of this book? Absolutely fascinating! I’ve been wanting to read a book by Jewel E. Ann for a long time and I’m so glad I did. I’m completely captivated by her prose. I’m devoted to this book. It was full of angst, witty banter, and a little bit of a mystery. I know I say this a lot about my book boyfriends but I honestly think Griff wins the prize. I wish I had a Griff in my life. He’s assertive, generous, loving, sexy, and somehow knows the right thing to say in most instances. Then, you have the mystery of Nate. Jewel E. Ann did such a wonderful job creating the strong connection that she has with both of them. I will say, this isn’t exactly a love triangle story. It definitely has a twist thrown in – there is no cheating involved this book. So, if that is a hard limit when reading a book, do not fear. This book was just hands down a book I won’t be forgetting for a long time!

Interesting concept. Book #1 of 2. Will need to read Epoch for the rest of the story.
Well edited.
Swayze has always known more. And because of it, she’s been to more than her fair share of doctors, psychiatrists, and psychologists. Why couldn’t her parents just appreciate the unique that was her? At least when she has reached 21 she meets the most amazing guy at the grocery store. Griffin turns into the love of her life. At least until she walks out of her doctor’s office and sees Nate. Nate who shes just knows things about. Things from before she was actually born. Huh? Then, when Swayze shows up to interview to be a nanny, it’s for none other than Nate. Huh? Thus begins one of the most confusing times in Swayze’s life. How does she know so much about Nate’s early life? How does she balance what she knows with the life she’s building with Griffin? How does she explain to Griffin that she knows things about Nate, but is absolutely present with Griffin? So many feelings and questions are swirling. And then, a murder occurs in Swayze’s building that turns everything upside down.
This is a very interesting thought. What if someone knew things about us? Things no one could no except the person who was gone? And if you are that person, how do you balance a past life with a present life? Looking for answers to so many questions in Epoch. Enjoy!
I’m still reeling from this story!!! OMG there are soooo many emotions, thoughts and feelings running rampant right now. The premise really makes you digest the story on a whole new level.
I seriously LOVE all the characters, Swayze, Griffin & Nate. You seriously can’t help but to love them all in different ways and root for them.
There is so much I want to say but it would give the story away!! The most important thing is if you are reading this and contemplating reading this book JUST READ IT!! You will thank me later. Make sure you have friends you can talk to about it. You WILL need someone to talk to!!
Okay, I love all things Jewel E. Ann, so I knew Transcend would be great. It’s so unique and mind-bending! I am all tied up in knots right now. Damn you, Jewel and that cliffy! I knew it was coming but it still got me. I don’t want to spoil this amazing story, so I’ll just say this: READ IT! I guarantee it’s different than anything you’ve read before. And as always, Jewel brought allllll the feels. Transcend is such a thought-provoking read, it will be in my mind constantly until I get the next book. I can’t wait for Epoch!
1. How in the ham sandwich is this the first book I’ve read from Jewel E. Ann?
2. I’m kicking myself for not realizing this was a duet.
3. I need a hug because holy wow! what did I just read?
This book was different than my typical read but it was so dang good. Emotional- but not in your face I’m going to make you cry your eyes out emotional. It was a deeper, my chest and belly ache with the feels this one brought out.
I love Swayze and Griff and Nate. And please don’t see three names and think love triangle because this isn’t one at all (but it is a love story).
I can’t put into words how addicting Transcend was. This book is truly something special. A journey where past and present collide and no one is safe. I’m not sure what Jewel E. Ann has in store for the conclusion to this duet but I am so ready for it!
My review from December 10, 2018:
Wow. Out-fucking-standing.
This book consumed me.
It wrapped its fingers around my heart and squeezed.
I wanted it to last, so I could savor every moment, yet I wanted it to end, to give me answers.
Thank goodness book 2 was available because I dove right in.
This book was heart WRENCHING. I’m new to this author and I couldn’t stop reading this book. I highly recommended the duet
Off The Chart Good!
I love this book! Capitivating, intriguing, suspenseful. This is a great Paranormal Romance that I enjoyed so much. Swayze is a woman that has a memory of a past that she hasn’t lived. She will soon have to deal with the past and present as they collide.
Thought provoking
Wow – mind blowing, great story.
