After having their faces plastered across the news during a high-profile case, FBI Special Agents Ty Grady and Zane Garrett have become more useful to the Bureau posing for photo ops than working undercover. Just as Zane is beginning to consider retirement a viable option, Ty receives a distress call from a friend, leading them to a city rife with echoes from the past.
New Orleans wears its … history on its streets, and it’s the one place Ty’s face could get him killed. Surrounded by trouble as soon as they land, Ty and Zane are swiftly confronted with a past from which Ty can’t hide—one with a surprising connection to Zane’s.
As threats close in from all directions, both men must come to terms with the lives they’ve led and the lies they’ve told. They soon discover that not all their secrets are out yet, and nothing lasts forever.

Love Ty and Zane sooo much. This book I would say was the toughest on their relationship. A lot is uncovered and it is hurtful. I love how they were able to overcome everything and it was very exciting having the Recon team together with Zane. Great addition to the series.
y a2020 Update: One of my absolute favorite series; love Ty and Zane!
OMG, seriously, Abigail Roux is the bomb!! This book was so excellent I could not put it down until I finished it. Another astonishing story in the beautiful saga of Ty and Zane, and I could not believe the places she took them and us. How a traditional, romantic, white-bread, middle-western, middle-aged woman could be so in love with these two men is an excellent testament to the great writing of this talented author.
Ty and Zane’s experiences in this book were painful, heart-wrenching, shocking, and devastating. My heart was pounding through most of the book. I wanted to jump into that book and slap sense into both of them and hug them at the same time. Many secrets will be revealed in this story, and their love is almost irrevocably broken, but fear not, they will overcome in the end. However, the ending is a shocker, and I do not know how I am going to survive until the next installment is published.
I was warned this book would rip out your heart – and I *STILL* wasn’t prepared for all that Ty and Zane went through in this book. It was a fantastic, gut-wrenching read that filled in a lot of back story, pushed the men to their breaking point and allowed them to love even deeper.
I loved this book. I was plunged into the world of belief and logical thinking, drinking absinthe and constant parties, dirty cops and betrayal. There is no better drama than to shake up somebody’s world and turn it inside out, make them doubt everything they knew and felt. Yeah, Ty and Zane got too comfortable in Baltimore, it was time for the truth to fly out like a pigeon and $hit all over everyone. I so didn’t see it coming. But it feels like it needed to come out in the open. Secrets tend to destroy even the strongest love, and Ty and Zane got a second chance to build something honest and true.
But what book would it be without Sidewinder and mortal danger. But the boys are always ready, thank you Digger for traveling battle set, you crazy adorable Marine. The whole book from a certain point is a non-stop fight to stay alive and ahead of their enemies, of which there are plenty. Past comes to haunt Ty spilling over Zane and his buddies. It’s a tough pill to swallow, but needs must. I loved all the characters including Ava and Liam Bell. Each of them were unique in their audacity and love for Ty. But in the end all it came down to was trust and a wrong bullet.
A real page-turner full of feels and angst, friendship and love. I love Ty and Zane! I highly recommend it and am jumping onto next one!
