Rules of Success #1: No distractions. Then again, some rules are made to be broken.CarterI’m the man from the broken family who sacrificed everything to get to the top. Work is my sole focus. My top priority. Until Elle Domingo walks through my door.I try to fight this all-consuming hunger. The need to possess her. I’ve seen what this kind of obsession did to my mother. But I’m already in too … did to my mother. But I’m already in too deep.
I crave her touch. That plump mouth. Those big, brown eyes that make me go all weak.
Elle is more than just a beautiful distraction. She has guts. Fire. And man, can she handle me.
Now that I’ve tasted the sweetness beneath, I have zero intentions of letting her go. The sooner she realizes this, the better.
Elle
I’m the optimist. The go-getter. So convincing Carter Evans to get on board with my disaster-relief project should be a piece of cake, right?
Wrong! He shuts me down on sight. And I should’ve seen it coming. The billionaire’s reputation precedes him: Arrogant. Aloof. Prone to jerkish behavior.
I’d be so over it if I didn’t desperately need his help. If I didn’t have the worst crush on him. I mean, those blue eyes should really come with a warning.
He blindsides me when he does a one-eighty. Charming the pants right off me. Am I naïve to let him in? Everything about him spells heartbreak and ruin.
But he’s adamant I’m his. And I’m starting to believe he’s mine.
Psst…Bet you didn’t know aloof billionaires can thaw spectacularly for the right woman. If you enjoy safe melt-the-screen stories featuring uber-possessive heroes who rule in suits and ties and feisty heroines who keep them on their toes, snatch this right up!

A new author. I hadn’t read anything from before but I enjoyed the fast, quick read. This story is about Carter and Elle. Both are deeply attracted to each other. Carter even believes she’s the one for him. Carter is completely alpha male. He ruthless and even narcissistic so relationships that mean something is new to him but he’s determined.

Touched by Distraction by Pippa Lux is book 2 in the Touched Series. This is the story of Elle Domingo and Carter Evans. I haven’t yet read the previous book, so for me this was a standalone book. Elle came to Carter needing his help with one of her projects but he turned her down. But Carter can’t seem to get her out of his mind. Carter has been fighting his instant feelings for her but he finally gives in and has a little chase to her. Enjoyed their quick hot story.

Carter was sitting in his office preparing for his trip to South Africa when his assistant came in and told him that there was someone there to see him. He expected someone else when Elle walked in to talk to him. He was shell shocked when he saw Elle standing in front of him. She asked him if she could use one of his abandon apt building to have a gala there and he prompted told her NO. Carter was taken by her but knew that it would mean trouble if he went after her. Carter had his private detective find out information on her hoping he could find something to turn him off. Carter could not get Elle off his mind when he got back to the office he noticed his trash can had been cleaned and the invitation gone. Carter goes to the Gala and approaches Elle they go back to her office. They were sitting next to each other at table when he leaned over and proposition her. She left for a moment to come back and find the waitress snuggled up next to Carter in Elles seat. After Elle experience she went somewhat ballistic when the girl gave her number to call her and she was free after work. She kindly told the girl to get back to work and told her if she 2anted to work in the town again she would back off. She also left Carter and went off by herself. Carter was sent a link to a blog that had pictures of Elle and Carter kissing. Carter was livid then he gets a call from his client saying he wanted to meet he and have a double date with him and his wife. Elle had been ghosting Carter but when Wendy called to tell her about the meeting. Carter can not get enough of Elle
This book had me captured from the first chapter. I couldn’t put it down. Elle and Carter are absolutely stunning characters and even though the story is a bit shorter than I usually read it was absolutely amazing. I kept thinking, “I wish this was part of a trilogy so I could enjoy the characters longer.”
The only thing keeping this frtom gerting 5 stars is that there wasn’t an epilogue at the end. I pretty much live for those in these types of stand alone books.
