This was such a cute and funny read, I loved every second of it and didn’t want it to end. Jessica has a rough time in life she has endured a lot of loss in such a short time so she is very cautious and doesn’t take any risks. So her friend April tries to get her to relax and break free for a week on a trip to Myrtle Beach, reluctantly Jess agrees but what she doesn’t know is it will ultimately change her life. Jess goes and is set up with Cress whom she met earlier looking for seashells, I don’t want to give too much away but let me say Cress is amazing and does wonders for Jess. Cress is such a hot and kind person that once he set his sights on Jess that’s all he wanted. The book is divided into different sections one where Jess and Cress meet and have their week of fun, then it has a later part where a certain amount of time has passed and things are different but Cress still has his sights set on her and a week was not long enough for him. I loved it all, and these two were perfect together because Cress taught Jess it was ok to step out of your comfort zones and live your life instead of staying on a planned out path.
I LOVED this book! From start to finish I was hooked! I instantly connected to these characters and could not get enough of them. Jessica was hilarious and Cress was such a sweet heart! This was a fun, fast, sweet read and one that I was sad to see come to an end. Full of some laugh out loud moments, and some pretty sad and emotional ones I was dying to know what was going to happen next. The chemistry between Jessica and Cress was off the charts and their instant connection was beautifully written.
The book was definitely filled with some unpredictable moments and that kept me on the edge wondering how exactly things were going to work out.
This is a must read book for sure!

I received an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review.
Toy Girl is the first novel of author, Savannah Maris, I’ve had the pleasure of reading, and I must say, it will not be the last. I loved this book and devoured it in one day! The characters are likable and relatable. The storyline was cute and refreshing in today’s market. The character, April (my favorite) – the main character’s best friend, was sassy and quick-witted. She’s a woman after my own heart. I loved her bar games and her execution of them was fabulous. I highly recommend picking up a copy. It is perfect for snuggling up with on a cool fall evening and getting lost in Cress’s arms.
One week to go off “The Plan” of her life, down south. She’s a sidekick for her friend to meet an online date, she’s the support. They have a plan if it’s not going well, the names of drinks that will be ordered when they meet will tell the tale, if it’s going well, then other drinks will be ordered. It’s hilarious! The name “Toy Girl” does not take affect until at least half way through the story. The story starts in the past and it’s a good chunk, but you need it to see what type of guy Cress is. He ticks all the boxes for a romantic, anyone would love to have him as their boyfriend.
His plan at the end is so very romantic and sweet, it will make you cry (good tears!). Meeting his family is also a breath of fresh air as well. Jess has another surprise in the future in the guest house and its burst out loud laughing for sure.
I highly recommend this book and any others by Ms. Maris, she doesn’t disappoint.
