Forensic investigator Dustin Reed stopped believing in fairytale romance in high school. Ever since his best friends scared off his loser ex, he’s been a chronically single scrawny geek, afraid of being used. Love blossoms around him, while his family wants him to get hitched to the right class of man. All he can seem to find is hookup app encounters, but Dustin wishes someone would sweep him off … off his feet for love, too.
After his tour of duty, now-forensic photographer Leo Sanderson is glad to be home. Behind his muscles lies a heart of gold, but school and his new job aren’t resonating with him. Nobody has his back anymore, but he’s fine on his own. He’s never clicked with the women he’s dated, but bumping into Dustin in a gay bar is making things fall into place… a little faster than he’d like.
Hooking up while avoiding labels isn’t a bad idea: Leo’s figuring himself out, Dustin’s unwilling to hand over his heart, and they both work together. But Valentine’s Day is coming and they haven’t been seeing anyone else. In fact, neither of them want to. Every fairytale has to start somewhere; why not the bedroom? Can they get past their insecurities and admit to each other and the world what they really want?
Trace is a standalone gay romance novel with a HEA ending and no cliffhanger. Book #5, Clutch, is available now!

My favorite of the series so far.
Trace is the 4th book in the Significant Brothers series and it’s my favorite so far. Trace is a bi-awakening story and I really enjoy those. Leo has recently returned from a tour of duty and he’s still figuring himself out. Dustin hasn’t had much luck with relationships.
I liked how Leo didn’t runaway from Dustin when he starts to realize that he might have feelings for him. He’s never wanted a guy before but there’s something about Dustin that calls to him. Dustin is leery of getting involved with a straight guy but he can’t seem to help himself with Leo.
This really was a sweet story with a few exceptions of some homophobic characters. I thought it was pretty low angst and I loved how easy it was to listen to. Greg Boudreaux always does a wonderful job and his performance of Trace is no exception.
I’m really looking forward to listening to the next book in this series.
A complimentary copy of this audiobook was provided to me but my review was voluntary and not influenced by the author and/or narrator.
Trace is totally awesome and addictive! It’s one of those I can’t stop for even a second audiobooks that has you loving every single word! Dustin and Leo are both fascinating characters that’s perfectly matched and I love how open Leo was from the very beginning and how perfect Dustin fit into his life! It’s beautifully written, hot as hell and definitely a wonderful feel good story that leaves you smiling! Oh and narrator Greg Boudreaux definitely does a fabulous job with the voices bringing all these amazing characters to life! Loved it!
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Leo and Dustin’s relationship unfolds so naturally. Each is a bit hesitant. Leo is new to everything about dating and relationships, so he takes his cues from Leo letting him set the pace. Dustin’s been used and discarded by all his attempts at a one so he’s a bit flustered from Leo’s genuine interest. The only angst is from outside influences and they face it together, leaning on one another for support. The way the other brothers accept and rally around them is lovely.

Audiobook: Love this narrator!
I read this book last year, but just listened in audio
Love this series and this book is just as good as the others.
Dustin is fed up being set up by his mother to the right sort of man, he’s also been very unlucky in his grinder hook-ups. So meeting a random man in a bar, was he that lucky.
Leo had just finished his tour of duty and is a photographer. He ends up back in his home town, not knowing anyone anymore and went to a bar where he bumped into Dustin. Always interested but never found the right woman, so when Dustin started talking to him, he thought why not and started talking. An HEA.
Greg does an excellent job narrating this book.
This is a lovely book, as is the whole significant brothers series, they are so much fun.

This great series continues with book 4 Trace. Main characters are Leo an ex military photographer and Dustin a police forensic investigator. Leo is still finding himself and they make a great pair. Updates from all the other significant brothers too. Off to read book 5
The fourth book in the Significant Brothers series was more serious and contemplative than other three books. Dustin is a forensic technician for the local police department, but he’s also searching, and failing, at love. Leo has recently separated from the military and is now trying to figure out his next career path. While he’s doing that, he’s working as forensic photographer for the same police department Dustin works at. Both Dustin and Leo have their insecurities and have to overcome obstacles both at home and at work before they can find their happy ever after with each other.
I adore and devour all of E. Davies books. I love the close knit brother hood of strong loving men, who once they decide are ALL in on their new loves. The sex is HOT. These books make the gay boy in me so happy.
I really liked this book. I enjoy fun and intricate gay stories that one does not know how they will end. This one was good.
