Erika Devore is known for getting the stories nobody else can, but when she ends up on the wrong side of a mob boss she suddenly finds herself in the custody of a former soldier turned security contractor who has made it his business to keep her safe whether she likes it or not. Dax Adams is determined to protect Erika, even if that means spanking her until she is sobbing every time her reckless … until she is sobbing every time her reckless defiance puts her in danger. But when she discovers that the cabin he has chosen as their hideout is part of a BDSM resort, Erika’s intrigue and arousal are both obvious, and Dax decides that the best way to keep her occupied and obedient is to train her as his pet.
Though Dax gives Erika no choice in the matter, her body’s response to his bold dominance is undeniable, and soon she is kneeling naked at his feet, blushing as she is fitted with a tail for the first time, and screaming in helpless pleasure as she is brought to one desperately intense climax after another. But when it is safe for her to return home, will that bring an end to her training?
Publisher’s Note: Training His Petis a stand-alone novel which is the sixth entry in the Owned and Protected series. It includes spankings, sexual scenes, intense and humiliating punishments, and strong D/s and pet play themes. If such material offends you, please don’t buy this book.

Time To Move On…..
Of all of the book in this series, this one had the closest to a consensual relationship between the Dom, Dax and submissive, Erika. the problem is now each book reads the same, Dom saves girl, they run out of Chicago to the countryside of Wisconsin, Dom punishes girl, girl decides she is submissive, Dom humiliates sub (girl), you get the picture. I think it’s time to move on from this series. I read quite a few other books by Measha Stone and this series has run it’s course.

A great story with characters that grab you. I like how the author incorporates the pet play into the story but doesn’t overwhelm it. It’s sexy and enticing and perfect for unwinding.
Dax swoops in to save Erika from a mob threat… but all is not as it seems. In the process of being rescued, a special bond forms between Erika and Dax. I really enjoyed the openness to different lifestyle choices presented in this story. And, of course, the chemistry between Dax and Erika was crackling, which increased my enjoyment!
Loving the Owned and Protected Series by Measha!
Erika is a reporter looking for her big break with a story on a crime family boss that frequents an exclusive club managed by Dax and his brother. Erika gets in to the club, but is almost immediately sent home by Dax to not witness what is going on in a private room. But Erika returns to the club via the alley and witnesses a scuffle that Dax stops and discovers Erika. While Dax brings Erika home, he receives a phone call from his brother about the crime boss’s interest in Erika and that Dax should hide her until it is safe to return. Dax turns to his friend’s exclusive resort that we met in previous books in the series to hide away. But when Erika pushes Dax’s button with wanting her next story, Dax offers to take control of Erika for the time they are here as her story. Erika agrees but finds it hard to leave behind her original story. Will Dax’s past about trust destroy any chance of a future for the two? There are some plot twists along the way that will have you turning the pages quickly, until you reach the last one wanting more!
I liked this book, it almost seemed like it was two books. The story of brothers and organized crime, and the story with Erika at the resort and in the end the two blended seamlessly. I liked the way she let us know all of the hard ships Dax has been through, and the support system he has. Walking away from the club and Corbin. This book does contain elements of BDSM, so beware. Erika and Dax seemed okay with it. I would read more by Measha Stone, I did enjoy the book. I was always waiting to see what happened next.

Great story. Has a really go flow to it and it kept me entertained until the very end. Erika is a nosey, inquisitive, resourceful reporter. She is asking about an exclusive club that a mobster in a member of. She get into the club just in time to witness something she shouldn’t have seen. Now Dax, part owner of this club, has to take her to a safety house. She finds out that the “safe house” is part of a BDSM resort owned by friends of Dax’s. Now Dax is going to train Erica as a pet. These two have stuff in their past that they need to put behind them so they can focus a new life. I received a copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
A nosy detective and a club owner meet in a dark alley along with some mobsters what good could come of that? Trying to save Erika from her own curiosity, Dax hides her away. But will it end there? This books is a steamy push and pull of two hard headed people. Makin her his willing pet is sure to rev you up and leave you panting.

Loved it! This was definitely my favorite in this series!
Dax and Erica were great match. She was strong, independent, fiesty and stubborn. And Dax definitely had his hands full with her. I really liked how patient he was with Erica while she was learning about herself and subbmision.
The plot was less suspenseful then other books in this series that I’ve read so far, but I liked that there was more focus on Erica and Dax and their relationship. Their chemistry was off the charts and pet play scenes were as hot as always!
Even if pet play isn’t your thing, you can’t miss with this book and this whole series.

Dax introduces Erika to BDSM while he has her in seclusion, protecting her from the mob who has taken an interest in her after she witnesses a man being beaten. Or at least his brother had told him that he needed to get her out of town for her safety, which turned out to be a lie. The story is full of deceit on Corbin’s part but the sexual attraction between Dax and Erika is hot. While in seclusion, Ericka is introduced to training to make her his pet. It is a well written story, entertaining and worth reading. I would recommend this as a great read.

Erika was trying to do her job as a journalist, but bringing herself in danger and in the path of Dax.
When she sees something what wasn’t for her eyes and she is in danger of the mob, Dax takes her out of town to a cabin of a friend.
Since she is always looking for a story, she wants to write about this special resort, but Dax doesn’t think that is a good idea.
But he gives her something else to write about, her own experience as his pet. What happens next, Erika didn’t know she would like and be into so much.
When the danger is gone and they go back to town to solve things he with his little brother and she for her job, things happen and they go separate ways.
Will they come back together and forgive each other?
For that you have to read the book.
When you like a good domination story with more than that, this is a book for you.
This standalone book 6 of the series will introduce new characters as well as letting the reader know about previous character in the series and where they are in their lives.
Erika is a driven, ambitious, nosy, and stubborn reporter, who witness a beating by a mobster. Her determination for the next big story has put her life in danger. Dax is ex-military who is the security manager and co-owner of the local club (Velvet with his younger brother Corbin) where the assault took place.
Dax decides he must get Erika to safety and away from the crime family. The only place he thinks is safe is an old buddies BDSM camp. Erika is not kinky and cannot take her reporter cap off and sees another story here.
Dax hadn’t expected the time they spent together at the camp would allow his D/s preferences to come out and play with a partner that was as willing to learn. Erika stubbornness causes her to receive many punishments, which are hot!!! The sex was hotter. I couldn’t put the book down.
Measha Stone did it again. This book is a must read!

After she witnesses a mob boss committing a brutal crime, Erika finds herself on the run with a former soldier turned private security contractor who has taken it upon himself to keep her safe. Dax Adams is determined to protect Erika, but the feisty reporter seems equally set on driving him to distraction. Will her headstorng nature push him away…or make him want her more?
If your looking for a hot and steamy read to get lost in, then Training His Pet is exactly what your looking for. These are romantic suspense stories too in this series and I love that about them. Steamy and thriling, and this book had it in spades. Max has been hired to keep Erika safe. However she makes that harder when she stumbles over a crime being committed by a ruthless mob boss. It is not long though before Max is being driven nuts by Erika. He wants her at his feet in submissive glory and while he can see that Erika is submissive, she has a hard time coming to terms with how she is an independent woman that wants to kneel at the feet of the man she finds super attractive. I loved the push and pull and the banter between these two. They have quite the story to tell too so there are lots of things I didn’t tell you about the book. This book is part of a series, but each one can be read as a standalone. You might see characters from other books in the one your reading or discover their book came first but there are no spoilers to ruin each couples book that you haven’t read. I have not read them in order and have no problem keeping up at all.
Real! Authentic! Believable!
While reading Training His Pet it never felt like I was reading a fictional book. Dax and Erika’s story felt so real. Dax and Erika are both fantastic. I LOVE that we get to cross paths with previous characters from the series.
Another fantastic addition to this series. Incredibly sexy, with some delicious pet play and spankings. This author always writes characters with such amazing chemistry, no matter the genre, and Training His Pet is no exception. Highly recommended as a good, sexy read!
I loved this story so much. It is (IMO) a perfect mix of steam, kink & romance, with just the right dash of danger & suspense to heighten the plot & keep the reader on tenterhooks.
Dax (H), ex-military, stern, strict, focused, serious & intense heads security at the Club he owns with his younger brother. Unfortunately a local mob boss loves their club more than Dax likes but his brother Corbin sees too many dollar signs to allow Dax to run the mob out.
Erika (h), a reporter searching for THE story to launch her from the society pages onto the front pages of the newspaper is determined to follow said mob boss to spy on him, even into Dax’s club. And this causes her to be in a dangerous position prompting Dax to haul her to his friend’s BDSM resort to hide out until the mob boss danger is over.
But Erika is focused on A STORY, whether about the mob boss OR the BDSM resort, anything she is able to launch into a front page story. And this prevented me from initially liking Erika (I personally do not care for this type of heroine) BUT once Dax redirected her journalistic focus to writing a story about how being a sub actually felt, I came to like Erika very, very much.
And I found Dax, while strict & stern, to be remarkably sweet & gentle with Erika, patiently guiding her to acknowledge her own deep but true desires to be a sub & engage in the ‘play’ Dax craved & loved.
The author (again IMO) does a wonderful & masterful job creating characters the reader CARES about, is invested & interested in, intrigued by to see where their paths will lead them. She puts the perfect amount of suspense, tension & danger in the plot to season it without bogging the reader down with in depth details: we want spice to pique our concerns but if we want a Mafia romance there are plenty of those.
I found the author’s writing smooth as always, I was never ‘bumped’ or ‘jarred’ out of the story, it had a deft flow that caused me to read it in one sitting because I had to know how things turned out for Dax, Erika & Corbin. We also have delightful peeks of Devin, Kara, Trevor & Addison.
But overall, I found this to be a beautifully heartwarming & delightfully kinky romance I highly recommend.
Training His Pet is the sixth book in the Owned and Protected series, but reads well as a stand alone. Erika is on a hunt for the perfect article to get her out of the society pages and into the spotlight, and she’s already picked her target: the biggest crime family in the area. But after Erika witnesses a beat down, Dax, the club owner and ex-Army, is determined to Lee her safe, no matter what means he must use. But will Erika just use this new situation to come up with the best story she can, or can something real develop between Erika and Dax?
There’s something special about this series that not only entertains, but develops such a unique relationship between the characters and I just love each book. Dax and Erika are no exception for me, and I loved the importance of willing obedience in this story. Dax is definitely dominant and used to having his way followed without hesitation, but he has his past with his ex that holds him back from having relationships with other submissives. I loved that something about Erika just called to him, and I loved that he didn’t try to stomp out all of her curiosity, but wanted to protect her, own her. Erika was fascinating because she was such a curious person, was driven and determined to be successful, but she wanted everything that Dax sent her way. They had such a special relationship and a few of the scenes between them, I delightfully cringed and grinned at the same time. The drama and dubious consent in this book wasn’t quite as intense as in previous books, but I loved every second I spent reading this book! It was a fantastic addition to the series, bringing in previous characters, delicious pet play, and an exciting romance!
I believe this is only the second I have read from this series.
Each episode presents a very dominant male who suddenly finds his hands full with a feisty strong-willed, independent, intelligent female who, naturally, insists on trying his patience
This episode featured Dax ~ retired military who was running security in a club he co-owned with his brother.
Dax for me came across as a bit of dominant mixed with a savior complex. Not happy with his brother but that is just me. He had experienced betrayal of the worst kind and seemed to carry a bit of guilt for decisions he made in his past, though he was not at fault.
I appreciated that he was not quick to force his beliefs or practices on others. He understood that the body and the mind sometimes needed time to come together and agree on what they wanted.
Erika was tenacious when it came to achieving her goals.
She carried her own burdens that at times I felt spilled over into the whys of her daily life. Why she was so stubborn. Why she always felt she needed just one more. Blinded by her drive she almost lost the thing she had been searching for. Acceptance.
The story was a sweet build with regards to their relationship.
It was fun watching them test their boundaries and each other. Even more entertaining knowing that despite her blushing demeanor this felt right for her.
I cannot get enough of this series!!!!
Erika is chasing a story she’s better off dropping. If course this leads her into some trouble. Dax is ex-military and all protective, thank goodness he comes to Erika’s side.
The heat between these two is fantastic. The things Dax gets Erika to do is hot . There’s this one thing with a bowl….OH MY GEZZUMS!!!
This was a great romance with some pet play thrown in. For her it was all about her next story now that she meant Dax who just wants to protect her.she doesnt know what to think. This is one of my favorite authors and i can’t wait for more from her
