The bonds of love
What a fantastic read! This book was so different from most of the dragon books you may have read. A bond formed at conception creates the basis of this special pairing of dragon riders. The one thing they are looking for is a mate who will complete them. The male is over the top alpha male with a protective streak a continent wide. Of course when he’s up against an equally protective mom, who just happens to be his mate, he never stood a chance. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.
I absolutely loved this book! It was extremely well-written and kept me intrigued from the first page. Despite the genre with dragons, the author including a lot of originality in this story concerning the dragons. I thoroughly enjoyed the new take on it as it was refreshing and endearing at the same time. This book comes highly recommended and I look forward to future titles from this author!
great read
Aldric could be a very thoughtful man at times, ” …when he broke the kiss, he touched his forehead to hers. “I am sorry, my little Dora.” He braced himself on her chair. “I want to take you right here, right now, but I have to clean up first.” I loved this book, this is going to be a series I have to one-click, well at least I hope it’s going to be a series the cover does say book one.
This is the first time I’ve read Mary Auclair, it won’t be the last.
This may be published by Blushing books but it has no spanking in it, if that’s all you want in a book you won’t find it here. You will however find a wonderfully written book full of wonder. I can’t wait for the next book.
This book was given to me for free at my request from the publisher or author and I provided this unbiased voluntary review.
How do you make alien invasions cooler? Add dragons! This world combines alien technology with an almost medieval magic vibe. When history starts repeating itself, its going to take a great deal of sacrifice to prevent what happened on their old planet from happening on Earth. Nice to know aliens aren’t above prejudice and racial cleansing. If you like a little allusion to modern issues in your fantasy, this one is for you!
First let me state, I received an Advance Reader Copy, (ARC), but this in no way influences my review. I always leave an honest review.
This story is Gr8. Endora is human with a daughter that has a terminal illness. Being a mother we do anything we can to save our child, and Endora is no different. The only way she can buy the alien cure for her daughter, is if she signs a mating contract with Draekon Lords, because the women are paid. There is so much going on in this story. I recommend this read. 5 Thumbs up
This was my first book by Mary, I was very intrigued with the blurb, the alien and dragon concept, I was well up for this – I was really happy with the majority of the book, its got a good storyline and some great characters!
Earth was about to self destruct with the humans warring against themselves, until the alien race, the Delradons, stepped in and took over, saving humanity and the earth whilst gaining themselves another world. The Delradon Lords have an intimate bond with a dragon for life, one is not born without the other, and should one die then so will the other. But they have fertility problems, and so the humans are tested for the compatibility to carry their children, most don’t pass and those that do have a big chance of dying during the process.
Lord Aldric was matched to a human a long time ago, but he saw she was happy with a human lover and left her alone to lead her life. Endorra was his match all those years ago, but she is now desperate so save her only child and cashes in her compatibility in an attempt to cure her child. But their connection is so much more than they could ever have dreamt, and feelings start to get involved where Endorra didn’t think for a chance that they would.
Of course, nothing is that simple, a cult from the Delradon’s home world has resurfaced where they believe their blood should be pure and not tainted by that of humans, and so assassinations start, Delradons and their dragons being killed by this unknown cult. Of course Endorra becomes prime target, as well as her child.
I loved the story line and the background for the dragons and the Delradons, their connection was very intimate and made for some excellent reading! I loved Aldric and how much he adored Endorra and how his beast would show through his passion for her.
But Endorra had a nasty habit of lying, which really put me off her quite a bit, yes I understood why she was doing it, but putting her child in danger seemed out of character and a step too far, even in order to keep the storyline moving.
Still I really enjoyed the rest and am looking forward to reading the rest of the series.
As a huge lover of sci-fi romance it’s safe to say I’ve read a lot of books in the genre. It’s also safe to say there aren’t many that truly stand out for me anymore, but Touch Of Ice certainly did. Heart pounding action, breath taking romance, deep emotions, suspense and intrigue are all flying off the pages set in this incredible world that Mary Auclair has built! She’s created a world familiar enough for me to be drawn in, but so distinctly unique it’s unlike anything I’ve read before.
There’s not one moment of slowing down from the second you start Endora and Aldric’s story. I was hooked from the first page and lost to the outstanding roller coaster their story is until the very end. Despite being in a very different world and living an equally different life Endora is still a character that I found myself able to easily relate to. A fiercely protective mother putting her child above all else no matter what life throws at her Endora is the true definition of a fighter.
Aldric was the sexy, broody, alpha male I can’t help but love. His gruff demeanor disguises a huge heart filled with love for Endora that shines through even the darkest of moments.
First time reading this author, I will read more. This story takes you to another world from page one. It will give you all the feelings. The story is woven together in a way that it made me feel like I lived it.
This is my first book by the author, but it won’t be my last.
I enjoyed the rich world that the author created and the bond between dragons and their riders.
Aldric was a man full of passion, but that was not a side he showed to may. His life has been shaped by lost and loneliness and once he gets a chance at having amate and a child he will do anything to protect them. he isn’t perfect and he is a bit to rigid at times, but he is in essence a good man.
Endora was very fierce about protecting the people she loved too, but also didn’t always think and put herself and her child in danger. She is not the most likeable character because of that and her lies.
And I loved the dragons.
I look forward to reading more.
I have been blessed! I have found another new author to read and a new series that I can sink my teeth into!
Mary Auclair is the new author and the series is Dawn of Dragons which is a post-apocalyptic sci-fi, paranormal romance which has both an historical feel but with futuristic touches that blends perfectly to make it easy to imagine the post-apocalyptic scenery and the lives of the characters that live there. The scenes are brought to brilliant life with well written words that produce the vivid imagery that makes it so the reader feels as if they are part of it, so if the author keeps this up, I will definitely be happy to read all the books she can produce.
All the characters are fascinating, strong and compelling which draw readers in and ensure that they want to know more with the hero and heroine, Aldric and Zara having lots of chemistry and a turbulent relationship with lots of emotional issues to overcome and obstacles to face in order to achieve their ever after which keeps readers glued to the pages as the rocky romance takes grows and the sizzling attraction heats up the pages.
Suspense and anticipation builds throughout the story as Endora tries to accept her situation which tugs at even the most hard hearted of heart strings while facing a man that seems to be made of ice. And then there is Aldric that finds he has a chance at his HEA but finds it hard to show his feelings and reach for it. The emotional turbulence is suspenseful enough, but together they must face an enemy that is out destroy their very lives in this steady to fast paced plot.
Touch of Ice is a gripping tale had me completely caught in its fascinating world from beginning to end and I can’t wait to read the next book.
ARC – I voluntarily offered to review this book with no obligations and my opinions are hones
Endora was only trying to save her daughter.
Aldric has mate. He just need to learn how to woo her.
I loved the storytelling + the characters
The storytelling + the character’s build were awesome!
