Men have never failed to disappoint me.I’ve been cheated on, lied to, and had too many selfish lovers to count. I’d pretty much given up hope. That is until I collided head-on with Liam Morris, and literally fell head-over-heels.I was smitten by his devastating good looks, and to top it off, he’s a soccer star.Too good to be true? You bet. He plays for a foreign club and is just home for a visit.… home for a visit.
Just my luck. So why the hell can’t I stay away from him?
I kept telling myself to keep it casual: enjoy the moment while it lasts. But the heart doesn’t always listen to the mind.
When Liam gets injured, he has to stay until he recovers.
Lucky for me, devastating for him. I hate my selfishness. I’m torn apart, and falling deeper. I don’t want him to go.
Will Liam’s injury lead to a major career setback?
Can we find a way to stay together?
Torn (Pathways Book 3) is a very steamy 35K word standalone novella in the Pathways series. And of course, no cheating and a HEA.

I liked this story,,,,, it’s the 3rd book in the Pathway Series,,, but it’s a standalone with an HEA,,,, and some seriously hot scenes,,,!!!
This is the story of Alison, a sports therapist, along with her friends, Marissa & Claire,,,, Alison is out running and literally “runs” into Liam,,, they start a friends with benefits type relationship because, of course, Liam has to go back to England to play professional soccer,,,, or football as they “say over the pond” ,,,, Liam is in the U.S. for an engagement party,,,, Liam invites Alison to a fun soccer game,,,, and of course, he gets hurt,,,,, and then he has to go to see “the girls” professionally and then he and Alison start hanging out more and more,,,,,
So, what do you think is going to happen,,,,??? ,,,,, does Liam have to go back to England,,,,??? ,,,,, what happens if he goes back,,,, or if he stays in the U.S.,,,,,??? I would totally recommend this book to anyone,,,,,!!!
A sexy soccer star collides with his destiny in the third installment of the Pathways series.
3.5 stars
Alison Rossi has had it with men. She has yet to find one who isn’t a liar, a cheater, or a selfish loser. Ali decides to focus solely on her career as a sports therapist at Pathways- the clinic she owns with her two best friends, Claire and Marissa. Although she enjoys her career, she still secretly holds on to a hope that someday she’ll find her special someone- until the day that fate brings over six feet of sexy athlete crashing right into her.
Liam Morgan, a Manchester United soccer star, has flown over to the U.S. for his friend’s engagement party. While jogging through the park, he collides with the beautiful Ali Rossi. After determining that she isn’t hurt, he acts upon their mutual attraction by exchanging cell numbers.
The two begin texting, and find out that they have a lot in common. Both are surprised at the coincidence of running into one another again at Claire and Jared’s engagement party. Sparks fly, and the two end up spending a very hot night together- both with the knowledge that theirs must be a strictly “no-strings attached” connection. Ali knows that getting involved with Liam would be a mistake, since he made it no secret that he is not looking for a relationship because he has to go back to England again soon. Liam invites Ali to watch him play a recreational soccer match in the park. He makes a quick turn on the field while playing and ends up injuring his knee. Since traveling back overseas with his injury is out of the question, Liam asks Ali to become his therapist. The extra time the couple spends working together allows their relationship to grow. Ali begins to feel torn about Liam’s impending departure, although she tries to convince herself that she can handle it.
Liam begins to lash out in frustration when he realizes that his recovery is going to take longer than he wants. He is furious with Ali for not understanding that playing in the Cup means everything to him and to his career- since this could potentially ruin everything that he has worked his whole life to achieve. Liam’s starts to pull away just as Ali realizes that she has started to fall in love with him. Stresses build and then tempers flare, causing their fledgling relationship to falter. Will Ali find a way to reach out to Liam’s heart, or will their relationship end the way it started- with a crash?
I thought that the story was fairly well-written, and I could feel the attraction between the H/h. I do think that perhaps some of their conversations (about their respective families, etc.) should have happened far earlier in the story (instead of at nearly the end), since would have made their “getting to know you phase” more believable- especially since the couple supposedly spent a lot of time together.
I had to deduct half a star from my rating because of the irritatingly selfish way that Ali behaved when Liam became frustrated by his injury. If she was an experienced sports therapist, then she should have understood exactly how important his career was to him, instead of having a massive temper tantrum. Ali’s character just seemed to be a bit immature and selfish to me in general. It would seem that several of this author’s characters have temper issues- not just Jared from book 2!
The sexy scenes were spicy but well-written, and there was good chemistry between the couple. The ending was perhaps a bit predictable, but still satisfying. Overall, this was a quick, easy, and entertaining read.
I received an ARC of this novella, and I voluntarily chose to write an honest review.
