Author Note: This is book 1 of a 6 book murder mystery series. The books cannot standalone, so please be warned that you’d need to read all 6 to get the full story. Each book will release the last Thurs of the month! The town in the story is fictional, so the coordinates on the cover do NOT correlate to the murder locations. Hope you love the story.

This is supposedly a series, but it is actually a serial. That is, the first book “ends” in the middle of the story and you are expected to move on to the next book. I will not. Every book should be complete unto itself, not merely chapters in a longer story. I imagine the purpose is to entice you to buy another book, but instead it just ticks me off, so I will not be reading any more of this author’s work. The concept was at least interesting, because geocaching was being used as a plot device, which is novel.
you have to buy the next book to find the end of the story yuk
At the end I felt like a sucker…it is book one of 6 and you NEED the others to complete the story. So I ended up buying them and downloading them as it is an addicting story…
Couldn’t put it down till I was done
After reading the book not one thing resolved with the characters. How can this be considered a complete book. Felt like a waste of time.
It leaves you up in the air. You have to read the next book to find out what happens.
This book is OK but is only part of the story. You have to buy other books to find out what happens
I was interested in this story, but very disappointed that the story cuts off and we are expected to buy more books to finish the storyline.
Loved the book. Hated they way it ended!
Made me want to read the 2nd book in the series.
Do you believe in second chances?? Suede is now off of probation and needs to move on with her life. After her mother’s death, she moved in with Teddy who is a detective in their city as well as her mother’s boyfriend. Unfortunately, moving on means moving back to the house that her mother left her along with many memories. She is also going to be going back to school and has joined a study group with some friends, working at the paper where her mother worked and wanting to intern at the police department. Considering she wasn’t to go into some sort of law enforcement, the internship will help her decide. Riley is also wanting to change his life. His probation is almost over. He got into trouble for punching Suede’s ex-boyfriend and has been in and out of trouble growing up before this happened. So needless to say, he has quite the reputation. He too is wanting to go into some sort of law enforcement, going back to school and still working on the family blueberry farm with his overbearing brother Brody. When their study group decides to go on a geocaching day and find bones, human bones will this be the beginning of something big? When they find a clue and then another body will this be the work of a serial killer? So much going on and so many things left to go. This is a well written story with many things going on within that will keep you glued to your seat. I’m looking forward to see where the next book goes since this one ends with a cliffhanger… I enjoyed the characters and I look forward to see how much more they develop within the series.
The scene is set. Another twister by the WL Knightly team. This starts a mystery that will take 6 books to cover—all ending on a cliffhanger and all laying out clues for you to spot. I expect it will be like their other series—once you’re sure you know what’s going on—there will be a twist you don’t see coming. Edge of your seat excitement, tons of things going on that don’t seem related. We’re in for another adventure. Eagerly awaiting book 2. (I voluntarily reviewed an ARC).
“Great new series from a great “new to me” author! Well written, great characters. If you only like standalones, this isn’t for you, but I’m spellbound and can’t wait for #2!”
Well then!
Complex, dark sensual with hints of humor – the first book in a series of 6 I had a feeling from the first few pages that something unusual, evil and wickedly intoxicating would suck me into its web of secrets and keep me wanting more.
I was right!
WL Knightly has laid out a compelling and plot twisted engaging murder mystery storyline that has me searching for clues right along with each well defined standout character!
Fast-paced, updated and packs a punch, I cannot wait to see where this story goes from here!
I read and requested an advanced readers copy of this book, any views posted are my own and are not coerced from author/publisher.
This is a great story. The first in the series. A group decides to go geocaching. A clue sends them to a site where they dig and find a skeleton. I am waiting for the next in the series to continue the story.
A great new series that will keep you on your toes
This is the beginning of another get series that is about a group of friends that are in a criminology study group that go geocaching and find human bones. This sets up what they are trying to find out about. You get the background about the different people in the group and how they are going to interact in the future stories. This is a wonderful new series with mystery, intrigue and suspense. I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
This is what I imagine a summer camp run by Temperance Brennan would look like: deceptions, double-crosses, and lots of dead bodies. When this book started, I wasn’t entirely sure what I had gotten myself into, but I was quickly pulled into the story. To the point I couldn’t put it down; so desperate was my need to know what happened next. There are so many layers of things going on in this book that it was easy to get caught up in the mystery of it all. I’m happily baffled as to what are genuine clues and which are tricky little red herrings. It seems this sleepy little town has a lot more secrets than it lets on, and I’m dying to know more.
I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book from the author.
This captivating new series by WL Knightly will keep you on the edge of your seat. Thrilling storyline, wonderful characters and twists you won’t expect. Riley and Suede are criminology students and part of a study group with their friend Graham. They have all been through tragic pasts and are trying to turn their lives around. Graham gets them into geocaching but they end up finding human bones. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
What a great start to a new mystery series.
The author a set the stage wonderfully. There are any number of suspects and you just know there are secrets.
When a student group goes geocaching and finds bones, the mystery has started.
You have seasoned police and FBI looking into the bones and new murder. And you have criminology students trying to follow the pieces of the puzzle.
Can’t wait for the next installment.
I was given this book for an honest voluntary review
I look forward to holding on to my seat for the ride.
Suede and Riley, criminology students with tragic pasts, take part in a geocaching hunt with two other members of their study group and find more than they bargained for. As the story progresses their histories come out to haunt them, they try to make sense of life in general, and the mysteries get deeper. W.L. Knightly’s latest series starts out strong in Tracking the Treasure. With a varied cast and deepening mysteries there is plenty of time and space for the undoubtedly twisted journey that the reader will be taken on to unfold. I look forward to holding on to my seat for the ride.
I received a free copy of the book from the author. I had the opportunity to review or not.
