The child of billionaire tech CEO Veronica Beaumont is in desperate need of a bone marrow transplant. With his health rapidly declining, she hires Michael Flint, the heir hunter of last resort, to do the impossible: find Josh Hallman, the boy’s father, to provide a hoped-for match. Six years ago, Hallman piloted a plane that crashed, claiming the lives of two friends. Hallman’s body was never … recovered, and he’s been presumed dead ever since. But Flint is beginning to have doubts—because he’s not the only one looking to find Hallman. The difference is, Flint wants to make sure he’s alive.
Now, in a race against time to save a child’s life, the best heir hunter in the business is determined to find Hallman, if he’s alive, before two relentless killers do. And when the Beaumont job uncovers new clues to a cold case that has haunted him his entire life, Flint finds himself wrestling with the toughest challenge of his career: Just because he can find someone, does that mean he should?

Absolutely loved it, a gripping read!
An intricate and intertwined plot. Flint not only finds Josh whose son from a brief fling with Veronica needs a bone marrow transplant to live, but also identifies the killer of a “kidnapped” woman whom he had been retained several years before to find by her husband. Much of the action centers on an isolated lake near Tahoe. Flint’s skills and team, together with Veronica’s money are an irresistible force. A fun read with lots of action
Fresh, unique occupation for the main character.

I volunteered to read Trace Evidence. Thanks to the
author via Net Gallery for the opportunity. My opinion
is my own.
My favorite of Diane Capri’s series and main characters…Heir Hunters and Michael Flint. Finally book 2, Trace Evidence, is ready!!! The Heir Hunter series is about Michael Flint. Heir Hunter extraordinaire. He is Alert. Oriented. Controlled…Tenacious. He lives in the moment able to regroup mid action/turmoil. His earned global reputation, find anybody, anytime, anywhere. A 100% success rate for cases he excepts. Just because he can find someone doesn’t mean the someone should be found. His former ‘government’ career made him the perfect Hunter. Job qualifications and training, Athletic, Self-defense, Research and Computer mastermind, Resiliant. Current case and terminally ill boy’s only chance. Locate a man, presumed dead but never found. Pilot of plane that crashed six yrs ago. Both passenger bodies recovered. A child never met. A father never told. A body never found. Action and suspence from the beginning. Twists and turns till the end. I received this book from Thomas & Mercer Publishing through NetGalley. I am voluntarily posting this review.
(Thank you Netgalley and the Publisher for the opportunity to read this book for an honest review)
Trace Evidence by author Diane Capri is the second in her series featuring “Heir Hunter” Michael Flint who is a forensic genealogist. Flint earns mega money when he is hired by the wealthy to find anyone, anywhere – whether they are dead or alive. The story is fast paced and will hold your interest!
In Trace Evidence, the life of a young boy is hanging in the balance. He needs a bone marrow transplant and Flint has been given a challenge to find his biological father, Josh Hallman, who does not even know he has a son. The story really grabs your attention as you read the different events of Josh’s life after a plane crash and his attempt to save his two friends goes horribly wrong! Josh goes missing and is presumed dead.
Flint is smart, fearless, and unstoppable when he is hunting the answers he needs to solve a case. Although I was a bit concerned at the number of bodies he leaves in his wake, almost as if he is on the edge of becoming a vigilante for the cases he pursues. The Michael Flint character is very likeable.
Another thriller from Diane Capri which will keep you reading!
