Very tightly charged plot, engaging characters and a “bad guy” worthy of James Bond.
Really well written and researched. Noah and Lillian are a great couple. Noah is like a knight in tarnished armour and Lillian is the truly courageous civilian who ends up enveloped in a very twisty plot!
Some characters redeem themselves, some fall further into the darkness. The couples from the previous books all make an appearance and there are a few new characters to interest you. Jeff especially is very…enterprising. I did feel for poor Lillian, she loves her job in the family’s fixer business but fitting into the tightly controlled mould made by her sister, is a very tough way to live.
Engrossing read!
Well written covert agent spy thriller with just the right amount of romance.
Truly enjoyed
I freaking loved this story. Okay, so I really, really need to read books 1&2 as there is some back story to the other characters mentioned and though I didn’t feel lost, per se, I did want to read those stories as well, to see how they have gotten to this part so far. Noah White is an assassin for the CIA, while he is undercover working another OP, he gets notice that he needs to take out an asset. The person he has to take out, is none other than Lillian Matthews, whom he really likes, so nope he is not going to do that, but he needs to know why she is on the CIA’s hit list. He confronts Lillian and finds out some information as to why the CIA would like to kill her. Noah convinces her that her best bet is to be on the run with him. Now this is where it gets a bit tricky for me, there is obviously some chemistry between the two but Lillian is very hesitant to trust him. It seems he isn’t such a nice guy, at least from her point of view, because of some of the things he has had to do and still does., Lol. Loved it! Filled with suspense, action, betrayal, secrets, and a hot intense attraction that can no longer be denied leads to a satisfactory conclusion. 4.5 stars*****

This is the third book in the series, introducing not one but two other couples to the fight to unmask SICA, the rogue covert agency mirroring the CIA. When CIA contract field asset, Noah White is ordered to kill Lillian Mathews, he knows that, something is wrong in the CIA, and instead his new mission is to protect her. She was living a double life to help save the world, and the sick SICA organization wants to stop her and the others so they can continue to amass wealth and power. Soon they learn that SICA has spread across the globe. Rand and Sarah from the first book, Carol and Andy from the second, in addition to two CIA agents Mitch and Irene have all been framed by SICA and are branded traitors. With other allies, can they stop SICA, before SICA stops them all?
The author skillfully creates captivating characters in this fast pace, action packed page turner. Lots of action and intrigue and with the current revelations of chicanery in the upper echelons of both the CIA and FBI, totally believable. However, I would not recommend reading as a stand alone. Since I read the first book 2 years ago and the second last year, I had to refer back to my reviews to keep up. That is why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5.
I received a free advanced copy of this book from NetGalley.com. This is my unbiased and voluntary review.
I volunteered to read and review an advanced readers copy though Netgallery of Traitor Games .
I’ll start with WOW ! What a thrilling story . This story packs a punch . It’s definitely an on the edge of your seat read . So much action , fantastic characters . This story has so many twists and turns . It is absolutely pulse pounding at times . Spy’s , hacker’s , CIA Operative’s , Assassin’s good guys , bad guys this story has it all .
Noah White is a Assassin contracted by the CIA . He has been given the assignment to kill another operative Lillian Matthews that he’s told is bad . Noah knows she’s not on the wrong side and he is being set up . Danger is lurking and Noah finds himself protecting and helping Lillian to stop the Rogue covert agency inside the CIA with the help of some other agents and allies .They try to stay a step ahead of the Rogue covert agency and stop them . Absolutely Outstanding ! a definite 5 star read .
I highly recommend taking the time to read and enjoy .
Tense. That would be a good way to describe this book. Especially in the beginning of it. I was up to 15% on my kindle and already a whole lot has happened. You can almost “taste” the danger!
Noah is a total stone-cold killer. Or is he? There is a whole lot more to him that you would think at first. Oh, he was a killer all right and he’d done a whole lot of awful things in the name of his country. Not too many people can change him from his course when he makes up his mind. But then.. Lillian happened. And suddenly he began to do things differently than he ever imagined he would. He often calls her Lily and blows hot and cold dealing with her. One of the reasons is to keep her alive but also because he knows that no way is he good for her.
Lillian has been hiding depths that few people knew about. It kind of bugged me that her sister Cami got the family business just handed to her. She was the face of the business but Lillian was the brains and guts. Cami’s controlling ways were really irritating because come on, really? She’s going to try to dictate all that she did?
I had to agree with one of the characters thoughts that they had a whole lot stacked against them. I had that very same thought. Lillian’s first thoughts about her earlier interactions with Noah made her think he was a jerk. A dangerous one but still a jerk. Imagine her surprise when she spends more time with him and sees another side of him.
The tension and the needed moving around of the good guys and gals kept things interesting. There were several teams of people we got to see and how they helped as much as they could. Considering most of them were on the run trying to stay alive. The intensity and action keeps up throughout the story. It’s also done without sacrificing the quality of the depth of each person.
Great, intense conclusion to the story as well.

Traitor Games by Sidney Bristol
Tarnished Heroes #3
This one was hard to put down once I began reading! Action and suspense from beginning to end! With evil to thwart and lives on the line it is a near miracle that Noah and Lillian don’t end up injured or dead…several times!
Noah is a CIA contractor who realizes there is a line he won’t cross so instead of killing the target he soon finds himself on the run with her trying to keep her alive. Lillian is the “handler” who strategizes and keeps all the players sorted and safe. With pursuit hot on their tale they cross borders and oceans working with others who are all out to cut the head off SICA – a hidden group that has tentacles everywhere. Will they be able to achieve their goal? How many will die in the process?
What I liked:
* Noah – a cool customer with a heart of gold…swoonworthy
* Lillian – stronger than she realizes and brilliant, too
* The other couples that had previous books but play a big part in this one, too (Mitch & Irene, Andy & Carol, Rand & Sarah)
* That not everyone makes it out alive
* The bad guys eventually do get their comeuppances
* The plotting, writing and overall story
* Demetrius – interesting guy that perhaps needs a book of his own
What I didn’t like;
* The bad guys I was meant not to like
Thank you to NetGalley and Entangled Publishing – Amara for the ARC – This is my honest review.
5 Stars
This series is impressive. Fueled with adrenaline pumping action. This is Noah and Lillian’s story as they join the others on the run from SICA. Noah is an alpha male who is tasked with protecting Lillian. She is learning to be strong in the face of danger. As they keep dodging the bad guys they are drawn closer and closer together. You will enjoy this fast paced roller coaster ride as they try to take out the bad guys while staying one step ahead of them. In the end the goods guys stay in the lead, but is it all over.
Traitor Games is the latest installment in the Tarnished Heroes and while it can be read standalone I feel like you will enjoy it much more having read the first two books.
This romantic thriller is fast paced action, intrigue and love. Independent contractor for the CIA Noah White has received orders to kill Washington fixer Lillian Matthews. Noah knows she is one of the good guys and thus starts this adventure. This exciting story takes us on the run all over the world and keeps you on edge till the very last page. Fantastic!
An enjoyable read overall, but I felt like I missed a bit of the backstory etc as I didn’t realise it was book 3 in a series when I started it. I will have to go back and read the first 2 books now, to feel like I haven’t missed anything crucial.
But overall, it was a well developed plot and I really enjoyed the character development.
This is the third book in this series and I do feel that you need to have read the earlier books to get the full story in fact i bought 1 and 2 so I could catch up (book 1 is free at present)
There are a lot of characters in this story and at times it is hard to keep them all sorted out in your head (part of the reason for needing the earlier books) but this story mainly focuses on Noah and Lillian He is a hired assassin working for the CIA but he has found that there is another group working in the background now he has been given the job of cleaning up and his target is Lillian. Except when he starts to target he finds he can’t do the job and decides to protect her instead. Lillian has no idea how she has been drawn into this and who wants her dead she doesn’t even know if she can trust Noah but as they spend more time together the attraction between them grows. This is a sharply written suspense novel that draws you in and keeps you engaged until the very last page I highly recommend it

This is the third book in the Tarnished Heroes series by Sidney Bristol.
I feel like this is an ongoing series that jumps from one book to the next. Since this is book three in a series, there is a lot of back story that is missed. So, if you want to know everything that is going on, pick up books one and two first.
This story has a heck of a lot of cast members milling around. It basically focuses on Lillian Matthews and Noah White but you need to get familiar with them all because they keep coming back up. This is a fast-paced novel that doesn’t let up for one second. Noah is not exactly the boy next door, more like the assassin next door. He is full of complex emotions and frames of reference that no one can really understand if you are not in that type of CIA-esque work. Lillian is the glue that keeps all the teams together. She is the handler and I was surprised a handler was so involved in the lives of her agents. It is like Buffy just hanging out with Giles or Sydney Bristow besting besties with Arvin Sloane. Just plain odd, if you ask me. But in this respect it really works.
Most of this story, all the intelligence, is totally over my head and probably over the heads of most Americans who don’t make it their job to keep tabs on all the bad guys of the world. This was a mind melter for me. I had no idea how this group of seventeen or so operatives could get themselves out of the hot water they had so readily jumped into to save the butts of the American people. There is a conclusion at the end but I felt it was a bit open ended since I assume a new book will come after this one.
The action is top notch and keeps you interested all the way through. There is a bit of sex but it is tame, more like a normal romantic suspense novel. My heart was clutching through most of this so it keeps you engaged too. Definitely pick this up if you like your romance filled with covert ops.
Highly recommended.
I received this as an ARC (Advanced Reader Copy) in return for an honest review. I thank NetGalley, the publisher and the author for allowing me to read this title.
I read book two in this series. You don’t need to read any of the previous books. But as there are references to previous book characters, it does help to have a little background. Book one was Rand and Sarah, book two (the one I read) was Andy and Carol (assassin games)
Noah is good at his job. But lately he’s grown weary of it all. And finding out there is an agency hiding undercover in the CIA was a blow, and a little worrying. And now he has a new target (a clean up job) he’s worried that it’s going to get messy ……
And if he doesn’t kill her, someone else will. At least he wouldn’t make her suffer, it would be quick and clean. But he can’t do it, so to find out who wants her dead, he’s going to have to step in and protect her.
Lillian is being stalked, she’s known it for a while, but why? What could they possibly gain from her death? And she knows it will be her death. And when her would be protector makes himself known, Lillian is confused, and extremely wary. He says he’s there to kill her, but he doesn’t want to, so what does he want?
Together Lillian and Noah don’t have much time to figure out who is trying to kill her and why. Each thought the other wasn’t interested in a romantic way, and with miscommunication and jumping to the wrong conclusions about each other, they don’t seem to be on the same page. But both are aware of the attraction growing between them.
So who is trying to kill Lillian? And can she really trust Noah? He could be playing a bluff, and when her guard is down, that’s when he will strike and kill her.
The book is very fast paced and full of action. The characters work well together, and we get to see previous characters come together to help Noah and Lillian. There are also other forces working to silence Lillian forever. So who do you trust ?
Non-stop action that will have you tensing up and wanting to keep reading long into the night. There are characters from previous books and you really have to pay attention to know what is going on. All the characters are written in their own unique voice. The action is suspenseful and not cheesy or unbelievable. I think you can believe that this stuff happens every day. Noah and Lillian have you rooting for them all along. And the bad guys are really horrible and this story makes you wonder if all of the bad guys are revealed. A fantastic romantic suspense story.
I received a complimentary copy from the publisher through NetGalley.

A great end to these intense spy romance. Noha and Lillian meet again but this times under different circumstance. And very soon they are on a run together and it seems that the enemy is just a small step behind them. IN all the intense situations the emotions are developed and some lines are crossed, but will they admit their feelings or will they run away, will they have a chance to explore this or will the enemy win? An intense story that is full of twists and surprises and it seems that SICA will win. The story holds you on your toes until the end, you don’t know who to trust. Both Noah and Lilian are great characters. I loved how soft and gentle were Noha toward Lilian but hard and ruthless to others. Another great read from the series I loved all of them!
I volunteered to review an ARC of this book for Netgelly
A fabulous addition to Sidney’s Tarnished Heroes series!
