But there’s more at stake here than just a few nights of fun with an attractive woman. While the two of them sway to the sensual waves, old grievances and long forgotten truths dance dangerously close. Azalea and Peter will have to decide where their loyalty and hearts truly lie- and what are they willing to risk to find the truth.

Tower: A Dark Romance Rapunzel Retelling
Ever After
By: Measha Stone
Narrated by: Wen Ross
The retelling of fairy tales is one of my favorite romantic listens and Measha Stone delivers again with her rendition of Rapunzel! After visiting Tower and seeing Peter Titon there, Azalea goes to her highly protected home. This does not keep Peter from coming to her and taking her without explanation! She goes from one “prison” to another, and has no idea the reason…yet. Peter is taken with her, and is going to make her his! Stone has woven a dark story, with elements of evil in Azalea’s past. There are several ruthless characters we love to hate, a lot of action and a lot of steam. It’s just the right balance. Azalea is very innocent in a lot of ways, and it almost seems impossible once her family history is revealed. Peter is a great antihero, with all the attributes of a dom, right down to his compassion with Azalea. We get a glimpse of Ash and Ellie from Beast giving us a little continuity, but this book definitely stands on it’s own.
Narration by Wen Ross truly made this book for me. His telling of the story with his incredibly alpha tones made Peter the come to life. He had passion and ruthlessness all rolled into one and created a that overprotective feeling. Normally I don’t hear his female voicing, but found his ability to create Azalea easy to listen to and perfect for her. He made her innocent yet wanting. His performance made the book for me.

Great read
In Tower, we get Peter’s story. We met Peter in Beast and found that he is a strong character but also enjoyed the DS side of the bedroom.
Peter doesn’t take crap from anyone, he is second in command for his cousin and knows what to do with it. So when he goes with one of his guys for a collection to a house whom he already knows is in there, there really was no way to talking him out of his plan.
Azalea is a beauty stuck in a Tower of her mothers making. She is not allowed to leave the house unless she is surrounded by her mother’s men. So when men come into the house and take her for payment she fights and knows hell will be made.
Azalea and Peter are a great couple once they get to that point. But the push and pull is also a great ride. I enjoyed this story and am interested to see where Measha goes next.
A great story of secrets and discovery. When Azalea meets Peter at a club she snuck out to go too, she had never seen such a beautiful man in her life. Peter is the owner of Tower and was very surprised to see Azalea there and she was alone. That wasn’t acceptable in his club.
Azalea helps Peter with more than he’ll ever know, and he helps Azalea find her true self.
What a unique twist on a fairy tale!
Azalea is an almost 23-year-old naive young woman who’s tired of being locked up in her mother’s home. So lately she’s been escaping for tiny trips while her mother’s out on business trips. One night she heads to a club where she catches the owner’s eye. Peter Titon is a dominating asshole and he knows it, doesn’t even mind that his reputation is so hard. When he sees Azalea’s innocent gaze taking in a scene between him and a sub at his club, he wants her instantly. She doesn’t take him up on his offer, though, because she hasn’t got the time, literally. If she’s not back home before her mother gets back, she knows nothing good will happen to her. Peter still has her on his mind, though, so when his men come to him with a debt collection trip, and it’s at the same address where he dropped Azalea off the night he first saw her, he knows she’ll be his, even if he has to take her to make it so.
Whew, Tower is H O T!!! I loved it. I’m not always into kidnapping and forced consent type of stories, but Measha Stone does it well here. Peter and Azalea are not just smokin’ hot together, they fit together perfectly. With him schooling her in the D/s ways, and her being the sassy sub that he needs and loves, I ate their story up. But Tower isn’t just super steamy and erotic, the emotional depth of their relationship is what really makes this story stand out. It’s not just some erotic piece of fluff with little or no relationship or character development. It’s not just passionate and exciting, it’s emotionally fleshed out and substantive. Kudos to Measha Stone for this modern twisty retelling of Rapunzel.
How could I not enjoy this sexy, original retelling of the classic tale Rapunzel? Measha Stone had me reading from cover-to-cover all weekend long!
Peter was filling in for his cousin Ash while he was on hi honeymoon. Trying to help at the Annex BDSM club their family owned on top of running the Tower, a new BDSM club he just opened separate from the family business. He saw her watching him as he was in a scene. He didn’t know what it was that had their eyes locking onto each other. They’d never met.
Azalea knew she had a very limited time to be gone and then she had to sneak back into the house before her mother found out she was missing. She didn’t necessarily have a curfew because she wasn’t allowed outside, especially at night. Her mother was VERY over protective, not wanting anything to happen to her.
This is one HOT book. The storyline is a Dark, Sexy version of Rapunzel and holy cow, Measha Stone has given the characters in this book a chemistry that will set the pages on fire. The plot is cohesive and will keep you intrigued all the way to the end. And just like any good fairytale, there’s an HEA at the end, but not before having to work for it.
What a great introduction to a new author this book has been. One to definitely follow
Tower can be enjoyed and read as a stand alone, but believe me, you will enjoy reading the first book, “The Beast”, as well! Measha Stone is a wonderful author, her characters come to life – the reader can easily connect and relate to them and the story is well developed with meaning and substance.
“Rapunzel, Rapunzel, let down your hair” Measha Stone puts her own spin on this story and it is amazing and a great read. Azalea has been isolated from others for most of her life, her mother keeps her in their home, she rarely goes outside. Enter our Prince Charming – oops! Peter really isn’t a Prince Charming and he owns a BDSM club and guess what the name is? Tower! LOL He takes
Azalea from her home while mother is away on business, he is very domineering and overpowering. He says, he feels that she needed to be rescued because something doesn’t feel right, something is wrong and he will find out what is happening. The reader believes that being with him is the safer place to be. But, why? This is just the beginning and Measha Stone continues to keep us guessing at every turn of the page. The suspense builds, the mystery intrigues, the romance is HOT, and Electric with some BDSM aspects and action packed! Thank you Measha Stone for an exciting read!
A book I enjoyed reading Azalea and Peter’s story kept me turning pages once I started I was not putting it down. I received a copy of this book and I am voluntarily reviewing it.
I think this was a pretty solid 3.5 star read for me.
This was a light little BDSM / Rapunzel retelling. I missed the first book in this series, but that didn’t cause any issues for me with this story. And honestly, I didn’t realize this was a fairy-tale retelling until afterwards, but felt those vibes while reading it the entire time. So it definitely fit the bill.
Azalea was kept by her mother locked in her room to ‘keep her safe’. But Azalea was a curious little one and wondered out to the brothel-esq Tower of Peter Titon, our hero, in his new club Tower. One look and we have instant attraction, but Azalea runs out before Peter has a chance to get to know her. Although he does get the opportunity to get her back, it’s against Azalea’s will, but only at first.
Peter is a dominant and he runs his life and his club that way. He takes charge of everything, including Azalea, when he’s given the opportunity. He also takes the reigns to show a very naïve Azalea the wonderous world of his darker sexual appetite.
We spend a lot of the story trying to find out the mystery behind Azaleas mother and how she relates back to Peter. But the real story is between Peter and Azalea, how they feed each other’s souls and help even their personalities. Azalea’s light to Peter’s dark, make for one moody story.
Main Characters: Peter & Azalea
I voluntarily and honestly reviewed this book without bias or persuasion from the author.
5 out of 5 stars
“Tower” is the 1st book I have read by Measha Stone and let me tell you I want to read more of her books. This was a wonderful retelling of Rapunzel. It is a contemporary m/f romance with BDSM. The mc had fabulous chemistry. Peter of course is a Dom and Azalea is a fiery, innocent, but curious submissive. She is young at 23 and still a virgin. There is action, suspense, twists and turns. Highly recommend.
AMAZING!
Trust me when I say, you will not be able to put down Tower. Measha Stone did an amazing job of capturing the essence of this beloved fairytale. Her version is definitely more entertaining!
* WARNING * Inside Tower you will find one of the hottest “Girl on her knees, while keeping her hands on his thighs” scenes! OMG, that scene is hands down one of the hottest scenes I have ever read.
I think that this is actually a 4.5 and not a strict 4.
Fairy tales are a great framework for authors to work with. We all know the basics of the story, so it gives the authors plenty of room to work around without the reader having to get come to a whole new world, cold. That’s what Measha Stone has done here. She’s taken Rapunzel, tied her up a little bit, spanked her a time or two, and given us a new story to read.
Azalea is almost 23 and has spent her entire life under her mother’s thumb. The only way she gets to leave her house by herself is if she sneaks out, otherwise, she stays locked in the house or escorted by a guard. But one night, she manages to escape to a kink club called Tower, where she sees Peter.
Peter runs Tower and helps out his cousin Ash with the family business. When he spots Azalea’s distinctive hair, he has to go talk to her. When he notices her next, it’s because he has left and he sees her running in the rain, in a rush to get home. He offers her a ride.
The next day, Peter decides to go out to help with some “debt collections”. One of the guys who owes his family money is Santos, who works for Azalea’s mom. When he doesn’t have all the money, Peter decides that he’ll take Azalea for the debt.
It’s a really interesting story. There are a lot of aspects that Measha Stone does really well. The way that she handles humiliation in a sexual situation is beautiful. I love that Azalea is all into it and has fantasized about this for years instead of being sweet, innocent, virginal, and vanilla-ish.
I love this series, and I am really hoping for more.
And here’s another one from the Annex-world.
Peter Titon, having opened his own club, Tower, to separate his business from his uncle’s, meets an intriguing woman at the club.
When he encounters her again while conducting “business” for his uncle, he snatches her from her home as collateral for a debt owed.
Living in close proximity with each other, a searing hot D/s relationship develops between Peter and Azalea.
Bit by bit serious doubts about Azaleas mother surface and put her whole life in question, and in danger.
Finally the truth comes to light and it seems all is lost.
This is a sensuous love story set among the worst kind of criminal activities.
Although I had not read any of the previous Decadence books, there was no need to. In my opinion, this is a totally unique story of attraction, obsession, protection and mystery. Peter is a STRONG, confident, dominant male who knows what he wants and acts accordingly to achieve it. Azalea is an intelligent, inquisitive, logical, overly sheltered young woman who was able to devise a hopefully safe way to satisfy her sexual curiosity. Her plan turned out to not be as safe as she had envisioned. Instead, she caught the interest of Peter.
I found the way Peter controlled and cared for Azalea to be captivating and stimulating. The intimacy and sexuality between these two, made my heart thump with excitement. I loved the way he was able to wrench submission and obedience from his well-protected little “guest”. I was totally enthralled by the methods of punishment and reward he used to help her ultimately accept her need to submit to his demand for power and control.
For the last few chapters, my heart was thumping again, but this time in terror and fear. How would this story end? Would there be a HEA? Do yourself a favor, and read it yourself to find out.
Never having read any of Measha Stone’s work before, I was not sure what to expect. OMG! This book was incredibly good. It was deliciously HOT and seductively sensual. Now, I want to read everything this author has ever written and will write in the future.
This book takes place in the same world as Beast. You can read it as a standalone, but you might enjoy it more if you have read Beast. This is a bit of twist to the story of Rapunzel and it is the story of Peter and Azalea.
Azalea was a wonderful character. Kept in a golden cage by her mother, she did escape when possible. She has a bit of a stubborn streak and doesn’t give up hope. She is strong, but with a kind soul
Peter can be a bit of an *** , but he is also fair and has a code. I loved seeing him with Azalea. he took control, but also gave her more freedom then she ever had.
I loved the interaction between them. It made me laugh several times. They clash, which leads to some very scorching and also funny scene’s.
The story has it twist and turns and not everything is as it seems. It will keep your guessing.
in short. It is a great, well written book with great layered and complex characters.
“Tower” is my first book by this particular author and its one that I really did enjoy immensely.
Its been a while since I read a good Dom/submissive story and this one ticked every one of my boxes if it wasn’t for me not quite liking the finale as much as the rest of this book this probably would have been a clean sweep.
No mind this was still an excellent read that kept me on my toes easily capturing and retaining my current attention.
“Tower” tells the story of Azalea and Peter.
Azalea has been kept almost locked in a tower by her over-protective mother and with her long golden locks, the parallels between our girl and the fairy tale Rapunzel are very much in focus.
Only our Peter is no actual prince charming and totally up for using Azalea’s current predicament to do his own sort of rescuing: with our fair princess really just swapping one set of chains for another.
In Peter’s head, he is doing her a favour as her situation at home in his opinion stinks of something totally rotten.
These two are at logger-heads almost from day one and it’s only when a bargain is struck between the two: one that puts Azalea completely under peters control and mercy that an almost deeper accord and connection is attained between our two potential lovers and both finally get what they want and ultimately need.
So this was fabulous and super scorching in nature.
Capturing my interest almost immediately this had just the right balance of action versus romance.
With its many twists and turns, this certainly kept me on my toes.
I found it ever so easy to relate to both Peter and Azalea: though if I’m being completely honest here I did find Azalea’s naivety to be slightly unrealistic.
Even as sheltered as she was I believe she would have asked some questions regarding her almost prisoner like existence with her mother: I just find it difficult to digest that someone could be that oblivious and unaware for real.
Just my own personal take really.
And also as I said earlier the finale here wasn’t quite to my liking either.
I have a super low tolerance for males who think they know what’s best for someone without even consulting the person in question: like real low down low.
So that’s it really: everything else was grand here this book was a really good read.
So this is a complete no-brainer in regards to me recommending this: the answers hell yeh!
“Tower” really was a great book.
Thank You to the Author for providing me with an ARC of “Tower” of which I have reviewed voluntary.
All opinions expressed are entirely my own.
