A baker who sees the dead. One too many suitors. And a killer. Living in Honey Hollow can be murder. A laugh out loud standalone cozy mystery by New York Times Bestseller Addison Moore All books in the series can be read individually but are best enjoyed in order. My name is Lottie Lemon, and I see dead people. Okay, so I rarely see dead people, mostly I see furry creatures of the dearly … people, mostly I see furry creatures of the dearly departed variety, aka dead pets, who have come back from the other side to warn me of their previous owner’s impending doom.
Fall is in the air, the weather is crisp, the leaves are golden and the atmosphere is ripe for murder. It’s the first catering event of the season and I’m blindsided by what transpires at the outlandish party. Not only that, but I stumble upon the one person I would never want to see facedown in a flower bed. And to top it all off, something wicked has rolled into Honey Hollow and every dead spirit I have ever encountered is back to help me fight it.
Lottie Lemon has a brand new bakery to tend to, a budding romance with perhaps one too many suitors, and she has the supernatural ability to see dead pets—which are always harbingers for ominous things to come. Throw in the occasional ghost of the human variety, a string of murders, and her insatiable thirst for justice, and you’ll have more chaos than you know what to do with.
Living in the small town of Honey Hollow can be murder.more
I loved this story so much, It has everything I love in a book and more, I could not put it down, a must read for sure.
Yet again this book does not disappoint. It keeps you on the edge of your seat. Something big is going down in the little town of Honey Hollow. Lotty Lemon is right smack dab in the middle of it. I can’t wait for the next book. I will be on pins and needles waiting to read it.
Love all these books…don’t miss them
This book brings it all back from the first to now!! All the books in the Murder in the Mix series are stand alone but, if you read them all, this book will have you SHOOK!!
Lottie returns with the whole crew to solve yet another murder, but this time with a twist that will leave you on the edge of your seat!! Do NOT pass this book up!! You will regret it if you do!!
Murder and baked goods ahead!
Toxic Apple Turnovers is book 13 in the Murder in the Mix series, and this series is just so much fun! Each book is a stand-alone romantic mystery, but I highly recommend you read the whole series because the are fun books. Toxic Apple Turnovers is the latest adventure of Lottie Lemon and her bakery, not to mention her love triangle with Noah and Everett. Lottie sees dead pets, but occasionally dead people, too, and it puts her on the detective path.
Addison Moore’s books are well-written, light reading, and a quick, humorous, enjoyable ride. If you want to read this, but you want to catch up on the entire series first, you can easily do so within 2 weeks. If you have read Addison Moore’s Murder in the Mix series previously, you will enjoy this story just as much as her previous books. If you are new to this series, and are a fan of fun, entertaining, quirky reads, this one is for you. It takes the fun of the series and adds just a touch of mafia intrigue! Definitely recommend.
Another fun story with twists and turns and of course suspense! Unfortunately for me the love triangle seems to drag out a little too much and Lottie needs to make a decision.
Honey Hollow has experienced a murder every month for the past year. Lottie Lemon has had the misfortune of discovering each body. Due to her super sensual abilities she has become an amateur sleuth usually aided by the ghost of a pet beloved by the victim. Recently Lottie was warned that more trouble was coming to Honey Hollow. Can this small town handle much more? Will Lottie push things too far in the name of her investigation? Will Lottie, Noah, & Everett untangle their love triangle?

Awesome read, well written with a great plot and characters. I was engrossed from start to finish. This book has it all suspense, mystery, humor, spirits of deceased pets, the occasional spirit of humans, murder, justice, romance….love triangle. Honey Hallow has another murder that needs solved. Lottie Lemon of course is up to the task with the help of Noah and Everett and the spirit animals. Also her love life is still up in the air. She also has another mystery to solve….read to find out. I am loving this series and can’t wait to read the next book! I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book from Booksprout.
I can’t believe this is the 13th book in the series! Which means, Lottie, the MC, has been helping solve murder mysteries for 13 months in Honey Hollow. She may be a certified baker, but she moonlights as a detective with the help of her disembodied friends, her two suitors, and a few of her friends and family.
Though this book is a little more special than the others. All of her ghost friends make an appearance in this one! Plus, there are two mysteries to be solved! You’re going to have a blast and a hard time putting this one down! And that cliffhanger? Ahh! Need the next one right now!
This novel is part of Addison Moore’s Murder in the Mix series and I have to say that this the first one I have read. It’s a standalone so, you do not have to read the others in the series. Toxic Apple Turnovers is a wacky romantic suspenseful story about Lottie and her unusual power of seeing spirits of someone’s dead pet. She can sometimes see human spirits but most of the time it is an animal. Lottie also has the dysfunctional relationship with her family and she needs to choose between two men. The men in her life are total opposites of one another and are also step brothers. Then there are siblings and friends of their small town that I find to be the hit of the story. From what I have read Lottie always finds a dead body and this time it’s no different because she gets a warning right before it happens. She doesn’t know who the person is until she finds them and from then on throughout the book she tries to find the killer. Lottie is known in the town as having the best apple turnovers and helping solve murders but there is something else lurking in the background. Lottie, Noah and Everette must navigate their relationship while trying to figure out who the killer is and who is robbing the good folks of their small town.
Toxic Apple Turnovers was a good story with some funny moments mixed in the batter. I have to say though that there were a few times it got hard to follow the dialogue and I didn’t like the fact that there was so much drama. I am all about a story having drama but when there tends to be scenes where the emotional aspect is overdone I start losing interest. I love the supporting characters but not so much Lottie. She couldn’t make up her mind and her feelings changed everyday like from one extreme to the next. I was screaming like please choose someone and choose the right one. I usually know which male character to root for and in this one I couldn’t root for either one of them because she didn’t deserve neither of them. It was a quick read to me and I found that it did drag out somewhat. The being said the story is a romantic comedy/romantic suspense rolled into a good book with good characters. If you like the quirkiness, suspense and romance then this is the story for you. Happy Reading!!!!

I absolutely loved this book. It was amazing and I couldn’t put it down
Lottie always seems to find herself at the right place at the wrong time. Addison has done such a great job of writing such wonderful characters and I just love reading each story. This one did not disappoint! Lottie has a host of characters to help her solve the latest murder. All while still trying to sort out her love life. Can’t wait to read the next one! Got to get some more of my Essex fix!

This has been a wonderful addition to the murder in the mix series! Lottie has found another body and has set out to find the killer. There has also been several break ins around Honey Hallow and Lottie is gearing up to solve those crimes too. She has a lot of much needed help this time. All of her dearly twice departed gohst friends are ready and willing to help her before going back to paradise one more time. I loved getting to revisit all the past characters and just wait for the ending! Lottie’s love life has taken a HUGE step and she didn’t even know it!
Addison Moore continues to bring stories with realistic, but still a bit out there, characters to life. Within the pages of her Murder in the Mix books you get fun, frisky, crazy characters and a bit of hometown adventure with a dash of suspense for good measure. I have loved her Murder in the Mix series since Cutie Pies and Deadly Lies. The characters are amazing and the fact that the lead heroine has the ability to see dearly departed pets, and the occasional ghost, is awesome. It puts a little twist on a supernatural classic. The male leads in the story are two opposite sides of a delicious cake and, to me, you can’t have one without the other. I just love this series sooooo much and can NOT wait for more. Well done to the author!
From cops and robbers, romance, murder, and wedding planning galore! This latest read from Addison Moore will give you a front row seat to Lottie Lemon’s crazy life. She runs the town’s best bakery, shares the affection of two men, and finds herself discovering another body. With the help from her friends and family, and a team of ghostly helpers, Lottie will do whatever it takes to solve these mysteries. This book starts out with a lot of action and ends the same way. It definitely leaves you wanting more!
While this book is a standalone in a series of standalones, this particular story feels like a giant hug and tribute from this author directly to devoted fans. If you’ve been reading along with the series then this book gives you a look back at previous characters and spirits, gives you two mysteries to solve, twice the man drama, and all the Lottie love.
If you are new to this series you are in for a treat with this one. It is pure cozy mystery perfection. Lottie, our main lady solves mysteries that happen (weirdly) to all revolve her bakery. She is a fantastic detective and can see spirits that both help and hinder her goals. I love that Lottie is courted by two men (because I could never choose) and the reader gets all the hijinks that that entails.
Lottie is one of those characters that a reader cannot help but love and I really think this story is the perfect example of her strengths, intelligence, humor and wit. What this author did so well with plot of this story was that no matter how much you guessed, you were always. Wither it be who the guilty party was, their motivation, or how they pulled it off; I was never bored and always excited to turn the pages. This is my favorite to date and I am always excited for more! I received an ARC and I am leaving an honest review. 4.5 stars.
Every book in this series has been amazing, but I think this one takes the cake..Or should I say turnover..LOL So much action and suspense all packed into one book and it is from start to finish. If only these book would come out faster so I could keep reading all about this awesome Honey Hollow family. There is always something happening and Lottie is sure to be in the middle of it all.
Of course, when Lottie is in the middle of the happenings there is sure to be a ghost around to help her out.
The ending of this book is one for the record books. So not what I was expecting and I can not wait till the next book is out to find out what happens next.

This book was beyond amazing as it gave us a chance to revisit all the beloved characters from previous books. All the people of Honey Hollow, every previous spirit and two crimes to be solved simultaneously with the two men feuding over Lottie’s heart, ensures that this book does not have a dull moment! And the icing on the cake is the curveball at the end no one will see coming, leaving you wanting more! 5 stars is not enough for this book….more like a million!
These books are just plain fun to read! I enjoyed every minute of Lottie’s adventures while she wrangles her two favorite men. Looking forward to the next one already!

The adventures of Lottie Lemon get better with each book! Lottie has so much more than her love life on her plate when murder and a string of burglaries hit her tiny town. In true Lottie fashion she sets out to not only bring down a killer but to also catch the thief’s responsible for the chaos. Addison knows how to write to pull you in and leave you wanting more. Each Murder in the Mix book is a stand alone, but they are so good I can’t suggest enough times you should start at one. Just to get the full effect of their awesomeness!
